In the #2 video, you were questioning the rig location for the horizontal tail in the "zero" or neutral rig position. On the real airplane the neutral rig position for the front tip of the horizontal stab is actually one (1) roundhead rivet installed on the sponson frame. If you research some very early photos of the F-14, especially the prototypes, you will notice a very small black painted rectangle, just AFT of the red turbine warning stripe, just before the curve of the fuselage down to the engine doors. It will be harder to notice on later ships due to the ghost gray paint. That one small roundhead rivet (a 3/16 roundhead) is within that painted area and is where neutral was set on every airplane, all 712. I was an F-14 Plane Captain at Grumman, Calverton and rigged F-14 flight controls as well. Hope this helps. I wish I could send a photo. Enjoying this project progression. Tim
At 15:40, just before you touched the stab, that is very close to neutral, after you moved it, it was much too high.
Thanks 😊
What an absolute awesome model.
Thanks!
Beautiful plane, fantastic work my friend.
Thanks a lot!
Excellent progress .. Thank you Jonathan 🙏🏻
Thank you!
Hello, I'm from Brazil and I'm a big fan of your work. and I'm a big fan of the planes you make, beautiful work
Thank you very much!
Coming along nicely. Beautiful aircraft.
Many thanks!
What a Beast !! Love the F-14 Tomcat, Excellent job on this one, much respect for your attention to detail. 👍
I'm tired of hearing that other pilot's are calling you out and slipping up on camera. Let's see them make video's as well as you. I'm still watching your videos while building myself in the workshop. My Recreation room/workshop:)
😊
Thank you! 😊
@thelightersideofrc honestly, man, I think it's just jealousy. You are doing something you love doing, and you have a huge following. Maybe they deal with that by finding faults and trying to exploit you on them. All the grown-ups here don't care, lol. Keep up the great video content
Congratulations to the mad bastard that can afford to own and fly this thing.
😎
looking AWESOME
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice work ❤
Thanks 🔥
The GOAT of jet building brings us another exciting vid of this BiG boy. Thanks Mr. J😂
Thank you very much!
The size of this jet is absolutely insane
Yea it’s pretty nuts!
Not only do i want this, i wan a Robotech version like a "Super Strike VF-1S"
😎
Awesome work as usual. I wonder if you could give me some advice please. I am trying to finish off a Blackhorse viper 120mm but having interference issues with my retracts. The wing retracts are causing interference with my ailerons and flaps servos. I am using the click connect for the wings but I am not sure how to resolve this problem and you seem to be one of the more knowledgeable men in this hobby.
Couple suggestions.
1. if the retracts are powered from the signal lead than this won't work. If they are powered separately than disconnect/cut the red wire from the signal lead. and/or if they have a separate power lead, remove the signal lead from the power lead.
2. If your gear controller is close to receiver, add separation.
Most problems like this can be traced to something.
@@thelightersideofrc Thank you very much for taking the time to respond, you are a true gentleman and this hobby needs more people like you. The retracts have their own power supply from a 2S lipo. The problem stems from the wing retracts as when disconnected and I cycle the nose retract I get no issues. You are absolutely right, I will trace the problem, wish you were nearer and I could have asked you to build it as you do awesome work.
Wow, that's some busy shop!
Are you doing this full time now?
Yes! Lots going on! This is full time and my previous career is part time.
For such an expensive and gorgeous jet the painted rivets and overdone "weathering " gives it the looks like it was made by Blackhorse or Seagull. Kinda surprised to see the oldschool clevis links on these big scale models. Never to old to learn lol.
🙌😎
Hi
🙌😎
Which snakeskin did you end up with for the PB Wire?
The 1/8" size.
awesome! Why did the gear need "servicing"? What does that mean? thx!
Always remove and everything has to be loctited. All items checked over and flat spots added.
no apology necessary. the "slats" atop the wings are called spoilerons.
😎🙌
When is the F18 and F15 XXL’s arriving? 😇🤭
HAHA. Fall and build for the 2025 season!
Jeez no manual that's a bit rough as she is a complicated lil puppy.😮 Nice work on Rudders they ain,t gonna Flutter 😂😅 tail hook worked out pretty snazzy.😅 Keep at it now. 😅😅
Servo motor.......
🤔
You're to focused on lok tite.
Most of us here are very focused on loctite. We don't like our hard work going down the toilet because a servo arm fell off
Yes!!!🙌
