- I've been really enjoying module combo videos lately. Mutable Instruments Rings is a legendary sound source in the Eurorack realm, and Qu-Bit Electronix Nautilus is a very organic sounding digital delay. I think they work well together and some of the jams in this video were a lot of fun to make!
If you have any module combo ideas then share them with me! :D

Hi Ali - I think i know where that firmware is on github, but youtube keeps deleting my comments. Is there another way to contact you? EDIT: Nevermind - found your FB page & messaged you there.
Some absolutely inspired patches here
Cheers man!
Always a favourite YT moment in my week when Ali …aka The Unperson …pops up with a video. Love the channel , learnt loads so keep ‘em coming 🙏
Thanks for the very kind words ~ I really appreciate it ☺️
Tech aside, 6:25 onwards is just a wonderful piece of music. Thank you for showing these modules producing something emotional like this.
Thanks for the kind words ☺️
The last patch got viiiiiibes !
As always, you got me psyched for modules I didn't have the money to buy 🤣
Nautilus is a strange beast that I have yet to master.
Love it. And I totally understand what you mean. I cant work with too many modules. Constriction breeds inventiveness.
Thank you! Same.. I get anxiety when I see those massive cases with thousands of cables lol
inspiring as always, cheers
Thank you!
So good mate. Thanks for entertaining and informing. Love your channel. 👌
Cheers man! Very much appreciated ☺️
Nice tips.
Great patches.
Sound is fantastic!

Cheers buddy!
Every time you post something you get my mind running. ✌️🙌
Glad to hear it! ☺️
can´t get enough Rings Vids from you. Thx
It’s testament to the quality of the module ☺️
Looks like you’ve made it to 10.1k subscribers. You deserve it. Thank you for a musical, thoughtful and creative channel.
I did! Thanks for your kind words ~ it’s really appreciated ☺️
Loved the low pass gate jam ! Soon 10 k !
I liked that one too! Cheers man! ☺️
A really nice video ! Inspirational patches ! ❤
Thank you! ☺️
@@TheUnperson keep up the passion of sharing this !
The change at 11:39 was crazy. Awesome video as always!
I like that bit too 😃
can’t wait to pair my nautilus with rings 🤩
your videos are amazing.. It's really hard to watch so many cool tips and inspiration in EVERY single video posted...
🙌
Thank you! I try to make every video fresh ☺️
This has made me want to get a nautilus.
As for module combos: I love distortions... and I would love to see some videos on distortion modules..
Thanks for the idea! I have a Rabbit Hole from Apollo View ~ will add it to the list!
6:21 blew me right away! Have you considered releasing any of these jams as standalone songs? I would definitely listen to it if you did.
Thanks! I probably should do something like that yea, I’m very short on time these days. I will hopefully release something new soon 😃
uh, that patch at 6:20 deserves a sub. You should do a jam on it, so I can put it in my Best Synth Jams 23 Playlist :D
Haha cheers! I do plan on making more stand-alone jam vids in future :)
Great work thanks. The alternative firmware for rings sound interesting if you find it please do a video on it.
Thanks! Yea hopefully I can get it up and running ☺️
Content Request: More taiga videos please! Loved those original 3 or 4 videos you did with that unit and I am still looking to get more out of mine.
Good idea! I haven’t done any Taiga stuff for a while ~ will add it to the list!
More combo videos!!! (Plaits and Maths maybe??)
Or Maths and Qu-Bit Chord maybe? Some better understanding of Maths more complex functionality essentially
Good idea! I’m long overdue to make a video about maths!
Also loved the LPG patch, lovely stuff. In that patch is rings droning and being gated by triggering the LPG, or is it more rings is doing something plucky and both rings and the LPG being triggered by the same signal?
Yea, it’s not in full-on drone mode but it’s got a decent amount of release, and the rhythmic sound is coming from the LPG being triggered by a snappy envelope:)
@@TheUnperson thanks!
If you're looking for ideas, how about using a few modules that aren't oscillators and use them as oscillators.
Great idea! Will add it to the list :)
Great sounds! Nautilus > Data Bender?
Thanks! They’re both very different, and both very good! 😃
FX Pro !!
Hey Allie (sp?), have you thought about a "how i make videos" episode? Like, planning, set dressing, video/mic gear, etc..
That’s a great idea actually! I’ll add it to the list ☺️
I recently bought a Nautilus I had to.. one of my jobs I work poolside watching and listening to the sounds of water..but I am struggling to make it sound ss good as you..
It definitely takes a bit of tweaking to find the sweet spots ~ keep with it! ☺️
@@TheUnperson ..yeah I am surprised I haven't had better immediate results but I did just get it.. I have a bunch of different eurorack effects.. 2HP Delay, 2 HP Verp,Tiptop Audio Zverb, Happy Nerding FX Aid, Pittsburgh Modular Verbtronic, Blue Lantern Dwarf Star Delay,, Make Noise Desmodus Versio, Strymon Starlab and Magneto ..I will keep at it.. thanks again Professor..
I’ve owned a rings for a couple years now, and I still don’t understand what the structure knob does, other than totally fuck up the tuning. I love both of these modules though!!
Haha yea it moves something that changes things, often the tuning!
The "resonator" is composed of karplus style delays (string) or bandpass filter bank. There are many of these stacked in parallel with different pitches. The Structure parameter sets the way the pitches are spaced out.
does Rings do anything interesting to drums? (this is so fucking beautiful btw)
Do morohagene with data bender and nautilus lol.
I don’t have a morphagene, but do have a Lubadh ~ could yield similar results!
@@TheUnperson definitely havent seen much with lubadh so would be awesome to see its capabilities man. Make some more fire lol.
