I have a feeling it could be Arnie’s plumfruit mod that’s giving me trouble, but I’m just NOT ready to let that mod go, no matter how messed up it’s making my game! It’s just TOO good and so convenient 😭😭😭 I hope one day he comes back to modding even if it’s just once 😭😭😭
What if we just cut and paste that mod onto our desktop, delete the localthumbcache file from the sims 4 folder (this is a temporary file that gets piled up with broken files from broken cc) and then open our game? This way we’re testing it to see if that mod is actually the problem! If it is not, then we can put it back
i installed arnies plumfruit 2 days ago, and hadn’t had any issues. up until yesterday when i started installing halloween cc now my buttons look like this. i don’t even rlly know what plumfruit all does anyway, did you have to delete it or are you just leaving your game the way it is
@@jpelizzi yes, it only started working again once I deleted the mod :/ ! Such a bummer! It was messing with all buttons and making it difficult for me to make certain selections! When I deleted it, I had no more issues.

My moodlet buttons were gone, only one "actions" column was missing from my household of two. I re-installed the game, - that didn't fix it. I took out all my mods and put them back in one by one checking to see which one it could be and lo, it was none of them. My theory is that it was a corrupt save file and at various points while I was putting mods back in, I saved a couple of times. For instance, my couple was at home and I wanted to them to be on a lot when I restarted the game so I sent them both to town, saved the game, restarted. Did that a couple of times. I wanted to see if them being at different lots made a difference. Important to note that Kawaii Stacie mods are notorious for Last Exceptions and are not updated frequently.
Resetting the Mods folder & keeping the one that you have now as a backup is what works for me after update - opening the Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods folder - searching inside the search bar (of your mods folder) ts4script - writing down the name of each mod (on your notes app) - deleting all those ts4script mods that appeared in the search results - renaming the mods folder into mods old (this is going to reset our mods folder, so we’re going to have the mods old as a backup folder for our cc & mods - so keep it there - and another new mods folder that we’re going to use to install the UPDATED mods) - open the game > go to game options > other > allow script mods & enable mods cc (tick those 2 boxes) - apply changes > exit the game straightaway - launch the game once again > check if those mods options stayed enabled > if so, close it straightaway - a new mods folder should appear in your EA folder - google your mods (from that list) & only install the UPDATED ones in the NEW mods folder - as for the cc (the files that end with package), you can go into the mods old & copy all those files + paste them into your new mods folder

I deleted all my mods (i have a backup) and my problem is still happening and idk what to do The problem: the sleep option is gone, i checked the placement i checked the type of bed but everything is fine the option is just gone Luckily i still have the nap option but its starting to get annoying

So the outdated broken mods we downloaded and had to delete, how do we find the updated and not broken versions so we can download them back into our game? I had script mods of mc command center, ui extension, turbodriver wickedwhims, and slice of life by kawaiistacie
I had whicked whims as well and it turned into a virus on my MacBook, couldn’t get it off fro the life of me and ended up spending 2-3 hours with tech support trying to figure out why it won’t delete 😅

The main issue in the game is represented by all those mods that end with ts4script and we can search them by typing inside the search bar (in the Mods folder) ts4script & only writing those down so that we know what mods we need to reinstall (but ONLY if they have been updated, so pay attention to the release date)
And that’s what I’m afraid of. Every step I did I checked my sims to make sure it didn’t delete my progress cause this would be the 4th time my progress would be deleted and if it does it one more time I’m giving up on Sims 4 and going back to FreePlay

Hey there! We can figure it out Do we still have any ui mods, more columns, mccc in our mods folder? It’s usually those that make our game like this, we have to delete them + also localthumbcache from the Sims 4 folder & install the latest versions for those mods
from this i found out that none of my script mods are causing problems but rather a random piece of cc so that's gonna be so fun trying to find out which one 😥😥

Thanks a lot I really appreciate that, I’m new to the CC world and it’s a bit overwhelming especially when the game have issues after updates . Could I make a new mods folder 📁 where the old mods folder is located in my computer 💻? Once I make the new mod folder do I delete the old mod folder? I was thinking 🤔 taking all CC out of my mods folder then placing them back in one by one, then open & close the game until I figure out which mod is the issue then deleting it. I didn’t know either, but we all learn, right? So here’s the thing Once we rename the Mods folder into Mods old and have the mods enabled in our game (before doing this) The new Mods folder will appear automatically in the same location (aka the sims 4 folder) Does that new Mods folder not show up for us? It should show up if we did enable mods beforehand, closed the game, renamed the folder, opened the game & closed it once again Also, after copying CC only from that mods old folder (so no script mod or functional cc like restaurant mods, life mods and so on) to the new mods folder, yes, we can delete that Truly hope it helps 🙏 and I’m here if you need further suggestions!

Yes, it can be due to mods (some are outdated/not compatible with the current version) so that might be why! Resetting the mods folder helps me with making sure I have a clear folder and that the game runs smoothly So here are the steps for that 1. Turn on cc & mods 2. Apply changes 3. Rename the Mods folder into Mods old (keep the Mods old folder in your TS4 folder bcs you will copy your cc from there, so this is a backup folder for them) - do this with your game completely closed 4. Remove these files from The Sims 4 folder: localthumbcache & gameversion (this way we remove any temporary corrupted mod files, similar to getting rid of cache!) 5. Launch the game & close it rightaway 6. A new Mods folder should appear in TS4 folder (make sure it has the resource.cfg file inside!) 7. Copy all of your cc - clothes and furniture - (but no script mods or functional cc, things like life mods, restaurant mods etc) from your Mods old to the newly generated Mods folder 8. Download the updates for the mods (if there are any! If there are not, we gotta be patient a bit & wait till those updates get released🙏) 9. Place your updated script mods into your newly generated Mods folder Hope I made sense!

Yes, since we’re deleting a part of a mod Buttt What I always do is writing down on a piece of paper the name of each ts4script file Delete those ts4script files And then search them & install the updates (if there are any!) 🙏
u delete everything that says ts4script and whatever is related to those. if u look up ts4script in ur mods folder and delete a mod called something, u look that same thing up and delete everything related to it. for example if you delete basementaldrugs.ts4script, afterwards youd want to look up basemental so you can delete everything related to that mod. this applies to everything with ts4 script in the title. thats what i derived from the video so i hope it helps even tho its a little late

Try to look up for the ones that end with ts4script, you can search them inside your Mods folder, write them down to know what you need to update & delete all those files that showed up in that search
If you did have some mods in game at some point, it’s best to reset the mods folder, just to clear things up 1. Turn on cc & mods 2. Yeah this doesn't work for MacOS unfortunately. Different file structure. I had to just completely disabled mods and have given up fixing the problem. I've gone through each one, updated them all. It never gets corrected. So just won't use them. Absolutely wrecking my gameplay to a severe level and wiping out my gameplay menu. I could ignore it if I could still get to that fine but I can't. It's a bit sad that EA doesn't just, you know, make an official mod manager and work with creators. They should deprecate them after a while. Maybe collaborate with the Nexus or something (Curseforge does not work on MacOS or Linux leaving some of us out). Anyway for me it wasn't script mods and it's unclear which package file is broken so meh 🤷🏾
ok i have a question because I really wanna throw my pc away 🥲 SO basically I went in and I clicked on “delete cc thumbnails” not knowing wtf that was right… but I got a weird feeling and then realized SHIT i hope it’s not what I think it is 😭 AND IT WAS!!! I went straight to google, and luckily sims4studio makes a backup for you so put it back into my sims cas folder but now the only problem is.. the cc thumbnails of my female cc works fine, so make up, clothing, shoes (some are missing tho) and hair etc, but the cc thumbnails of my male cc are literally GONE. i mean I can still see the hair but the skins have nooo thumbnail 😭😭😭 now I can’t see which skin is for males or females. 😭😭 i hope you can help me, if not I guess I should start over or even a better Idea never play again because I have 2.5k cas cc 💀

The game can generate brand new thumbnails for our cc if we exit the game & then reopen it Additionally, we can try this & it should work! We’re gonna reset our Mods folder & remove the game cache (this needs to be deleted from time to time bcs some corrupted files might interfere with it) So here we go! 1. Not true, the mods that was messed up was downloaded from Curseforge. None of the mods I downloaded from the internet had any problems

- launch the game once again > check if those mods options stayed enabled > if so, close it straightaway
- a new mods folder should appear in your EA folder
- google your mods (from that list) & only install the UPDATED ones in the NEW mods folder
- as for the cc (the files that end with package), you can go into the mods old & copy all those files + paste them into your new mods folder

So the outdated broken mods we downloaded and had to delete, how do we find the updated and not broken versions so we can download them back into our game? I had script mods of mc command center, ui extension, turbodriver wickedwhims, and slice of life by kawaiistacie

Hiya 🙏 are all those mods ts4script mods (aka script mods)? Or did you also include cc in that number?
The main issue in the game is represented by all those mods that end with ts4script and we can search them by typing inside the search bar (in the Mods folder) ts4script & only writing those down so that we know what mods we need to reinstall (but ONLY if they have been updated, so pay attention to the release date)
Most cc (aka clothes and furniture) should be good to go, like I said it’s only ts4script mods that pose a problem
I did this but it deleted my entire sims build… so now I have to restart everything. helped with the glitch but deleted all of my progress.
Literally… I was so devastated to find all my progress gone🥲
And that’s what I’m afraid of. Every step I did I checked my sims to make sure it didn’t delete my progress cause this would be the 4th time my progress would be deleted and if it does it one more time I’m giving up on Sims 4 and going back to FreePlay

I then checked the calendar and it will say something like the event is happening even tho it was not. Do you know how to fix this issue?
Might be related to a custom calendar mod! Do you use one? Could also be linked by a broken mod (mccc, more columns or ui cheats)

I was thinking 🤔 taking all CC out of my mods folder then placing them back in one by one, then open & close the game until I figure out which mod is the issue then deleting it.

So here’s the thing
Once we rename the Mods folder into Mods old and have the mods enabled in our game (before doing this)
The new Mods folder will appear automatically in the same location (aka the sims 4 folder)
Does that new Mods folder not show up for us? It should show up if we did enable mods beforehand, closed the game, renamed the folder, opened the game & closed it once again
Also, after copying CC only from that mods old folder (so no script mod or functional cc like restaurant mods, life mods and so on) to the new mods folder, yes, we can delete that

Hii I Downloaded few mods , and Its seems that i am not able to buy anything in game and it just goes stuck , and when that happens i have to exit the game and restart !!is it because of the mods i downloaded?
Yes, it can be due to mods (some are outdated/not compatible with the current version) so that might be why!
Resetting the mods folder helps me with making sure I have a clear folder and that the game runs smoothly
So here are the steps for that
1. Turn on cc & mods
2. Apply changes
3. Rename the Mods folder into Mods old (keep the Mods old folder in your TS4 folder bcs you will copy your cc from there, so this is a backup folder for them) - do this with your game completely closed
4. Remove these files from The Sims 4 folder: localthumbcache & gameversion (this way we remove any temporary corrupted mod files, similar to getting rid of cache!)
5. Launch the game & close it rightaway
6. A new Mods folder should appear in TS4 folder (make sure it has the resource.cfg file inside!)
7. Copy all of your cc - clothes and furniture - (but no script mods or functional cc, things like life mods, restaurant mods etc) from your Mods old to the newly generated Mods folder
8. Download the updates for the mods (if there are any! If there are not, we gotta be patient a bit & wait till those updates get released🙏)
9. Place your updated script mods into your newly generated Mods folder

To sit n go thru a thousand files is crazy it has to be an easier way
Here is a shorter way to get rid of potentially broken mods that works for me after update! (I delete broken mods in a big batch by searching them)
- opening the Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods folder
- searching inside the search bar (of your mods folder) ts4script
- writing down the name of each mod (on your notes app)
- deleting all those ts4script mods that appeared in the search results
- renaming the mods folder into mods old (this is going to reset our mods folder, so we’re going to have the mods old as a backup folder for our cc & mods - so keep it there - and another new mods folder that we’re going to use to install the UPDATED mods)
- open the game > go to game options > other > allow script mods & enable mods cc (tick those 2 boxes)
- apply changes > exit the game straightaway
- launch the game once again > check if those mods options stayed enabled > if so, close it straightaway
- a new mods folder should appear in your EA folder
- google your mods (from that list) & only install the UPDATED ones in the NEW mods folder
- as for the cc (the files that end with package), you can go into the mods old & copy all those files + paste them into your new mods folder

What I always do is writing down on a piece of paper the name of each ts4script file

u delete everything that says ts4script and whatever is related to those.
if u look up ts4script in ur mods folder and delete a mod called something, u look that same thing up and delete everything related to it.
for example if you delete basementaldrugs.ts4script, afterwards youd want to look up basemental so you can delete everything related to that mod.
this applies to everything with ts4 script in the title. thats what i derived from the video so i hope it helps even tho its a little late

Try to look up for the ones that end with ts4script, you can search them inside your Mods folder, write them down to know what you need to update & delete all those files that showed up in that search

Yeah this doesn't work for MacOS unfortunately. Different file structure. I had to just completely disabled mods and have given up fixing the problem. I've gone through each one, updated them all. It never gets corrected. So just won't use them. Absolutely wrecking my gameplay to a severe level and wiping out my gameplay menu. I could ignore it if I could still get to that fine but I can't.
It's a bit sad that EA doesn't just, you know, make an official mod manager and work with creators. They should deprecate them after a while. Maybe collaborate with the Nexus or something (Curseforge does not work on MacOS or Linux leaving some of us out).
Anyway for me it wasn't script mods and it's unclear which package file is broken so meh 🤷🏾

SO basically I went in and I clicked on “delete cc thumbnails” not knowing wtf that was right… but I got a weird feeling and then realized SHIT i hope it’s not what I think it is 😭 AND IT WAS!!!
I went straight to google, and luckily sims4studio makes a backup for you so put it back into my sims cas folder but now the only problem is..
the cc thumbnails of my female cc works fine, so make up, clothing, shoes (some are missing tho) and hair etc, but the cc thumbnails of my male cc are literally GONE. i mean I can still see the hair but the skins have nooo thumbnail 😭😭😭 now I can’t see which skin is for males or females. 😭😭
i hope you can help me, if not I guess I should start over or even a better Idea never play again because I have 2.5k cas cc 💀

The game can generate brand new thumbnails for our cc if we exit the game & then reopen it
Additionally, we can try this & it should work!
We’re gonna reset our Mods folder & remove the game cache (this needs to be deleted from time to time bcs some corrupted files might interfere with it)
So here we go!
1. Tick cc & mods enabled (in game options) - 2 boxes
2. Save changes (if those do not apply, i have a fix here th-cam.com/video/ejP49zTg7FM/w-d-xo.html > exit the sims 4
3. Rename the Mods folder into Mods old (keep the Mods old folder in your TS4 folder) - we’re gonna do this with the game completely closed
4. Delete the following files from The Sims 4 folder: localthumbcache & gameversion (this way we remove any temporary corrupted files, similar to getting rid of cache!)
5. Open ts4 & close it rightaway
