This is probably one of the best 2nd to last area themes, the song really feels like you're approaching the end of a long journey, this is one of the best choices to remix and it proves it by feeling like it does belong in SM64. Great job
this is probably one of the best revisions of this games music using this particular soundfont, since all the other ones ive been able to find were just lazy midiswaps. This is really impressive, I hope you keep making more in the future!
@@dentedcontroller honestly midiswaps can still sound good if you do like really good instrument choices and modify the actual sequence a bit where needed. But remaking from scratch while taking more effort almost always sounds better tbh .nothing about your stuff has felt off so far despite being redone from ear and i think thats just impressive
@@kattnip500 exactly! I have heard some well-crafted midiswaps (and some pretty terrible ones lol), but I've always preferred the greater level of control that transcriptions have. Instrumentation especially plays a bigger role in how a piece sounds than many people seem to realize. I spend a lot of time with instrumentation when making these covers.
