Can I just say... this is the DARKEST ending I've ever seen in the oddworld series?! I mean seriously! We literally watch abe burn alive!

I kinda love this because even in how dark it is for Abe, no one wins. The brewery goes up and Mullock can’t even clear his name. Everyone just loses completely.
and the mudokons will get sick and perhaps die from no brew
and the slig dies. Saddest death in the series. Fite me.
Even the mudoks loses their brew and everything that is connected to the pipelines
Its basically a battle that has gone under permanent cease fire.

The worst part of it? The brewery is gone, and the brewmaster dead alongside his receipe. With no more brew being made, and without an antidote.. all the Mudokons are doomed.
It ain’t a picnic for the Magog Cartel either, they’re also very screwed as they lost their main workforce and eventually it’ll collapse, no one wins in this bad ending

Molloch really screwed the pooch throwing his pilot out the window. His employee's body being found at the scene of the crime further incriminated him.
I've always loved how clever the bad endings in these games are. While, aside from Abe burning alive, this seems pretty good; the company is up in flames just like the original good ending. However, the explosion itself killed all the Mudoken slaves in that factory, estimated in the thousands. Plus, the brew pipelines caught fire which will cause a chain reaction to the interconnected factories killing MORE Mudokens. PLUS, with the blame being put squarely on Mullock and Abe essentially never existing to the public, future uprisings will become uninspired if they believe that they're fearless Mudoken leader was really a criminally insane Glukkon. A much more clever and domino chaining ending than Exodus.
It gets worse.. the brewmaster is dead alongside his receipe AND the factory... meaning no more brew can be made anymore. All Mudokons are doomed to die once the stockpiles inevitably run out.
Several thousand slaves and Abe only saved less than 200.
Even Molluck doesn't get a happy ending. No one knows the truth about Abe so he's not going to be able to clear his name. Both the good guys and the bad guys are screwed.
This ending is so depressing, I mean, abe came all that way just to die in a brutal fire? Dark man, dark.

Not just that. Without the soulbrew, all of mudokan slaves will die of withdrawal. This is a complete disaster.
“It’s not fair. We had TWICE ze flavoar!”
In Abe's Oddysee you get dropped in a fucking meat grinder.
In Soulsorm: you tried your best... and still die.
And in Abe's Exoddus, you get zapped to death to add to the flavor of the Brew.
Plus for Munch's Oddysee, Abe gets turned into a head trophy and Munch gets his lungs surgically taken out while still alive...

It's weird, that little cockroach thing has the power to turn Abe into the Shrykull, an almighty destructive god made from two sacred beasts and a mudokon, but if Abe doesn't have the feelgood vibes, it falls to pieces and dies o.o
That's both brilliant and scary.
It's like the bug is a literally personification of Abe's quarma.
It’s more like the insect heightens his Shrykull ability. He already has the ability to release the power of the Shrykull.
2:47 and 3:07 as dark as this cutscene is. I can’t help but admit that Mullok’s reactions were priceless.
What’s interesting about this bad ending is that even though Abe couldn’t save that many mudokons, Alf and Toby still show sympathy towards Abe. Also I was right, I knew Abe was gonna die in a horrible way that’s actually scarier than what happened to him in Exodus. If this game had the same PS1 graphics as the first two games, it’d be more likely to give me nightmares. Overall this ending was both terrifying AND sad (it’s sad that Abe, Toby and Alph had to die in this ending).
Alf became Abe’s best buddy so far after the events of Alf’s escape and Oddysee

Not only Alf and Toby died with Abe, but also every single mudokon that Abe saved.
I actually like that moment. I was kinda expecting all the mudokons surrounding abe, attack him, and turn him in. And I also agree with your opinion about the ending.
It could even be more terrifying than Munch's Oddysee, mostly because of the implications. When that dark quarma energy went into the scarab, I half expected it to kill Abe. But instead, the scarab itself started breaking apart and I knew the implications immediately. Perhaps death by magic would have been preferable to roasting alive. But what makes this bad ending darker is just the brutal consequences for his failure. It's not just Abe who died horribly; even the bad guys, and more importantly many mudokons experienced that fate too. And it's Molluck who's gonna be framed for terroism. While Munch's Oddyssey can potentially end with the hero being decapitated and a violent lung transplant, it's still somewhat played for laughs when you find out that Abe and Munch could still be alive... albiet humiliated. That's not the case here. It's essentially the apocalypse for pretty much everyone. The Glukkon stock market will collapse, the whole species of Mudokons will go extinct due to the destruction of what they rely on to survive, and at least one Slig has been murdered in a rage. It's very, very dark.

Just watching this, you can really FEEL his hope and resolve completely shatter like glass in these few seconds.
That right there is the expression of an absolutely defeated villain!
The funny thing is that Mullock is technically a villainous protagonist in this game.
By that point, he just can't take it anymore. It's all gone. And now, he's gone from out of the frying pan, into the volcano.
Mullock the Glukkon, the guy who always had a plan and kept his head together, finally hit his breaking point.
He went from being the one of the top business leaders on Oddworld to a scarred runaway fleeing from his own smoking factory, then shortly following is the only Gluk witness to watch as a incalculable amount of damage in Mudoken lives and business stability goes up both figuratively, and literally, in flames. His only hope of proving his innocence being both the cause of the flames, and being among the charred remains of countless workers.
Not only does he know that he's going to be blamed for it, but he knows that there is genuinely nothing that he can do to prevent it, the damage being so major that firing squad is the bareminimum of his sentencing.
And it's all because the player was too lazy to save your comrades.
Out of all the bad endings in the series, seeing Abe get burned alive here was horrifying.
The implications of this ending are even more horrifying if you think about it. It was stated in another cutscene that there were brew pipelines connecting to the other factories across Mudos. As the brew is flammable, the brewery's explosion likely ignited the pipelines and caused a chain reaction in the other factories. The Slig even mentioned that the fires were spreading.
Basically any Mudokons that are still enslaved in other factories will either perish in this chain reaction or die out from being deprived of brew.
you would hope that there are valves to shut things off... like at the pump houses

@@piksqu9544 its basic pipe line engineering, you would need to control the flow going up and down hills, etc.
by far my favorite bad ending because it isn't about abe being disliked by other oddworld inhabitants and then left for dead, but instead Abe's own bad quarma doomed him to fail

While I still think that Munch’s Oddysee’s bad ending is the scariest one in the series (god who knows how that ending will go if they remaster that game), I think this is by far the best bad ending in the series, and by extension, one of the best bad endings I’ve ever seen. Usually when it comes to bad endings, the heroes end up getting beat by the baddies, but in this one, *everyone loses.* The mudokons will never be saved, Mullock won’t be able to clear his name, and the stock market is in shambles. Such a great bad ending and in my opinion, a big improvement on Exoddus’s bad ending.

This ending is very sad, but I do admit the fire train who charge at the factory and blew it up was kinda badass.
When I originally saw images of Abe lying on the ground with brew everywhere I had always assumed that others ganged up on him covered him in it & then lit all on fire but nope... I've been getting bad quarma so I think I'll be getting this one 😅
perfectly acceptable conclusion since the mudokons always betray abe in the bad endings of the other games
*you know what makes this darker! the fact that not only did the factory explode after Abe, Toby and Alf died AND that wasn’t the only factory that blew up! In the worst ending it even explains how since the fires spread through the pipeline other factories or breweries blew up killing other mudokens and sliggies and Brewmaster, Aslik and Morguer were killed as a result and on top of that Mullock literally explained he and possibly his Sliggy were going to be assassinated Via fire squad so literally in this ending NO ONE WINS! It is THAT dark and that’s why I love this game AND this ending! And the cherry on top being that they weren’t able to make the brew with antidote so every Mudoken who had tried the Brew was doomed to die due to withdrawal! And the bug thing dies!*

I guess Molluck uses his teeth to grab on to the Slig and throw it off. Though it'd be fun to see him, as a handless creature, turn the wheel and fly the ship all alone.

Glukkons actually do have arms and hands, it's just that they use them as legs and feet because, over time, their entire race degenerated to the point where their true legs are underdeveloped and no longer function.
Franchement, le design, la réalisation, la mise en scène, la musique de de cette scène c'est juste du génie, c'est incroyablement macabre et pourtant on a envie d'y croire jusqu'au bout. Merci pour ce travail de qualité Oddworld Inhabitants.

But not in the way he hoped. Now they'll be a firing squad after his ass! At least in the Good Ending, his Slig Chauffeur managed to convert other Sligs and make the Glukkon trio's deaths not point to Mullock... for what can you prove with bullet holes?
But he's gonna be alone in this instance. Not only did Molly kill the Brewmaster in the good ending, but he did so with the help of his sligs.

Glukkons have long and strong arms. They wear restrictive suits and shoes to show that they don't need to do the smallest bit of manual labor.
You would barely recognize Glukkons if they chose to wear robot legs like the Sligs do.

I mean the bug itself seems to be a mystery that may be solved in the next game...
As for what happened, technically it wanted to use Abe's quarma (Oddworld karma) to help them get into the brewery...but since in this instance, Abe's quarma was considered Bad...it's energy basically got corrupted and it died from all the negative energy. (Just my guess anyway)

You need to have positive Quarma in 12 levels to reach the final levels. Otherwise you get this ending.
