Osaka is so special to me, it has this mix of culture, people, places and roughness I haven't found in any other big city in Japan. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, or the cleanest / safest place in the country, but it has so much more to offer.

Osaka was my first stop during my first trip to Japan. Your video brings back memories of the places that I have visited. Shinsaibashi-Suji Shopping Street, Shinsekai, Tsutenkaku, Dotonbori, Umeda Sky Building, Kuromon Ichiba Market. Not only that, Osaka Castle and USJ as well. Miss all these places!!!
after going to japan for 2nd time, if I can go again for the 3rd time next year, I want to explore small shopping arcades like this and buy things from there, seems like and interesting way to spend the day and support local shops

I love takoyaki! Here in Honolulu takoyaki is sooooo expensive about $11 for 8, regular at Takoyaki Yama Chan. I have to try and make some in my ebelskiver pan.
Cities in Japan are generally cleaner and safer than most cities around the world. I don't miss going up and down the stairs at train stations. Osaka has several peaceful and parks.

Thanks for making this video. I thought that Shin-Imamiya station looked familiar. We actually stayed a little south of that station and we passed through that area all the time. And Namba Parks... we were there in the winter to see the lights! Looks a lot different during the day!
We walked the same route, backwards. From the back of Super Tamade where we're staying to Nipponbashi road to Kuromon Market to Denden Town, then to Shinsenkai. Bought some sushi at Kura then took a taxi back, as my feet are killing me, that was a LONG WALK. I'd be venturing on that route again, and more, once Japan opens up again. Hope it won't be long as visa is valid only up to January 2023.

I'm Malaysian. My family and I went to Osaka in Nov 2019. We stayed in a AirBnb house 400m from Shin Imamiya Station. It's a big house and very cheap! Me and my teenager kids walked at 1am to Donki a few times during our 7 days trip. Easy access to train station, tourist attractions and airport transfer. Yes, we saw homeless people nearby, but overall it's fine and quite safe.

Quite understandable - a little bit nostalgic - but so many chages - obvously nobody is loosing time in Osaka as for preparations relsted to future Expo 2025. Hopefully you will be successful in packing and expediting your stuff. Please be careful because of the Covid case increase. I hope you have already got your 3rd shot. Just take care - after all you have so much to do which will be energy consuming.
The last time I was in Osaka was October 2019 during the typhoon which hit Tokyo. I had okonomiyaki and ramen at Dotonbori, there were sooo many people at that time.
Everywhere else in the world, things are back to normal except China and Japan. 03:45 Not because so much of covid now, but Kishida's policy. Open the country for 個人観光 and Japan will again be visited by many foreign tourists!

Last time I was in Osaka I was staying at a business hotel near Shinsekai and everywhere arround it smelled like piss ... also it seemed really dirty. Didn't like it much ... the shopping street is nice though but yeah the surrounding isn't also dotonbori is usually way to overcrowded sadly ... not much fun walking there ;( In front of that Donki at ~ 4:15 there were lots of drunken people every night ... Best things of Osaka are the Universal Walk and leaving it for places around like mino-o ^^V Sorry Rion.

I make takoyaki at home using the Zojirushi Takoyaki Grill. I make it gluten-free and use the recipe from Zojirushi for the sauce.
