The simple fact that Bauer has offered to pay for the league minimum and has basically bagged to come back, yet the Braves (who would probably sign a pitcher off death row as long as they said they were sorry) are still passing on the offer, is very telling.

Like him or not, he deserves a chance to play. He was very immature the first part of his career, culminating with the ball throwing over centerfield incident (which he explained recently to a teammate in Mexico that he was frustrated with the situation he was in that inning and threw the ball out of that frustration--not to show up Francona or the centerfielder who had made an error that inning if I remember--whether that is true or not, who knows?). I think he has matured a lot since all of the false accusations and being banned. I think he has learned that bad behavior has consequences and has changed a lot for the better. He has been very popular in Japan and Mexico with both the fans and all of his teammates, as evidenced by his blog videos, so I really don't think signing him in MLB would create much of a PR nightmare. And honestly, he is willing to play for the minimum so if a team signed him and it turned into a media circus or controversy with the fans, they just DFA him and done with it--not out that much. I really think he has been blackballed by the owners and that is a real shame in my opinion.

Most fans are ok with Trevor playing in MLB again. Back last September I posted a poll in a baseball Facebook group asking people should Trevor be allowed back in MLB. With over 1,000 votes , Just under 89% said yes. It's only a small minority that don't want him back.
It comes down to the commissioner. He was comfortable with letting the Astros keep the 2017 title, so they did. He hated Bauer for pointing out how Baseball was turining a blind eye to pitchers using 'sticky stuff', so Bauer is screwed. Where did "innocent until proven guilty" come from? Answer: the Bible. The question is... what is the standard? The standard is that there needs to be multiple independent lines of evidence to bring charges. Also the punishment that would have been given to the perpetrator, shall be given to the false accuser. Hes the best promoter of the game out there. His videos really give the fans a peek into the life and mind of a too athlete. His between game videos are great and unmatched just for the access they grant to the fans but the pitch by pitch videos take it over the top. I think its pretty clear at this point to say, specifically in the Lindsay Hill case, that its as obvious as can be that Bauer was purposely setup and is innocent here. BUT you can at the same time say there may have been other bad behaviors with other women and say when theres smoke theres an issue. How can the first part even be denied at this point though?
Baseball has a history of blackballing players. They've even had to settle lawsuits over it. Barry Bonds is probably the most famous example (dude had lile a .900 OPS his last season yet no one would even give him an offer)
It's beyond pathetic. People can say he's a cancer to the locker room blah blah blah. But given the history of MLB and anyone who actually watches his content online and the way he interacts with teammates, know that that's bullshit. You can't tell me that the guys like Milton Bradley can be on teams for 12 years as a true locker room cancer but Trevor Bauer can't get signed. He's offering to work for league minimum with incentives. With a clause in his contract for behavior. If they truly cared about his locker room etiquette he would have been signed with this offer. He said that they have a problem in MLB they're not doing anything to stop it and if they don't, he's going to join everyone else in doing it and do it better than everyone else and that's exactly what he did. It has been shown that he didn't do anything wrong. He made some poor choices yes and he's been punished. But he still has electric stuff. At minimum he is a top three starter on pretty much every team. Even if he played like shit and went 10 and 10, he's worth the league minimum. And he almost certainly would do better than that. But he's going to succeed no matter what he does. He's a legitimate genius. That last contract even with the suspension gave him more money than he would even know what to do with. I think bauer should be back in the show. It’s pretty clear teams don’t want to touch Bauer for the backlash they would receive but I think all of that is very overblown. The only people who dislike him are chronically online. Any average fan who goes out to a game to watch the team is not really going to care especially if he’s playing good. The inconsistency in how we view players who have been accused or convicted of various crimes is an indictment of our attention span. How many more times is Marcell ozuna going to get in trouble before the same chronically online degenerates cry foul.

First of all, the title means that Trevor is probably not going to be able to get back into baseball which anybody knows if they have been following anything regarding Trevor since the whole situation happened I think around 3 or 4 years ago now. So, it's a waste of time since people know what's going on in that baseball has basically blackballed him from getting back into the league. In terms of Bauer, there is something there that is freaking teams out. Probably a combination of off-field issues, on-field issues, and locker room behavior.

Like him or not, he deserves a chance to play. He was very immature the first part of his career, culminating with the ball throwing over centerfield incident (which he explained recently to a teammate in Mexico that he was frustrated with the situation he was in that inning and threw the ball out of that frustration--not to show up Francona or the centerfielder who had made an error that inning if I remember--whether that is true or not, who knows?). I think he has matured a lot since all of the false accusations and being banned. I think he has learned that bad behavior has consequences and has changed a lot for the better. He has been very popular in Japan and Mexico with both the fans and all of his teammates, as evidenced by his blog videos, so I really don't think signing him in MLB would create much of a PR nightmare. And honestly, he is willing to play for the minimum so if a team signed him and it turned into a media circus or controversy with the fans, they just DFA him and done with it--not out that much. I really think he has been blackballed by the owners and that is a real shame in my opinion.

Most fans are ok with Trevor playing in MLB again. Back last September I posted a poll in a baseball Facebook group asking people should Trevor be allowed back in MLB. With over 1,000 votes , Just under 89% said yes. It's only a small minority that don't want him back.
It comes down to the commissioner. He was comfortable with letting the Astros keep the 2017 title, so they did. He hated Bauer for pointing out how Baseball was turining a blind eye to pitchers using 'sticky stuff', so Bauer is screwed. The sooner Manfred is gone, to sooner Baseball can go back to being run in a sane ay. Maybe the 'ghost runner' will even disappear.

No MLB team wants credit for letting Bauer back in. He preys upon young "baseball groupies" and is not discreet about it. We know professional athletes indulge, but are careful. And, in an effort to clear his name, Bauer airs the sordid, salacious details out to the public. He'd cost teams tens of millions in negative PR. It's an image problem.

Bauer is blackballed and maybe or maybe shouldn’t get another chance. But, if he’s out of the league the other players who have been convicted of SA should also be banned. At least be consistent and actually protect women.

I think its pretty clear at this point to say, specifically in the Lindsay Hill case, that its as obvious as can be that Bauer was purposely setup and is innocent here. BUT you can at the same time say there may have been other bad behaviors with other women and say when theres smoke theres an issue. How can the first part even be denied at this point though?
Baseball has a history of blackballing players.
They've even had to settle lawsuits over it.
Barry Bonds is probably the most famous example (dude had lile a .900 OPS his last season yet no one would even give him an offer)
It's beyond pathetic. People can say he's a cancer to the locker room blah blah blah. But given the history of MLB and anyone who actually watches his content online and the way he interacts with teammates, know that that's bullshit. You can't tell me that the guys like Milton Bradley can be on teams for 12 years as a true locker room cancer but Trevor Bauer can't get signed. He's offering to work for league minimum with incentives. With a clause in his contract for behavior. If they truly cared about his locker room etiquette he would have been signed with this offer. It's absolutely because he exposed sticky stuff. He said that they have a problem in MLB they're not doing anything to stop it and if they don't, he's going to join everyone else in doing it and do it better than everyone else and that's exactly what he did. It has been shown that he didn't do anything wrong. He made some poor choices yes and he's been punished. But he still has electric stuff. At minimum he is a top three starter on pretty much every team. Even if he played like shit and went 10 and 10, he's worth the league minimum. And he almost certainly would do better than that. But he's going to succeed no matter what he does. He's a legitimate genius. That last contract even with the suspension gave him more money than he would even know what to do with. His TH-cam channel alone is going to generate over a million dollars. Not to mention sponsors and being able to teach and merchandise. I say he says fuck you MLB and just plays in Japan again.
I think bauer should be back in the show. Just want say this first because even before the allegations put towards him he was pretty controversial and consistently pushed buttons not caring about the blowback. Id say hes burnt to many bridges and the suspension and ongoing "ban" from baseball wont change.
Id also like to say people grow emotionally as they get older, well most people do, and someone going thru his situation and obvious reflecting that had to be done id assume hes also grown. Would be nice to see him in the show.
It’s pretty clear teams don’t want to touch Bauer for the backlash they would receive but I think all of that is very overblown. The only people who dislike him are chronically online. Any average fan who goes out to a game to watch the team is not really going to care especially if he’s playing good. The inconsistency in how we view players who have been accused or convicted of various crimes is an indictment of our attention span. How many more times is Marcell ozuna going to get in trouble before the same chronically online degenerates cry foul.
I pretty much agree with all the comments. But there's also another reason as to why he's been blackballed: his video channel. I think Bauer's openness about what goes on "behind the curtain" in baseball makes the league uncomfortable.
Dude was barely tolerated purely because of his skill. The moment there was any reason, be it legal trouble or now a dip in skill not to have to deal with him, everyone took it. If you're going to be a dickhead you better be good. That's it.
He got ousted not because he was accused by women of rpe, but he was one of the first pitcher to come out about the rampant usage/cheating with the sticky stuff, that pissed off a lot of people.
Trevor has grown a lot, his current team mates love him and so did in Japan. Also the other pitchers numbers improved with Trevor there. I really hope he gets to redeem himself in MLB
Folks, don't waste your time with watching the video. First of all, the title means that Trevor is probably not going to be able to get back into baseball which anybody knows if they have been following anything regarding Trevor since the whole situation happened I think around 3 or 4 years ago now. So, it's a waste of time since people know what's going on in that baseball has basically blackballed him from getting back into the league. Second, as everybody else is mentioning in the comments, this is just a reposted video so it's ridiculous to just put something back up again just to get some views. I'm not going to watch more videos from this channel based on this video. Not worth my time.
Bauer should be on an MLB team right now, it’s collusion. At this point he might as well sue the league. His career seems to be done either way.
