The first month is the hardest. It's the lack of familiarity that you are experiencing. You don't know how to get anywhere without GPS, you can't go into the grocery store and know right where your favorite items are, everything you experience is new. You have to "find" everything - somewhere to go to work for the day, somewhere to sleep for the night, somewhere to go to the bathroom, whatever it might be. And you are probably telling your story over and over again because people ask why you are traveling, where are you headed to, what brings you to these parts. Give it some time, it will get better. A routine is hard to find but find some sort of thing that can become your routine. You are doing great! You have way more followers that I do and you are getting all kinds of support. You can do hard things! If you were my daughter, I would be proud of you!
Your editing style, characterized by sound effects, edit overlaps with sound delays, smash edits, quick fire vocal highs and lower voice, comical voice inflections, and syllable stretching, has created a completely unique and entertaining delivery unlike much of the TH-cam van/car folk. I’m not a nomad of any type. I simply have the time to find unusual sources of entertainment that stand out. Great personality!
Madison, i love how candid and honest you are in your videos. Focusing on the present is key, but i think your future is so bright; you'll have to wear shades.
My first years out there taught me that you need someone to share your experiences with. We are a pack animal. Soldarity is hard and i understand those who embrace it because i have. It takes a person like you to actually understand you and i do. You will find a friend out there but dont hold to tight like i did. I still think of them but ill never see them again. Its a sad world but we are strong and persevere. Stay strong chickey, we need more like you. And thanks for the videos. I for one feel the sincerity of your decision. When i told my mom goodbye the first time i thought id never see her again and i balled my eyes out. Its human to do all these things. 😅
!!! You guys are literally angels- Thank you so much! This really helps out, now I'll stop by Aldi and restock my fridge 😆 Thank you to the moon and back! 🌟🙏😭💌🎉
congratulations on becoming part of NomadLife!! some things to keep in mind..decision fatigue is real. living this way the decision are endless, eg do i have enough food, water, fuel, heat, and where am i sleeping and a 100 other things, every day. it wears on you. so please make time for days off an enjoy being still in this beautiful country!
Your not in a good location yet! Once you arrive you will instantly know it. For me it’s half way thru Texas heading west. I start feeling like I can breathe again. I notice that I’m taking deep breaths and smiling a lot. That’s when you’re in your happy spots. Mountains, Deserts and the sea is when I feel the best.
I just found you Madison darlin' and I just love you. I'm more than twice your age but we are from the same generation in terms of culture, a counterculture. I grad hs in '68 - in very style conscious Dallas, the girls were wearing their hair in wedges, I know this cause i had two older sisters, but BANG the Shag hit the next year especially through the era when I was at U of Texas at Austin, the anti-war hippie era. (Linda Ronstadt photos I bet.) So muy exellente on the hair cut. I really really dig your attitude. I live adjacent to the Comanche National Grasslands in southeast Colorado near La Junta - yes Colorado has great plains as well as mountains, some people dont' know that. Anyhow our paths are divergent because I am a nomad half the year as well and travel the west mostly. I am however heading east through Tennessee this summer. I love living on the road. You know what it is - try this on for size - on the road you have to constantly account for your very survival. In the moment you must live and account for your very survival - each day, the very basics of survival must be accounted for anew. Get it? I think you might. I'm going to sell this homeplace on the Arkansas River, upgrade my camper, but just a little, it's a VW Eurovan and I don't want any bigger, and then hit the road full time. I have a house in Monte Vista. If you ever need a place to boondock incl shower laundry bed etc you're welcome to look me up. I'm on fb. Bill Evans Colorado. You're wonderful!!!
I'm also in Florida! Over near the Tampa Bay area. I've done van life in the past, and I'm currently getting my new van ready so that I can start doing some traveling again. I have a property, but I plan to do a lot of traveling in my van and have a nice off and on type van life. Lol Hope you have safe travels! You've got a new sub.
Moved to Washington 30 years ago. So when you get here, WELCOME. You will love the mountains, valleys and ocean. Don't know your plans for stays but if you didn't know, we have no Cracker Barrels to stay at, which I miss, being from Ohio. Best of travel!!
Loving it. Love your style, and the feeling of freedom you exemplify. Love your editing as well. I just started van life less than a month ago and im feeling good. Safe travels 🫶🏾
Enjoyed your video. Very informative and it seems you have a plan and goal👍. Planning myself to do a road trip hiking and camping across our great nation eventually landing in Seattle. I hope your trip to the Pacific Northwest is successful and educational while you travel across the country but most of all have “Fun” getting there👍. Safe travels
I love your energy! I'm glad I came across your chanel! I started vehicle dwelling at 43 and a channel at 46 lol! You're already hip to so much! All the best to you fellow nomad! Blessed and happy travels!❤️✨️🙏🏽
I remember when I did TH-cam over 10 years ago. You need a lot of views and a lot of subscribers. The big thing that’s really popular now is the Patreon accounts. If you can get enough people on it may help you big time early on until you bring in more subscribers and views. Once you reach a certain threshold with the subscribers. Companies will start reaching out to you to either send you free items for review or to pay you to advertise their items.
I wish you the best on your journey. 🙂 I'm in a somewhat similar place in my life, as far as freelancing and trying to figure out my next direction, but I'm twice as old as you. I'm almost 52. I was just watching a video before this one about how the rise of van life is a symptom of the breakdown of traditional society. That video seemed to long for the 1950's Barbie Erma Bombeck lifestyle, with a cottage style house, a factory job for dad, and mom staying home with the 2.2 beautiful children. But I also watched another video from Bob Wells recently, about how humans have been on the planet for over a million years, and for all of that time except for the last millennium or so, humans lived in nomadic tribes. So from that perspective, it's actually being stationary that's the anomaly, and being nomadic is the normal natural way for humans to live. Just something to think about. Cheers,
Hello from Osaka! Japan trip going on, but checking here during downtimes. Amusingly, the thanks purchase wants to be in Japanese yen, so I'll need to wait until I get back to send gas monies, etc. Maybe patreon will be smarter... Best of luck on your journey! BTW, most McDonalds have free wifi.
Hi! omg I love Japan, I have a pen pal there and I travel with her pictures in my van 🥲💌 Any support helps, I m just glad that you want to support my channel - just watching and commenting is enough!
This is Not only aimed at you in particular. My pet peeve is when staying in a business lot & don't spend any money with that business. I won't even use a Gas station bathroom without buying something. ;)
I thought you said in another past video some time ago, that you live in new york - Yonkers or NYC, but in this video you said you are a Floridian. 26 is a good age, by the way. I remember those days.
I wish you well on your new life on the roads. And I will follow, like, and subscribe IF the videos are not filled with the ever-present distracting music so popular with youtubers. Think of it this way. If you are experiencing the peace and quiet solitude of your journeys, whether in your car or out in nature, viewers like it too😊. I like to watch these videos to relax, not to be entertained. If music and relaxation go together for you, that's fine. And in a viewer's own environment, it's a choice. So by watching your videos, we get your choices, but ours gets taken away. And that's sad😔.

If you cook with more water and season pack before not after its more watered down. And hoisin sauce helps
