Ally, I’d like to thank you from the heart. You are one of the most inspirational artists i could find on YT.. so much so that, exactly one year ago, after watching your Eastbeast video’s, you pushed me into the euro-hole.. Your sounds, your music, the simplicity and clearness of your technical breakdowns.. big ❤
Rings is inexhaustible! Always something you can do combining it with other modules or effects, and producing an unexpected sound. Haven’t tried an LPG yet, some nice ideas here 😉
Optomix has level and damp controls. It is also a mixer. One of the LxD halves has a bit of resonance. If you go by reading on the internet, most people prefer LxD. I like them both, but might like Tokyo Gate the most.
Optomix’ two channels are identical, unlike LxD. Which means it can also be used for stereo purposes, i.e. an entire mix. It also has sidechaining capabilites, in a special vactrol kind of way.
by far the best euro content creator i have seen. the type of licks you create are so useful for actual music then any other euro content creators ive seen which usually ends in old school 80s bleepy bloopy stuff that turns me off from the euro scene. i have to ask though how are you post producing? you using izo or fabfilter etc...? light comp and eq or heavy processing? you end product sounds very good.
Thanks man! I'm not really a fan of listening random bleeps and bloops or raw oscillators with filter sweeps so I try make it as musical as possible. In post I mostly use the stock Ableton plug-ins; EQ, compression, Drum Bus on the drums. Occasionally I'll use the Vulf Compressor on the drums too, and a bit of reverb on the high end. That's about it really!
@@TheUnperson lol. So true. Like i said i gave in an just purchased my first rack after watching your videos seeing you can make real music rather than noise. Got about every module you have except rings and beads. Going to wait and see if vcv rack will suit my needs for a bit. Awesome to know about post production. Your post production skills are very good! Lookin forward to your next content!

I continue to be impressed by the huge range and quality of sound you are getting out of such a wee and adorable Eurorack setup.
Cheers man! I much prefer working with smaller setups - it means I have to get creative to coax new sounds from it! :D

Thank you for your kind words ~ it really mean a lot ☺️ Hope you’re enjoying the modular rabbit hole!!
The last patch with the Pam's gates is... Absolutely lovely.
Thank you! :D
Great content as always.
Let's get this man to 100k!
haha cheers man! That would be lovely :D
I was actually thinking of trying rings with an lpg the other day then I stumbled across this, sounds lovely.
It’s a great combo indeed!
You gotta make a record with all these ideas. Shit's wicked!
I know man 😅 definitely gonna release something this year!
One consistent thing I keep getting from your vids is that maybe an Impact is something I need.
I really like the impact - it seems to sit very nicely in the mix and has some punch and character!
Love lowpass gates, we have a few. They all have their own lovley character. Keep the great vids coming. x
Now I want more lol thanks! ☺️
I think this video even better explains how Rings and Nautilus pair up.. thanks Professor
They do play very nicely together!
Rings is Back! vol 34! ❤
Great sounds, I like ST modular's clipping cat for this effect. Lpg's defiantly add character.
I'm not familiar with this module - gonna check it out!
Very musical and rich synth playing, well done! Hope to hear a release from you
Thank you! Hopefully I'll release something again sometime - sooner rather than later! lol

I agree! I've had it for soooo many years and keep coming back to it :)
You say Rings or Plaits, and I'm watching🙃🙃
haha good to know!!
thanks for the vid!
and also for bringing CV control of ADSR release to my attention - it's the small things that never occur to me that make this stuff so worthwhile!
thank you! It's one of my favourite tricks :D @@russ254
Does rings accept chords over cv? I never realised that! I knew it plays chords itself but didn’t know yo7 could send it multiple notes at once
Not exactly.. if you open the damping control all the way then you can layer 4 notes in a drone kinda way :)
Do you have a modular grid link for your setup? Just curious!
I used to but these days I change my rack setup every week for a video so I’d have hundreds of different configurations on there lol
❤
what is the difference between Optomix en LxD?
Optomix has attenuators?
Optomix has level and damp controls. It is also a mixer.
