Weirdly enough, having lived in Manipal, my New Year's was pretty exciting but we celebrated on a small scale. Either we just ushered it in at a grand house party or at a bar.
It was more about the atmosphere and the people.
Now I'm in Ames, Iowa. The middle of nowhere in the United States.
Still had an amazing NYE last year because I was amongst all of my friends at a Hole in the Wall bar, The Cubs had won the World Series that year and Champagne was on the house.
It was great. It's more about whom you're with.

This theory about years passing faster actually has some merit to it, though. When you're 5 years old, every year you've lived has been 20% of your life. When you're 20, every year has merely been 5% of your life. And when you're 50, it's just 2%. It seems like over-simplification, but as you get older, it does genuinely feel like every year went by like *that*.
Good to see that you guys are doing this regularly now. Varun has the best stories :) Sometimes when too many people talk at the same time it is too chaotic so I guess just figure that part out !
