Plus, Lucy Lawless is Australian and there's all that racism down there- it's a lot like supporting Israel in the Israel-Palestine thing... @@videodromeTVversion Listen...I don't want this to sound impolite but those are some weird reasons not to watch such a terrible show. Should people not watch Toy Story just because Tim Allen is in it? or any other right-wing people for that matter? It's not as if the rest of the entertainment industry are a bunch of socialists. And in what country do they not have 'all that racism'? Their treatment of history is about the least accurate of all time as well. Basically, if it happened more than a hundred years ago, Xena did it. That's it. Also, I don't know if this helps at all but Lucy Lawless is from New Zealand. I don't recommend the show, though. Everything I can remember about it is awful, and I watched every episode. So, that would be a good reason not to watch it. Just that it's not good.

Oh my god!! Wishmaster was my favourite horror franchise when I was in high school / early university. Watched each one of them multiple times. Andrew Divoff is a freaking legend - he was fantastic on Lost (which I loved, even if I hated the ending), but here are some more fun facts - he was also in an in an incredibly schlocky Yuzna movie called Faust: Love of the Damned, which, I can never decide whether it's so bad it's good or so bad it's still bad. He was in the Highlander TV series, which I only mention because I'm very invested in the Highlander franchise. He was in one of the Command and Conquer Red Alert games. He got bored of just acting for a while and became a lumberjack, but then decided to just clean forests of trees with pine beetle infestations. He speaks nine languages, and regrets that he's lost his grasp on the tenth he used to know. He's a big time environmentalist and gives a lot of his money to environmentalist causes, food banks, and medical charities. This guy is amazing, and as bad as they end up getting, I love the Wishmaster movies. I also greatly appreciate the Day of the Dead shout-out. Joseph Pilato was brilliant in that film.
Anyway I've prattled on long enough, I just really love your content and I'm very hyped that you love this thing I used to spend so much time with, and that we'll get to go through each title. (Speaking of 4, that's also ... like this weird ... Beauty and the Beast thing, right? That's not just me? Because he knows he needs to get her to legitimately love him for what he is. 4 is a STRANGE FILM.)

I realize this particular video is literally years old, but I just want to say MAN I wish we were friends in college because I've always wanted friends to watch my stupid movies with. I LOVE Wishmaster, Ghoulies, Critters and pretty much every other video you've covered - I share your passion for wet puppet media. I tried to do a b-movie horror night for a while but my friends just don't have the interest. Their loss, more cheesball 80s nonsense for me to rewatch over and over.

I remember catching Wishmaster when I was a teenager in the 2000's. We had all the premium channels, Cinemax, HBO and Showtime and a lot of the time, they would run horror movies late at night. So, if I couldn't sleep, I would turn on one of them and I would watch all the horror movies they were running back-to-back. Caught a lot of good gems that way, including Wishmaster. Love to see someone gushing about it the way that I have done multiple times in the past.
2:54 "Kids, ask your parents what a phonebook is". Mother of Frejya, that makes me feel old! I remember that my father, the abusive asshole that he was, used to threaten to beat me with a phonebook because "they don't leave marks", he would claim, so I wouldn't have bruises and he couldn't go to jail for child abuse. Horrible old bastard!

I consider Wishmaster horror comedy. You could also say it is its own genre. The best part about the Djinn is how he grants wishes. The wishing person has to be extremely specific. Results of vague wishes is funny as it is terrifying. A lesson to be learned from this corny but legendary flick. One of the best.

He is a better dream demon than he is a theological archaeologist. Actually, I mean, he's a rich old dude who's a collector, it's totally in character for that to be the case.
FREDDY COLLECTOR: Ah, Angra Mainyu! Perhaps the most interesting lost, dead, forgotten god in my collection of statues!
GUY WHO JUST INSTALLED THE STATUE: My cousin's a Zoroastrian.
FREDDY COLLECTOR: If only there was a single living soul who could speak of his dead religion!
STATUE GUY: I could, like, show you the temple.
FREDDY COLLECTOR: Alas, there are not.

This is actually one of the most underrated movie franchises ever because there is a lot of potential to make some really scary shit. It is considerably more flexible than anything like Friday the 13th, hollween. Etc. I look forward to see more movies on this franchise. It is kind of like similar to a nightmare on elm street level of potential, it would be good to have him vs Freddy Kruger actually.
