    Fair comments. I've put just over 600km on my pair and really like them. True to size, more lively than La Sportiva, slightly poor heel lockdown, excellent build quality. Have run tempo in them but prefer them for the classic long run up to 3 hours, after that I kinda want something with a little more bounce. Currently liking the Merrell Agility Peak 5 for long days, especially if there's some tarmac or gravel roads on route.

    Nice one, thanks. As a retailer (The Complete Runner Ilkley) I've been "offered" the brand today. So thank you, your hard work on this review is much appreciated in deciding how to go forward!

    Thanks for the review. I am really interested in the Tomir because of the harder foam. I have sensitive feet and run in the rugged Rockies in Colorado. Years of running Salomon shoes have been too soft and destroyed my feet. I like what you said about, “would I buy it again?” That’s a great question. I’m on my second HOKA Speed Goat and would definitely buy another pair of the HOKA.

      The Tomir handles rocky terrain really well. My feet never get tired like that in this shoe.
      The Speedgoat is one of the best selling shoes of all time for a reason 💯

    I love the Tomir 1.0. Such a solid shoe for running in the mountains. Amazing traction, excellent lockdown, stability, and comfort. I am on my second pair and the first pair is still going strong after 400 miles. IMO the 1.0 is better than the 2.0.

      Some great deals about for the 1.0 at the moment

    I’m at the end of my second pair of tomir I did get the waterproof option and neither pair had the front fault like yours my 1st pair did 1100km 😮 my second have just past 1200km they have lug wear but don’t look too bad. I only run trails obviously and have ran an more than one ultra in both pairs they are the toughest shoe I’ve had ( I ran in cloud ultras before ) I loved this review as it answered a question about the Kjerag that I was wondering thanks 🙏

      @irunovermountains  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great feedback - thank you. I think the toe bumper issue only affects some running styles, but they appear to have added stitching to the Tomir 2 to address that.

      Just hit 1300km they are finished now 😝 interesting how far they went mainly sold sole wear ordered next pair ready for new year 👌

    My 2 pair of Speedgoat 5s just died 😕
    I was looking for the Tomir 2s, I’ve heard they will have the Kjerags mid sole 😍. Unfortunately they are not out yet

      @irunovermountains  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m looking forward to trying that sole upgrade too 🤓

    Hi mate thanks for review. It always cracks me when someone runs 30 miles and speaks about the shoes. Not sure if you read your reviews or no. Funny thing you mentioned Mutant and Akasha shoes both I had ran both ran over 800k in both of them, flattening the logs and sadly destroying upper. Would you say that Tomir durability in respect La sportivas ?

    • @irunovermountains
      @irunovermountains  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I hear ya 🫡 I think Nnormal build quality is close to La Sportiva, maybe even better. I’ve run several pairs of Mutants & Akasha, but I’ve never had Kjerag or Tomir volume out of them. That said, Sportiva are WAY better on rocky terrain than the Nnormal shoes. I wouldn’t switch if you’re happy. I’ve actually been running tons in my Mutants this year.

    Currently running in the Kjerag and really like them. Run up to 22k in them was looking at the Tomir for longer distances, but seeing your review hmm 🤔 I’m thinking maybe stick with the Kjerag, I’ve got a mountain Marathon with Celtic Trail Races in December I’ll risk it with the Kjerag

      Norda 001 might be a good option. Expensive, but last a long time

    Thanks to you, I realized that these shoes are not what I wanted. I prefer the one with better cushioning. Thx.

    Curious to hear a review of Norda 002...they seem similar.

    • @irunovermountains
      @irunovermountains  ปีที่แล้ว

      Very different. The 002 feel very small and low profile by comparison

    Great review Aaron. i have the tomir and it isn't the shoe i expected but still loving it here in the Lakes. would i buy it again? Good question. Maybe but there are a lot of shoes out there i would rather try. agree totally that a certain amount of "Kilian love" went into the purchase. Keep on keeping on bud.

    • @irunovermountains
      @irunovermountains  ปีที่แล้ว

    Great review, thanks mate. I reckon you should trim the toe and make them your festival shoe! Excellent grip for the dance floor/mosh pit 👌🏼

    Do you recommend these for long hikes with all kind of terrain? Trying to decide between Tomir and Mafate.

    • @irunovermountains
      @irunovermountains  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can actually get a Tomir hiking boot, but you could definitely hike in the shoe. I think the Tomir would last much longer than the Mafate, but the Hoka might feel softer underfoot. Grip would be similar. I think the Tomir looks nicer too 😎

  • @markthomasson5077

    A bit of ShoeGoo would soon fix that toe.
    Non squidgy foam…isn’t that what you want if it is to last?
    (Though with 8mm drop, not for me)

    These or the norda 001?

    • @irunovermountains
      @irunovermountains  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. I’d probably go Norda as the foam is softer and feels nicer for those longer efforts, but I’d caveat that as the Norda grip is nowhere near as good as the Tomir, so resole them with Vibram Zegalite. That’s what I did. I’m thinking about going a Norda 001 review. What ya think?
