Great route that day. Shame gear gearing affected by new cable stretching making many middle to some climb gears not functioning for last third ride. If coming from the east of route north side of the hills there is pathfinder park where pathfinder meets harbor/ Fullerton or powder canyon lot other side of the road for good parking. Good route for climbing and tech skills on a gravel bike. If possible chino hills state park /carbon canyon or Claremont wilderness/ Marshall canyon with Bonelli park before the inland heat hell begins for future send its.
Been riding there on cross bikes since the late 80's. Back before the ridiculous gearing that makes it easy for anyone to ride. Still do the dirt climb on my road bike. Nothing new.
Always a rad ride and community at Maverick!
Makes me watch to open my own!
@GravelBikeCalifornia you already opened your own community
Awesome video - capturing a memorable ride with good people, thanks Zacko!
Such a fun day! Thanks for capturing it!
Now that I've a few rides under my belt here, I think I know how to film this route now.
Thank you so much Zac, one of your best videos! You made us your Christmas gift!
Thanks. I didn't think it would come together this well in less than a week, but I had so much good footage.
Looked like an amazing ride followed by incredible food. 👍
I didn't want that brisket burrito to ever end...
You've captured the vibe of West Rd well ✌️
Now that I've done this loop a few times, I know where to press.
this looks like a lot of fun. I'm new to gravel cycling but hope to join something like this soon.
You can definitely piece together a calmer ride through that area.
Great video.
Julian is a beast for riding up the steep and loose trail up to the water tower. He probably made it up Chinawall on 7th st. too.💪🏾
One of these days I'll nail that climb.
What a cinematic fist bump at the end. Come up to SF and lets ride!
I hope to have another send it up there in spring.
This route in the spring is even more magical! You should open up your own shop, where would it be?
Great question. Thinking of a location way from others...maybe somewhere near Sylmar / Lake View Terrace to be close to the Angeles National Forest?
So glad I made it this time! 10/10! Extra props for the vegan taco truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went with the brisket burrito with Rize Kitchen. So savory...
I'm... so... sad I missed this :(
We'll be back.

I've flirted with a chino hills send it. Had to cancel a couple of years ago because of rains.
Bummed to have missed it this year. :(
Keep next december open.
The route gps link appears to be broken. Also, does anyone have the Strava route?
Nice catch. Updated!
@@GravelBikeCalifornia - thank you for posting the route!
what size tires would you recommend for this ?

I don't even know who I was two years ago.
