About opal beach and fort Pickens, the $25 entrance fee is good for 7 days. If you pay to go to fort Pickens on a Monday you can show your receipt at opal beach and it won’t cost you anything else to use for the rest of the week. The pavilions at opal are rented separate from the entrance fee. Also if you go to either and the guard shack is unmanned you can drive right thru without paying the entrance fee, I was told that by a National parks ranger that works there.

I haven't been to Navarre. A chill scene is OK since I'm 62 and past the age for wild night life. I have been to Pensacola and liked the beach. The water and sand were awesome. I usually stay in condos for vacation so I'll cook and eat one meal out. Which area is better for 55 plus?

Yes Navarre is much more chill than Pensacola and the beaches are fantastic. It does seem that there is a good amount of 55+ in Navarre beach. Only thing is you do have some mixed in Airbnb properties. Thank you for watching, let us know if we can answer any further questions.

I have vacationed about a dozen times on the Gulf Coast, usually in Pensacola Beach. My neighbor goes with a large family group to Navarre Beach. They love Navarre, I prefer Pensacola just because the rental options are greater and there are more restaurants. My wife and I are on either side of 70. The proximity to the city of Pensacola is probably the big reason why we go there. My neighbors group cooks and stays around the house and beach. It just depends what type of lifestyle you prefer.

where is the best town? that is decently affordable? doesn’t have to be a beach town, just within the hour range would be amazing. Pensacola originally came to mind because of the prices but i’m not sure about traffic and night life i’d like it to be calmer but still have things to do.
