I think one reason is that these tracks have mostly brass intruments, and I thing David primarily plays string instruments...? I mean I don't really know, just a guess, like most of these tracks sound like they'd require more than just Tommy and David, there are usually several horns playing, and lots of percussion, maybe they didn't have a full touring band put together and rehearsed for this show for whatever reason. It's still was really cool though
