- BEST Trimmer Review‼️ TPOB Troll vs. TPOB X! Two excellent hair trimmers from TPOB (The Pissed Off Barber). The TPOB X is one of the best hair trimmers I've ever used, and I highly recommend it!
The TPOB Troll is a good trimmer, but it's not on the same level as the TPOB X.
PLEASE NOTE: Most TH-camrs make videos for clicks and don’t really care about leading you in the right direction. Most of these “Top Clipper of 2023 & 2024” videos out right now are extremely misleading and false. The fact you’re making these in depth reviews and comparisons is incredible. Having some B roll of the trimmers in use for example, would bring your content to the next level. Keep it up.

I have been following the big names on TH-cam for years, and they all do these three things like clockwork:
1. Unboxings, which I can’t stand.
2. Examples of the trimmers or clippers in use.
3. They give vague recommendations almost like they’re trying to not get blacklisted by a particular company. They will not tell you point blank: “This product is amazing or this product is trash - and here’s why.”
I created my channel to do what others aren’t doing because I think there’s a need for it. Not saying you’re wrong whatsoever. I just don’t see the point in watching someone open a box for five minutes, and I don’t enjoy watching someone show me how a trimmer sets a line. I would prefer for someone to tell me everything about the design, what comes in the box, and then tell me if they think it’s worth buying or not.

TPOB XO Trimmer has the added features: Charging Stand Fast Charging USB C Cord. Cons No trimmer guards, only USA plug. Shame does not come with Europe, UK plug adapters for wider market share.
You are correct. Between the two devices, I would still choose the X over the XO. The XO is a copy of the Cocco Veloce which isn’t as good of a trimmer as the Cocco BLDC (The X). I think you can buy the X and it’ll work in Europe, so that’s good news for you.

Actual sitting and trying to order the Babyliss trim guards right now. I am really exited to know that i actually can trim my beard in that way to😊😊.

Hey! I bout the tpob X trimmer and the hype is real. Just zero gap the blade to my like and cut perfect work faster.. got it about 2 days ago
Absolutely, the hype is real. It’s in my top 6 out of the 25 trimmers I’ve tested, simply because of how well it cuts. The crunching sound it makes is freaking awesome too! If it didn’t have the hook and it came with a nice charging stand, I think I would put it at #1 or #2. It’s that good!
That thing makes the Stylecraft Saber look like a piece of junk. Enjoy it brother!! 💪

I purchased a Style Craft Saber Trimmer a few months back. Best trimmer I have ever owned. However, I wish I would've looked into TPOB. The products have great value for the money. I have a cordless Wahl Senior and I will definitely be considering purchasing a TPOB clipper in the future.

The Saber isn’t necessarily a bad trimmer. Compared to the best ones out there (The X is one of them), it’s just not as good as all the TH-cam influencers say it is. They are mostly paid advertisements and they won’t tell you that which is sad to watch.
The reality is…
Stylecraft is a “hype-train” brand. They pay a lot of TH-camrs to lie to everyone. It took me a long time to figure this out, but their products are very low quality.
What TPOB is doing is amazing. The X trimmer is $95 on Amazon, and when I put it in my hands next to the Saber, it smokes the Saber. The X is better than most $150+ trimmers on the market in my opinion. The quality and way it performs is world-class.
I was just looking into buying the saber but from what I keep seeing is that this tpob x is just as good or better. I’m still stuck on the fence but for the price of the x right now I can get on Amazon for about $89 US dollars and the saber the cheapest I’ve seen is $149. I could buy the X and get me a set of regular clippers to pair with them for the price of one saber trimmer smh.

I have the trolls and they came with the psycho blade preinstalled. I love the way they line up the hairline and remove bulk. But they aren't good for beards as they snag the course hair. And coming from Wahl Mag trimmers, the trolls are sooooo loud.

The Troll now comes with a stand
Are we sure the troll motor is brushless? On the box it just says super torque motor.
The Troll is Rotary just like the LoPROFX, which is what it’s a knockoff of. The X is Brushless just like the Cocco Pro BLDC, which is what it’s a knockoff of.
At this point, we can’t be sure about anything TPOB prints on their boxes or what they put on their website. They are famous for having misprints everywhere.
For example:
The Black/Green Troll says this on their website (which isn’t true):
“comes in our SLIME Green Colourway with matte pink and matte black extra covers.”
The Goblin trimmer says this on their website:
“GOBLIN Trimmer is most powerful trimmer in the world…runs at 11’000 strokes per minute.”
Then, right after that claim, the Troll states this:
“The TROLL runs at 6800-7200 RPM or 13600 strokes per minute.”
I’m pretty sure 13,300 SPM is more than 11,000 SPM! 😂
Misprint… misprint… MISPRINT!!
The Demon says this on their website (which isn’t true):
**Please note you get all 3 colours. Black, Blue and Pink Bodykit included**
You actually get Black, Orange and Green just like the picture.
TPOB’s marketing is all over the place. Take what they say with a grain of salt.
@@clintmallon see I thought that too. But on babyliss website it specifically states the low pro fx are brushless motors. TPOB states this is a super torque motor similiar to the stylecraft rebel clipper/trimmer. Brushless is a rotary motor anyway just without the friction of the brushes that generate a little more heat etc. I just be wanting a definitive answer lmao. Other than that the troll trimmer is a BEAST!! I like it with the psycho blade. And I have the low pro fx and put them down
@traaage7782 look at you man! I like the research you’re doing. You’re correct that brushless is still rotary without the brushes. They’re more efficient, have a longer battery life, they’re quieter, and they generally cost a little more than a traditional rotary.
However, Rotary motors have more torque (so they’re better at removing bulk), they’re the best all-around, and they have the least expensive point of entry. Here’s how I see it:
1. Rotary (Easily the best all-around, across the board)
2. Brushless (2nd best all-around)
3. Vector (The loudest/most expensive. Excellent at debulking)
4. Magnetic (Not even close. This technology is the least desirable bc it doesn’t do anything better than any of the other three)
I’m looking at the BaByliss website now and the LoPROFX says Brushless 6,800 RPM. I think that’s a misprint, just like TPOB with the Troll.
@traaage7782 Also, some companies put misleading info like this out there, which is 110% false:
“The TROLL runs at 6800-7200 RPM or 13600 strokes per minute.”
RPM “Revolutions Per Minute” is a measurement of something that spins. SPM “Strokes Per Minute” is a measurement of something that strokes (like a magnetic motor). They’re not the same.
They put: 6,800 RPM x 2 = 13,600 SPM.
That would mean a 10,000 SPM Magnetic motor / 2 = 5,000 RPM.
LOL! That’s not how it works. 🤦♂️
I do not look to TPOB’s website or their boxes for information because a lot of the time, it’s incorrect. The irritating part is their Web Developer NEVER updates their website and there are typos all over the place.
That’s the only issue I have found with their company. Their products are excellent though.

Hey you sure they don’t use the same charger because I broke my x trimmer charger and was going to buy the troll trimmer for 45 on Amazon instead of buying charger???
This video was filmed a while ago. At the time, I’m certain they were different. Not sure about today.

Not even close.
Can you use the X while it's plugged in?
Of course. You can with the Troll plugged in too.
Most trimmers can be used while plugged in. Some products like the Wahl Retro T-Cut and 4MAS Kion have the cord permanently attached to the stand, so you can’t use the provided cord in the box. But if you have a long USB-C cord for an iPad or Android, you can plug the Kion in and use it corded.
Regardless, the Troll and the X are far superior to the 4MAS Kion, and anything from Caliber, Andis, or Wahl (including the Detailer and Hi-Viz). I wish the Gray Troll with the psycho blade was out when I did this review, because it would score higher than this original version with the three colored housings.

Question, i have the troll with the psycho blade on the way, but would it be better with the x-pro blade and the one cutter ?
Definitely not. I think the Psycho is just as good as any of the top blades on the market. In reality, they all produce 97-99% the same results, so I don’t recommend switching any of your blades around like you see all the TH-camrs doing. It’s a waste of time and money, unless you’re getting boxes of free stuff like they are from sponsors.
The psycho on the troll is awesome. Enjoy it as it is.

I really sympathized with it. The current situation is that many clippers come with guards, but only a few trimmers come with them. I would like to see product development that takes into account not only professional barbers but also the general public. Please tell me the most recommended trimmer that fits the babylisspro guard.

The BaByliss trimmer guards fit all of those, and I simply can’t pick a favorite. They’re all 10’s and each have different things about them that I love.

What’s better the tpob x or cocco trimmer?
The X for sure because it’s less expensive for the exact same thing, and it comes with the Psycho blade which is a better blade. I also think the X trimmer is better than the newer TPOB XO trimmer, which is just a knockoff of the Cocco Hyper Veloce.
I personally will never buy another product from Cocco. I spent $190 for the Cocco Hyper Veloce trimmer (I have a video review of it) and the USB-C charging port didn’t even work.
Stick with the X and you’ll be very happy.

1. Has two charging ports: Standard and USB-C.
2. It has the charging dock.
3. It has a different body that is mostly metal with a bit of plastic at the bottom.
4. It has the power switch on the front instead of the side.
5. It does not have the hook.
To find the differences, look up “Cocco Pro BLDC.” That’s the X. Same devices, same manufacturing line, different branding.
Then, look up “Cocco Pro Hyper Veloce.” That’s the XO. Same devices, same manufacturing line, different branding.
The main point is the Cocco Pro BLDC is a superior product than the Hyper Veloce. I do not like the Hyper Veloce. What this means is the X is a superior product than the XO.
I would not buy the XO, knowing what it actually is. I would buy the X.

I have used the XO and I don’t like it as much as the X. The X is a special device. There’s just something about it as a whole that I like a lot more than the XO.

Will the troll trimmer with Psycho blade be okay for lining up beard and cleaning neck hair up?
Of course. The differences that make one better than another is not how they cut. ALL trimmers can trim hair 95% the same, and ALL clippers clip hair 95% the same. Heck, you can get a $30 Wahl from Walmart that will do the job.
What makes one better than the other is the design, the build quality, the battery life, and the motor.
Is it loud or quiet?
Is it corded or cordless?
Is it metal or plastic?
…things like that. I like the Troll, but I don’t love it. For that price, the TPOB X and Supreme Trimmer Vader are far superior to the Troll.

@@clintmallon I have managed to get the Troll Clippers, Troll Trimmer with psycho blade and the mini skull shaver from TPOB website on an Easter weekend deal.
I’m from the UK and got the bundle for £109 or $136 roughly. So for that price for all 3 I think it was worth trying the Troll first! I will for sure get the X if I don’t get on too well with the Troll 😁
Not trying to knock anyone’s hustle but both these trimmers or on Ali for about half that price .
& they come with guards lol
& the X isn’t replicated off the cocco they use the same manf.
@@erikbarragan2422What I mean by that is the BLDC was out long before the X. The X is not a new or original creation for those who are newer to the game and don’t understand how this works.
Btw… Cocco recently discontinued the BLDC last week, and I think it’s because the X is selling so much better. It used to be priced correctly at $104 for the exact same product with a better blade. They recently increased the price to $114 on Amazon which is making it harder for me to recommend since the price was a major selling point for how little it comes with. I don’t think this was a good move.

Absolutely! I love it. It’s one of the best trimmers on the market - Period. If it came with more “goodies/features” in the box, it would have very little competition. A solid 9.5 out of 10, as is.
