I was thinking the same thing... My daughter is in 6th grade and I'm thinking bout taking some ropes to lunch n introducing this to the kids... Bring it back!!!
@@nope24601Yes, it does! This was part of inner city Black girls’ culture growing up. I believe this was birthed in the 90s (maybe earlier) in urban Black neighborhoods all over the country. This is what I used to do growing up, but we used telephone cords. 🥰✨
@@nope24601why does race never have anything to do with it when its positive lmaoooo. Cus if they were gangbanging i guarantee it would be bc theyre black
thats right...,But I used to sit on the side n watch...love this sport..see this is a sport for men n women together having fun...not hurting one another...ya dig?......lol
The old school days, when folks actually had fun, conversated with one another just positive vibes. Fast forward: kids killing kids, no one likes conversations, all cell phones a.k.a hooked on phonics. Just sad to see what today's time has become.
I always thought it curious that this amazing pastime would be all but unknown to the world if it had not been for an English guy with a distinguished mop of ginger hair !
Loved seeing this. Fell in love with double dutch the moment I saw it in the 80s. So happy to see this amazing art still going today. X
Thank you for bringing back this great activity ❤
This is awesome. Totally took me back to growing up. I never got it, but I still loved being around it. Very cool.
The young girls are the coolest! They so remind of my neighborhood kids in LA back in the 60’s.
"mom can still jump!" that part cracked me up, go mom!
I was driving by an empty playground the other day (thanks flu) and wondered out loud "Doesn't anybody double dutch anymore!?"

@@ggambinogirll oh you sound like an awesome mother. Hopefully they can get into it !
That looks really REALLY hard... even the girls with the ropes (not too sure I could do that)
I saw a sign in front of a building it read “No ball paying”. I just smiled at an empty courtyard; these kids don’t play no more.
Now this is what I call black culture. 🖤💖💖💖💖
Very cool!
Nope. Race has nothing to do with it.

I think it's pretty cool.
