In this video I explore a neighborhood I have always wanted to visit. This neighborhood is Brownsville in Brooklyn, and it has a reputation of being one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in NYC. Lots of friends warned me not to go there and film, but I am a curious guy and I don't believe in the propaganda of the news, I know there is way more good people than bad people so I decided to check out the neighborhood. Brownsville is pretty residential, and its main street Pitkin Avenue is vibrant and has a lot of stores. The neighborhood is like many other neighborhoods in NYC, and I had a good time exploring it. Hope you enjoy this video, stay tune for more.

They aren’t wrong for telling you to steer clear lol, but thank you so much for this one, Manny. Brownsville is near and dear to my heart as my mother and grandmother grew up there. My great-grandmother came from the Deep South to Brownsville for better opportunities. Her grandparents were slaves. I remember spending a lot of time out in Brownsville when I was kid. They really are gentrifying some stuff out there. I appreciate you, Manny! Keep blessing us with this content!

I used to take the 3 train everyday to go home after school. I went to the PS 189 on rockaway. I was on Sutter Ave/Rutland Road everyday! The neighborhood changed alot! To be fair, that was about 25 years ago.

A friend and I just spent a couple days in Brownsville and EVERYONE was nice! Granted, most of our running around was in the day time. I got on a citi-bike and went looking for the "dancing crossing guard" but never found her😢. Then I rode that bike over to Tompkins Ave in Bedstuy where I'd stayed last year and met some great people. The Uber driver that drove me to the airport was surprised about my bike ride! 😂
    Maybe bc I'm a middle-aged white lady! 😂😂😂

Nowhere near as rough as it used to be.. I tell you the truth, overall Brownsville looks nicer than my neighborhood in Queens.. I hardly saw any trash in the streets and almost no graffiti to speak of, you don't see any burnt out drunks or drug addicts sleeping in the streets or anything like that.. I mean I don't doubt it still has some high crime.. I'm sure it didn't lose all its hood elements, but it definitely came a long way..

really good stream. however, after watching this, so much for all the woke folks who go on and on and on talking about how the city as well as everybody else like developers never do anythi6ng for such black or brown areas. as is, there are parks, police patrols, well kept streets and everything including the low income city project properties looked well maintained. you can't do much about those folks who don't maintain their interior spaces. it actually looks somewhat suburban out in Brownsville. all of this is about the physical environment but what is the level of crime and violence? if the stats are high,
no one can blame it on the environment. it is not some ignored slum. if there is high crime and violence you would have to blame it on neighborhood culture. sorry 'woke folks' but that means certain folks need to be weeded out.
