For the Trap, change out the Lava for Magma Blocks. Magma Blocks create a bubble column that pulls things down towards them if there's a Water Source Block on top of it, so give that a try.

dwellers are spawning in your house since there’s a spot in the middle of the floor that isn’t lit up enough-you can either put a torch there or use slabs/carpet to make the inside of the house less than three blocks, which isn’t tall enough for these to spawn
To prevent dwellers from spawning in your base, you have to put slabs all over the floor, chests, furnaces, etc, because mobs can't spawn on slabs. I already did it in my Minecraft dweller world, and it worked👍 Also "Areas covered in bottom slabs are unable to spawn mobs, no matter the light level, although double slabs, top slabs and upside-down stairs are still spawnable. Also, dirt path and farmland are partial blocks (15/16th of a block in height) and cannot be spawned upon." I took this from Minecraft Wikipedia. Also, dwellers can not only walk through 1 bloch areas, but they can spawn there.
Vivilly is honestly one of my favorite minecraft youtubers. He's not extremely good or knowledgeable, but he's also definitely not bad at the game, which makes for some really fun content. He is also good at knowing how to moderate what he plays, how long he plays, and how he plays.
The dwellers ai can calculate a couple seconds forward and see if it will get hurt, I suggest putting open gates, instead of signs since signs count as an entity
a couple of adjustments for the trap: 1) you don't need the walls all the way up, it's probably best to keep them submerged for 2-3 blocks, this way the dwellers won't be able to climb upwards. 2) switch the lava for magma (you can find plenty of it in the nether, somewere you should go to for the next ep) so that entities are dragged down. you should also include a door at the end just in case you fall. also change the floor into slabs; that way nothing can spawn inside of the house

Maybe if you use magma blocks instead of lava it may work? But you'd have to rid of the signs. The magma might potentially just suck the dwellers down? Idk. Or alternatively, the more time consuming option, just make a deep pit with lava at the bottom Edit: The wall worked!- or not..
Build walls around the trap that are high enough out of the water that they can't jump out of, then get rid of the water with the sponges, but leave the top layer of water separated with signs. They'll fall down into the water but they'll fall through and fall into the lava.
you could either change the lava to magma blocks, or get rid of some of the water or get rid of all of the water so that they fall down into the lava without a choice
Here some tips for you guys 1. Make a sheep farm and use the wool to make carpet and place them in the house so they don’t spawn 2. When mining make a tunnel so when your getting attacked you can run inside and block yourself in 3.insted of using block for the trap try using another method like fence or slabs… (something that they won’t be able to climb) I hope one of these t̶o̶p̶ tip h̶o̶p̶e̶ help
instead of tossing the last little bit of the shields away, put it together with another shield in crafting and it’ll up its durability (ever so slightly) so it’s not a waste 👍
