The thing that truly got me was that unlike everyone else that were pleading with Corrin to come back to them, Takumi was the ONLY one that actually think about how Corrin was feeling, and even talked to him about how Corrin would have to choose between his families. But see, now it makes PERFECT sense in how he acted in Conquest in Revelations.
Conquest had him have utter contempt and even hatred towards Corrin, and this volume proves it. And in Revelations, he was still hostile, but the fact that Corrin didn't side with Nohr made Takumi more confused on Corrin's loyalties, though how he was convinced was seriously stupid, but still, it makes sense that there he was able to accept Corrin again.
Axis he understands him. white hair unite. robin. kamui. takumi. henry. rhjatat. with there powers combined. they will be the fan favorites of the series. apart from Marty and ike. UNITE
ivanbluecool Takumi doesn't have white hair. Not even this Corrin art has white hair. XD
But yeah, that's actually the surprising part. It was Takumi the guy more hostile and more willing to reject him and even kill him than anyone else. They were all completely sure that Corrin would return to them. But Takumi was the only one that actually understood that this as going to be a hard choice for Corrin, and even admitted that Takumi wouldn't know what he would do if he was thrown into a similar situation.
Takumi kinda did but mikoto brought him back so he had a mini conflict before kamui had his. Also where did everyone go. I s aw every main character fighting. Did everyone just go. Well kamui made his choice no more fighting. Execpt in revelations where xander and ryohma continure to kill each othrr and become hard headed for some reason and share no information with kamui even if he betrayed everyone
The gameplay just showed that so we know what characters we'd get if we picked those two routes, and possibly all if we picked Revelations. The story had plenty of potential, but all of them failed. Its an unfinished story more or less.

This drama cd not only fleshed out Takumi's character. But made him a relatable human being. Most of his actions are most actions I would do and being overshadowed by your older siblings is pretty hard. I love Takumi so much because of this. And he's one of my favorite characters in this game.
Takumi: *gives heartfelt apology speech*
Me: well I'm glad I chose birthright fi-
Xander: KAMUI!! KAMUI!!
Me: *cries in confliction and regret*
The way he screamed his name was really like a brother just looking and hoping to find his sibling safe
I never got that apology speech, so I don't regret conquest
Does it break your heart that everytime takumi talks about trying to trust someone he brings himself down by saying he is weak. Makes me cry as he is so realistic as a character
Takumi's insecurity is ALWAYS there. He was never able to amount to Ryoma, Ryoma ended up being busy as High Prince, Hinoka was obsessed with trying to save Corrin, and Sakura was the younger sister, and Azura was the mysterious lady from another country. Takumi was never able to fully bond his siblings or was forced into a distance. He's like a child staved of love and yearned for someone to accept him unconditionally. Sure, there was Oboro and Hinata, but that wasn't the same.
Axis oboro gave him lots of support and without them he would have left as he did try in a couplenof before CD when he gave up the fujin yumi
ivanbluecool Yes, it was enough emotional support to keep him going, but only just.
Axis I feel mikoto gave him the parental role he needed but she gave most of that to azura as people hated her in hoshido and mikoto had enough to deal with getting accepted herself so I feel oboro was the only girl who gave him attention and hinata the only friend who wasn't all noble and not able to just be normal with takumi. then kamui come in and he need to get accepted so takumi gets even less time to spend with mikoto and he is 16 so this is the hardest time of his life as he is still hound treated as a child but is legally an adult so it is complicated for him
ivanbluecool There was just a lot to take in and he wasn't able to deal with it. Corrin coming back to their lives, getting along with everyone, becoming the new 2nd Prince and Takumi being the 3rd Prince, and then Mikoto dying, it was just too much for Takumi's heart to take.

takumi is a really well developed character tbh.
his character in conquest especially made him shine.
It's great that Takumi has this inner monologue about how he understands how difficult this choice is for Corrin, and how if it was him in Corrin's situation, he wouldn't know what to do either; he sounded so mature there.... but then he contradicts himself by saying "I'll never forgive him if he picks Nohr", so much for being understanding....

I still think its an understandable for Takumi to say that
If Corrin were to choose Nohr, a country that really isn't good at all, that would mean he would end up fighting against Hoshido, Takumi's home, and in turn would ultimately destroy Ryoma, Hinoka, and Sakura since he chose his Nohrian family over them after they wanted him back for so long
would you be able to forgive someone if they waged war on your land and crushed the hopes of your family?
but would you really betray the people you have grown up with , loved for a (decade?) which would destroy the people who have cared for kamui since he/she arrived? all because u found out they arent your blood family?
It's definitely difficult, but the conflict is still that Nohr is trying to conquer Hoshido. The Nohrian siblings are directly aiding a bunch of war criminals in destroying a peaceful nation. Joining them is understandable, but pretty selfish when weighed against the lives of thousands.

Personally, I wish that the developers didn't end up making the stories seem so black and white. They honestly make it seem like Birthright is the ONLY choice that should be made. There's not enough areas of grey where siding with Nohr to change it from the inside might help, or enough hints that would allow Corrin to want to investigate this darker force.

The entire Nohr path should make you feel bad. Because that's all the Nohr path does, is make you regret your decision.
HTakara82 And that's EXACTLY the problem. The concept of choice is taken away just like that. Not only that, but the story of Conquest had something decent in the making, only to screw it up in the end. Chapter 15. Enough said.

JOIN THE BATTLE IN SMASH!
Screw how xander and big lobster talk. Takumi speaks the truth as xander is stuck as the crown prince and shows saddness when he kills elise. Ryouma only goes crazy. Threatens to let elise did of illness. And fights a losing battle after hiding in the castle to let his family get killed instead of fight with them. Takumi should of had more screen time in the first 6 chapters but even so he still won first place. I am still shocked how much character he had left even after the game finished
There's ALWAYS much more character to draw in when you really get to it. Sure, Support Conversations help, but they are not part of the ACTUAL story. These first two volumes were DEDICATED to Takumi. So of course there was plenty of things to get him.
Axis what would we get from. ryouma. I will protect kamui unless he betrays us. hinoka. please I trained for all this time and have strange emotions. sakura. onii sama. onii sama. onii sama. takumi. too much to explain
ivanbluecool We don't know what they could have given us. They might have done something that would surprise us. But given how Takumi is a sibling character that actually becomes a final boss, I say that he's easily the best choice to use.
He is the best becaue he is the most relatable becauee most people who play the game are about his age and are lost in life like most people and can relate to him. Plus it would be bad for Ryouma as fates would be awakening as he and chrom are similar same as xander. Hinoka has no character in the story as she was made last in place of kagero who has more character and an actual story in conquest. Sakura would be stale as elise is more interesting as elise is helpful in all three paths and does more to convice the family to stop killing for a second and kinda suceeds if not for xander having his pride as a prince. Camilia is conplex but her story is mostly untold as she gives a motherly love to kamui as he has none and she didnt want him to grow up alone like takumi had too. Leo is great and complex as he actually challeges himself. Knows he is inferior to xandr and tries his best to prove himself. Wants to be better recognized by camilia but she already knows he is great and supports him. Xandr sees him as a rival and gives him the boast he need to be his right hand. Makes sure elise knows that all thier mothers are evil but they are family even if they are only half siblings. And especially having conflict with forrest being feminine and getting angry and yelled at by elise and leo even knows he is wrong so he tries to change and forrest helps him remember how he told forrest looked nice in dresses and finds an heir to hand down tree making tomb. I feel leo and takumi should of had a better support than i hate you you hate me. I like reading and sho jee. Lets admit we are friends. I feel they should have talked about being rivals and proving themselves to thier family. I mean kiragi and forrest get along. If anyone will get any character is leo as he is second in the poll and the norh cd is next
I dunno if you can say that that is completely true, but sure, there are plenty of people with their insecurities that desire to be accepted into society and find their way in life. Ryoma and Xander are generally focused onto how the "Lord" character should be in my opinion, and they should have been the Lord in their respective routes.
Hinoka was actually never originally intended to be here but had to be placed in later on. Thus her character never got any real development and she was given a generic personality with a fetish for Corrin. That's it. Camilla at least had a personality that borders on yandare, and it makes sense, given her history.
Sakura is pretty much a stereotype, but she at least had some moments of development unlike Hinoka. She had plenty of potential to go further in her routes, especially in Conquest. Honestly, after what happened, it annoys me how Sakura still held not an ounce of resentment towards Corrin for what happened. Elise being close to Corrin helped out for the routes, because she's just very innocent and just likes to see the best in people, and her support with Xander definitely proves it.
Thing about Leo is that he's also starved for affection like Takumi. He is jealous of Corrin, but he also loved Corrin as well. And while he also felt inferior to Xander, at least with Xander, Leo made Xander realize that he might be overtaken and made him want to try harder, whereas Takumi didn't give that effect to Ryoma because Ryoma is a natural genius. Personally, I liked their support conversations. I think that's actually how one should learn to get along with others. They started things off rough, which makes sense, but then they learn they aren't so different, which pisses them off, but then when they talk, they learn from each other, and then at the end, they realized that they became friends. I don't think it needed to be overly special or anything. It was nice and made perfect sense. Its two guys who just talked and became friends.
My biggest problem with the story is how the paths we are given makes absolutely no sense. Think about it, can you think of 1 good reason why we should pick Conquest, aside from its better gameplay? There was literally nothing that made us feel like we SHOULD go with Conquest, and even the pull of our siblings felt weak in comparison, given how evil the Nohrian kingdom was. Not only that, but there wasn't enough evidence or anything that made Corrin even CONSIDER investigating the darker force behind the war, but I get that Corrin would just decide that he doesn't want to face either family, but still.

Choose Nohr. It's the only way Takumi works out his insecurities.Ah but this is great. We saw a side of Takumi that shows he's a rational human being. But this isn't even about the war, this is truly about sibling jealousy.
