If you go to a 7-Elevenor Lawson Station in Japan, chances are good you get decent food. I believe SUSURU TV has bought multiple at-home ramen cups and bowls and shown them on his second TH-cam channel.
I was recently on a business trip in San Diego CA and found myself wishing that American 7-11's were like Japanese 7-11's . I'm not sure why American 7-11's are so bad. I appreciated our comedian Satoshi's "sticky rice" comment ;-) LOL! Great Video guys!
When we were in Tokyo, 7-11 sandwiches were my go to before exploring for the day. I made sure to grab a few to keep me going. I really miss this and thank you for this video. Makes me want to go back soon!!! Thank you!!
I kind of agree with you but, I am a little bit of afraid to eat the meat that they offer in a lot of their food. I'm just saying... Sometimes it is quite indistinguishable, if you know what I mean? 😉
Japanese convenience store food is so good! Love the ham and egg sandwiches and the strawberries and cream ones too. You should do more convenience store taste tests, they're my favourite!
fruit sandwiches are a Japanese creation, they're very popular snack in Japan, but they're not common outside japan...original fruit sandwiches are typically fresh strawberries with cream, but nowadays you can find fruit sandwiches that have other fruits in them
They all look great! If I could magically try one, I think I might try the teriyaki chicken and tamago sandwich. Like you said, it makes me think of oyako donburi, and that sounds like a great sandwich...the ham and potato salad one looks so good, too. Thanks for the fun sandwich review, and I look forward to seeing you both at the livestream. Enjoy your weekend! :-)
When Satoshi says Japanese of a word first and then Shinichi follows it with English, I get full of joy as a Nihongo beginner :) That's aside, love you guys. Keep those videos coming.
We eat strawberries on bread in Holland (bananas as well), just with some sugar over it, so not so strange :) I love these sandwiches. I'm gonna try to recreate some at home since I don't have a 7/11 nearby. Great ideas for the bento I make for my daughter every day
I have followed many food channels in my time but i am amazed by the positive energy and great content of this channel! I am so glad to have found you guys!
I was shocked by the sandwiches in the UK when I first moved here. Much better than the US. American convenience store sandwiches taste like sadness and botulism. The ones in other countries are so much better. I once ate a crawfish sandwich from a gas station in England, and not only did I not die, but it even tasted good.
JustAnotherLondoner To be fair, it was a rather posh roadside services, and it is the one of the only crawfish sandwiches I've seen. I think they're becoming more popular because they're an invasive species in the UK, so they need to be fished more.
American 7-11's have terrible food. You are very lucky to have such great options at your convenience store, and I love how they cut off the crust of the bread. The sandwiches look really good. Great review!!
I disagree, I love 7/11 foot. Their hot items are great (on the roller grill and the pizza), and some of their sandwhiches are good too (I like the chicken bacon ranch one). Admittedly, our stuff doesn't look nearly as high quality as the stuff in Japan, but that's the case for all Japanese food, they're just much better at presentation.
The one by me has really good hot food. Large pizza for $6 and they bake them in the pizza oven. Takes 3 mins! Chicken wings, burgers and hot dogs are really good.
I just returned from Japan yesterday and am already missing the 7-11 egg salad sandwiches. They are my favorite too...and the teriyaki chicken sandwich is amazing too!
My theory is American sandwich lettuce is put on the sandwich WET, affecting both the lettuce and the bread. Japan takes the time and care to dry the lettuce which seems like a small thing but I think it makes all the difference. They also might start with a more robust and dryable lettuce instead of traditional wet n sometimes wimpy American Iceberg.
Regarding the fruit sandwiches, I don't know about other regions but a lot of people from my area in Poland love to enjoy strawberries on bread sprinkled with sugar! We also love to incorporate fruits into savory dishes. For example, we cook fruit soups and sometimes add fruit jams to cold pasta or rice with some sour cream on a side! Forest berries filled pierogi and plum knedle are one of the best things in the world :D
I've been to Tokyo a number of times and the first thing I do after I check into my hotel is to go to the nearest conbini and buy about 2000 yen worth of sandwiches, devour them, and crash into bed to recover from the long flight. The egg sandwich is what I associate most with Japan. I think the eggs are cooked in dashi before they are mixed into mayo.
Every Japan holiday my ritual is to exit the airport, find a 7eleven and buy a Ham, Cucumber and Wasabi Mayo sando. So simple, and yet something about the combo makes it so perfect. Can't wait to get another one on our next trip starting on Christmas Eve!
Guys, here in Chile, the prices of the avocado can fluctuate between a little more than a dollar to 3 dollars the bag, that depends of the season or where you buy it 😊
Twice as big for half the price, I'm jealous. Love the videos, I would be interested in hearing about your experiences with Nintendo growing up in Japan and Hawaii
My god! All looks so yummy and the country that I Stay now is Macau and the 7-11 here do have potato salad and egg mayo sandwiches freshly imported from Japan, only twice a week and always sold out fast. Love your videos, keep it up👍
Ah those things are great, and unlike many other places, they don't try to cheat with just putting some garnish in the front and then giving you all bread in the back. The ham and cheese and lettuce thing was my favourite when I visited Japan and needed something simple and familiar to survive on for the first few days.
I can't imagine buying 2 peices of white bread with such plain ingredients. Maybe a snack for a child. Thanks for showing us. I love your convenience store videos.
What a fantastic selection of sandwiches, and the bread yummy. This could be something you guys could do in lock down at the moment for another picnic indoors idea . Watching 2021👍
Teriyaki chicken & egg salad? That's a weird sounding combo but interesting at the same time. I think I'm gonna try to make some of these. Ty for the video, keep 'em coming! Love, love, love!
I like the eggsalad sandwich myself but I prefer the crunchiness of french bread! Watching this really made me hungry and am boilng some eggs right so I can make an eggsalad sandwich! Thank.you, guys! You're an inspiration in my food. choices!
The chicken cutlet and the ham and potato salad sandwiches would be the ones I would try ... but I probably wouldn't as I much prefer to have granary bread for my sandwiches rather than white. The problem I saw with Japanese convenience store sandwiches in Japan was that the cut surface showed lots of filling but it was then disappointing how much actual filling there was going back in the sandwich ... although it looks like that wasn't too much of an issue here. The one I would be least likely to try would be tuna mayo .... can't stand it in commercial sandwiches as it doesn't have enough texture. Making it myself I add a chopped green pepper and some chopped spring onion for texture and flavour (and optionally a little chopped jalapeno), a lot of freshly ground black pepper, and only just enough mayo to hold it together. Once mixed up leave to stand in a covered bowl in the refrigerator for a least an hour before using to allow the flavours to combine.
I adore you both, taste testing different items in Japan. I dream about traveling there and tasting everything yall try! So jealous!!!!! Love you both!
I would probably choose egg salad myself. I like the idea of 2 types of eggs on it. When I make egg salad at home, I always add a ton of celery. Toasting the bread is also good. Do Japanese people eat chicken salad? That's also delish! Thanks for the video! Can't wait to see the next one!
Sandwiches are one of the best food inventions ever. Japanese 7/11 made them even better, if only they would make a reuben sandwich as well I would gladly move there.
While I was there last August, I ended up grabbing a Teriyaki Chicken and Egg sando as a quick dinner. It was a really good choice! That and 7-Eleven’s short rib onigiri were my go-to snacks.
Such a cool tasting! I would take the potato salad sandwich, but without the ham. There used to be a bakery in the Little Tokyo Galleria that made really divine potato salad sandwiches with the fluffiest shokupan. The tuna and avocado sandwich looks good too. Thanks for this video, and I really enjoyed the livestream too. Have a great trip to Hawaii.
I tried making the egg sandwich with American mayo (just a little bit) and it was so yummy. I cant imagine how good it much be with the different mayo you have there.
I remember going to Osaka castle and the park with my backpack full of sandwiches from 711 :D I had lunch on a park bench with warm tea from the vending machine, the crows were really big and noisy
Cornbeef and beetroot is a nice sarny combo.egg salad in the uk is called egg mayonaise we also mix mash potatoes and cornbeef and onion together cornbeef ash delishous.
It’s great that you can get 3 different half sandwiches together. I can never choose what I want so I have to pick a couple types, which only works if I have someone with me or I get stuck with a fridge full. In the west it’s buyer beware
Japanese Mayo really makes many sandwiches taste so much better.... The ham and potato sandwich doesn't sound weird to me...I often add cubes of ham to my potato salad to turn it into a meal.
Wow, yummy fresh tasty looking sandwiches, at very reasonable prices. After watching most of your convenience store series, I think I don’t need to go to restaurants for meals at all in Japan. Seems like they have it all and so cheap too. I remember Anthony Bourdain giving so much praise for Lawson’s egg salad sandwich and red chicken nuggets.
I love sanwichis. when I was a kindergarten's student, some times mom didn't make "dentou , lunch box". But I can get sandwich from 7-11. That time I was very happy.

One thing I would miss in the Japanese 7-11s is the icy cold drinks we call Slurpees that we have in the USA 7-11s. It is sort of like a slushy of many types of flavors cherry, coke , different fruit flavors etc etc
It’s not just about onigiri and bentos. 7-11 Japan has some awesome sandwiches too!
TabiEats mostly everything there is great!!!!!! As you guys know!!!! 👍
If you go to a 7-Elevenor Lawson Station in Japan, chances are good you get decent food. I believe SUSURU TV has bought multiple at-home ramen cups and bowls and shown them on his second TH-cam channel.
TabiEats Please colab with Simon and Martina! I'd love to see that!
The Egg Salad sandwich is like a little pillow from heaven.
I'd love to try them all! Gotta have them all! (sandwiches!-okay that didn't work out as well as it did in my mind haha)
I think the care and attention in the preparation just adds to the experience and enjoyment.
素晴らしい動画をありがとう!
久しぶりに7-11のサンドイッチが食べたくなったわ!
7-11は他にも冷凍食品や冷蔵惣菜それにデザートも素晴らしいから是非食べてみてほしいです。
I was recently on a business trip in San Diego CA and found myself wishing that American 7-11's were like Japanese 7-11's . I'm not sure why American 7-11's are so bad. I appreciated our comedian Satoshi's "sticky rice" comment ;-) LOL! Great Video guys!
Guy Mats So nasty right. We no longer have them in my town. No apto para consumo humano. Not for human consumption.
Guy Mats - they are so bad ): I got fruit one time and it was half rotten
The reason is because American consumers are in general more concerned with price than quality. This will likely change after all the Boomers die off.
Our 7-11's get robbed more.
for sure, S. Korea seven eleven sandwiches are amazing as well
The egg salad one is the best!
When we were in Tokyo, 7-11 sandwiches were my go to before exploring for the day. I made sure to grab a few to keep me going. I really miss this and thank you for this video. Makes me want to go back soon!!! Thank you!!
You guys seriously should have a lot more subscribers!!
Nicholas Sunnardi agree!
7-11’s are amazing in Japan!!!! Egg salad sandwich is my fave. Back in America, I find myself craving 7-11 sandwiches every so often. Oishi!!!!
It seems like no matter where you go in Japan, you can't go wrong with food, even with cheap sandwiches in 7-Eleven.
I kind of agree with you but, I am a little bit of afraid to eat the meat that they offer in a lot of their food. I'm just saying... Sometimes it is quite indistinguishable, if you know what I mean? 😉
@@_sheebie I don’t know what you bruv- I would appreciate it if you explain your intended meaning to me.

I have been to Japan about 10 times and I always find the food so delicious. I am always happy and satisfied they make the food so beautiful looking.
Japanese convenience store food is so good! Love the ham and egg sandwiches and the strawberries and cream ones too. You should do more convenience store taste tests, they're my favourite!
I love 7-11 videos
Strawberries and cream sandwich, never seen that before!
Nigel I'm familiar with 🍓 or 🍌 on bread, but not with cream. Something new to try.
fruit sandwiches are a Japanese creation, they're very popular snack in Japan, but they're not common outside japan...original fruit sandwiches are typically fresh strawberries with cream, but nowadays you can find fruit sandwiches that have other fruits in them
Nigel:oh like u can’t fabricate one at home! 🥪 + 🍓
Dykam: you’ve never tried cême before,ey??
-No homo-
The Mitsuwa in Chicago sells a mixed fruit cream sandwich at their bakery. I call them Happy Sandwiches because they make me happy.
I'm so envious of you getting to live where you live, all about japan at it's way of life and especially food makes me dream away :)
They all look great! If I could magically try one, I think I might try the teriyaki chicken and tamago sandwich. Not sure why I watched 2 guys eating sandwiches, but i enjoyed it and subscribed lol
Love Japanese sandwiches, especially the katsu sando. Really like that they cut the crust off. Fun review! Have a great weekend!
Anthony Dedal Yea I'm not a crust fan either haha.
Wow! These Sandwiches look sooo pretty with all those different colors of the various ingredients.
Thanks for sharing!!
We eat strawberries on bread in Holland (bananas as well), just with some sugar over it, so not so strange :)

Alana Muir "sadness & botulism" #hilarious 😂😂😂
Was it sold as lobster? I've never known shops to sell "crawfish" sandwiches and I've been in the UK my whole life!😂
JustAnotherLondoner I see crawfish every time I visit the U.K. It's a staple at Pret.
Tube Watcher Really?? I dont tend to go to Prett so no wonder I didn't know. I've never seen it in supermarkets or anything
JustAnotherLondoner To be fair, it was a rather posh roadside services, and it is the one of the only crawfish sandwiches I've seen. I think they're becoming more popular because they're an invasive species in the UK, so they need to be fished more.

Food at American 7-11s is apt to make you sick as a dog as I found out years ago.
Well depends were you're 7 eleven located
Omg! Japanese sandwiches look amazingly delicious!! 😋😋
Very interesting, thank you both.
The sandwiches all looked delicious.
when i was in Japan, nearly every night I had to get my sando fix @ 7/11 lawson family mart
Ahh, the egg sandwiches... omg.
Why do I always watch your videos when I'm hungry?!
I just returned from Japan yesterday and am already missing the 7-11 egg salad sandwiches. They are my favorite too...and the teriyaki chicken sandwich is amazing too!
Oh! All those sandwiches look so good, especially the strawberry and whipped cream one. I wish we had fruit sandwiches here in America.
Hello from Northern California, USA. I enjoyed this video very much.
These sandwiches look wonderful, thank you.
My theory is American sandwich lettuce is put on the sandwich WET, affecting both the lettuce and the bread. Japan takes the time and care to dry the lettuce which seems like a small thing but I think it makes all the difference. They also might start with a more robust and dryable lettuce instead of traditional wet n sometimes wimpy American Iceberg.
what accounts for the poisonous after-taste from american convenience store sandwiches though? I'm no chemist but it tastes chemically

Eggsalad sandwiches in Japan are next level. I can't get enough of them.
I love your combini videos! I can't wait to have picnic lunches when I visit in 2020. 😊
I love watching you guys 😊. I never would have thought of potatoes salad and ham . I gonna have to try it !

THEY ALL LOOK SO GOOD
Teriyaki chicken & egg salad? That's a weird sounding combo but interesting at the same time. I think I'm gonna try to make some of these. Ty for the video, keep 'em coming! Love, love, love!
That strawberry sandwich looks so good.
I love your videos!
❤️ keep up the great videos
I just can’t stop watching them 🤩
More great stuff from 7-11. All the sandwiches looked tasty.
The 7-11 Italian Subs are freaking amazing and nobody will convince me otherwise
You guys are awesome. Thank you for the video. Greetings from Canada.
Hey Guys! Loved this video all the sandwiches looked so yummy... You guys are so lucky that 7 Eleven is such high quality in Japan! Virtual Hugs

I miss Japan! Thank you for your videos!

My grandma used to make sliced bread strawberry jam and tinned sterilised cream sandwiches they were the best
Hi from the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago
nicole P yaaassss another islander! Hi from the VI! 🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮
nicole P Jamaica :D
I wish our 7-11 had sandwiches like that.
I tried making the egg sandwich with American mayo (just a little bit) and it was so yummy. I cant imagine how good it much be with the different mayo you have there.
Wow Shinichi you guys had quite a variety of sandwiches my favorite ones were the chicken cutles and the egg salad.
Egg salad sandwich! I tried it once and can attest to its awesomeness!
I love your haul videos, It does make me very hungry though. 😂
Was in Tokyo 2 weeks ago and the 7-11 egg salad was my go-to everyday.
🤣 I love how the Japanese is so descriptive and the English on the packet is "chicken and egg"
The bread on all of these looked so soft and yummy
I remember going to Osaka castle and the park with my backpack full of sandwiches from 711 :D I had lunch on a park bench with warm tea from the vending machine, the crows were really big and noisy
That bread looks like fluffy clouds of goodness!
If you could do a blta (bacon, lettuce, tomato, and avoccado)
Cornbeef and beetroot is a nice sarny combo.egg salad in the uk is called egg mayonaise we also mix mash potatoes and cornbeef and onion together cornbeef ash delishous.
It’s great that you can get 3 different half sandwiches together. I can never choose what I want so I have to pick a couple types, which only works if I have someone with me or I get stuck with a fridge full. In the west it’s buyer beware
I love the translation Sinichi gave for the egg salad sandwich. I love egg sandwiches.
Wow, wish 7-11 had as awesome sandwiches in Norway aswell! Looks so good!
Love sandwiches!!! That looks yummy!!
We live in the Baltimore area, and travel back and forth to the southern shore in DE, cold convenience store sandwiches are easily $5+ for similar. Yesterday I paid $6 each for a turkey & cheese on a croissant 🥐 from a Royal Farms convenience store, it was just an ok sandwich. Good for 7-11 in Japan for setting a higher standard! 👍
Personally 7-11 egg salad sandwich is my favorite~ I get it quite often if I choose to get a sandwich instead of onigiri on the way to class💕
They all looked yummy, esp the tuna and avocado although egg salad is my favorite. Wish 7-11 here in the US even tried to be that nice.
The chicken cutlet sandwich looks so so good.
Those look so good I wonder if you guys could recreate the recipes I would really love to try them!!
Those sandwiches looked yummy. Great video.
Japan is a lovely place it seems, when even the convenience store sandwiches are of decent quality.
Alana Robertson everything is about quality over quantity in Japan. hardwork and handmade sums up Japan.
It all depends on your 7-11 here in America my store was right by the distribution center so I got freshly made sandwiches they where fantastic
7-11 sandwiches in Japan are very soft compared to the sandwiches here in the UK. Our Egg sandwiches usually come with cress or they're usually not as mushy as the Japanese versions. We have Roast Chicken and Avocado in the UK which is usually my go to option. You'll never find katsu sandwich in the UK though.
One thing I would miss in the Japanese 7-11s is the icy cold drinks we call Slurpees that we have in the USA 7-11s. It is sort of like a slushy of many types of flavors cherry, coke , different fruit flavors etc etc
Im starving out now! It looks soooo yummy!
Hmmmm... potato salad with a slice of ham in a sandwich... that sounds really really good. Especially with veggies in the salad 👍🏼
I love Satoshis strong japanese accent 😀 Don't stop learning english, you're doing fine 😃👍👍👍
I miss the egg salad sandwich here so much 😄 I really wish we had this here in Germany as well
