  • This particular section from the second movement is one of my favorite passages from my favorite piece of all time, so I'd thought I'll try learning it.
I'm also learning the first movement Ossia Cadenza at the same time, both are chordal passages but this passage is much easier.
I haven't decided yet if I'll learn the whole movement, or just this passage. (The "waltz" passage with repeated notes and the final cadenza leading to the third movement seems too difficult for me now)
Anyways, this is still a work in progress (as you can tell by the amount of wrong notes).
One thing I learned is that reading and learning the score takes up like 50% of the difficulty. The score is very dirty, with accidentals everywhere and multiple voices merged together with 2-3, 3-4 polyrythms all over the place.
Rach does use a lot of "large chords" but since I can span a 10th, most of them were fine. I did have to roll larger chords but there were plenty of time, so I didn't have to roll them lightning fast - which is good.

What a nice passage from Rach 3! Also I think it's pretty damn good for a work in progress. Also I love the music selection you upload to this channel, my favourite composers always show up!
