I think people tend to forget that build ups are just as important as the drops. A long build up always makes the drop 10x better. This is a perfect example.
I agree 2014 also. I think the drugs changed the whole scene I know not everybody does them but once the tablets started going dodgy in the uk with people dying off them, a lot of people started taking ketamine an started listening to tech house or techno

This set changed EDM. Big Room was playing in the festivals, but wasn't the main subgenre until Hardwell made it at UMF 2013. After that, Big Room dominated Beatport and every EDM festival for the next 3-4 years.

Best set of the big room mainstage era? Definitely. Of all time? No. This is not meant to be "hate" or disrespect. But all of Tiësto's "in concert" shows beat this. Sorry to say that. And his energy 2000 set is widely regarded the best of all time. Ferry comes close, too. And today there are guys like Neelix, Querox, Liquid Soul etc. who play sets as good as this every week. Not to forget the techno legends who are still going strong (carl cox, ritchie hawtin, sam paganini)

Cailum Davis No one ghost produces their tracks, just stupid rumours. And Hardwell did have the best set at Ultra and Tomorrowland, I saw the Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and it was explosive but Hardwell still topped them. Better track selection and better mixing skills.
Your own opinion. Tbh they both use pre recorded sets so hardly any mixing skills in used. That is why I said LaidBack Luke at Ultra. His mixing skills are out of this world, easily topping both DV & LM and Hardwell. :)
People hurt my brain sometimes. Clearly some people are only into house music because they heard Martin Garrix Animals and some SHM and think they understand the genre. House Music between the top DJs around right now; Van Buuren, Hardwell, Tiesto, DV and LM, Afrojack, Aoki etc, is all about working together to create these experiences of House Music you don't forget. Festivals are not concerts. You're meant to go there and get drunk or high or just go crazy when those drops come around and let yourself go and enjoy the moment. I went to Tomorrowland 2013 and believe me the one thing I took is the atmosphere created. Forget the quality of music, we all know that's dwindling in all genres, but that doesn't change the fact House Music will always be around because it creates a night of electrifying enjoyment and inhibition loss. This set is history right here. Definitely was the set that got me into the scene as soon as I turned 18 (and never looked back). Watching everyone dancing and having the time of their lives brings happiness to me. You can definitely see a difference in this crowd to today’s crowd though. FESTIVALS PLEASE COME BACK!!
