Ever since I heard La Frontera about 2 years ago when I bought Lhasa's album I loved this song, and for some reason it always made me think of Mexico. I always pictured colourful houses and ponchos and sombreros! What a great coincidence! Beautiful country I think, hopefully I'll visit someday.
those are some increible pictures.. and that town is soo beautiful and full of history.. i drove past there on my way to guanajuato and Miguel hidalgo.. nice video!
@TheCrazyCandi Hi Candi, many thanks for your comments. I used a Nikon D200 SLR and several Lumix point-and shoot digital cameras with Leica lenses. Kindest wishes from magical San Miguel, Horace
Hi tinkermi, many thanks for your kind comments and I've answered the same question regarding the identity of the incredible singer in Spanish several times (see comments below). Kindly click on the 'more' in the 'About This Video' window above and you'll note the soundtrack is Lhasa de Sela's 'La Frontera' from her album The Living Road '03.
Saludos, Horacio
Ben's been a charter member of Sunday morning's free-dance exercise group calle 'Danza del Alma' that meets in the ballet room of Bellas Artes. Some of the group, including Ben, went to Posada San Francisco for brunch that Sunday the photo was taken.
Hi Linda, San Miguel's gothic 'Parish' church (Paroquia) has a beautiful interior with many chapels, however interiors were not included in the TH-cam upload as other images more representative of San Miguel's colonial heritage and rich culture would have had to be replaced in order to keep the view time to 3 mins. I can't recall any candle lit or torch night processions during the past three years that I've resided in San Miguel. Saludos, Horacio
Fuertes abrazos, Marlon
I was in San Miquel many, many years ago and the one thing I remember about it was the church. I love the interior of it but you don't have any picture of it. My question is it still standing? I do remember people coming down at night in celebration of source. We could see the candle lights or torch lights for miles. You also don't have pictures of that. Do they still do that? I was only in my mid 20's I am now in my 60's so it would be nice to know.
I love San Miguel de Allende, one of my favorite places to visit in Mexico. Mexico has a lot of great touristic destinations, each one of then completelly different to the others. I'd like to share with you a little taste of this beautiful city -almost unknown by the Mexicans themselves- in the State of Veracruz, ORIZABA. Check out the videos about this historical city of Mexico. Cheers. MonjaAlferez09 .
Hi Marianne, I recall in 'Frida', Lila Downs sang two tracks while Chavela Vargas sang another two and appeared in a cameo with her trademark 'trensas' (braids) while singing 'La Llorona.' Lhasa's release of 'La Frontera' in '02 has to be the most beautiful Mexican song of the past ten years...that's why I chose it. Unfortunately Lhasa's musical output since '02 has been very uneven. Pleae check out the soundtracks on all my nine TH-cam video uploads. Many thanks for writing, Horace
@clairesdance Hi Claire, I hope you, your sister, Mom & Dad come back to San Miguel soon and join us Sundays at Danza del Alma followed by brunch at a a restaurant nearby like Posada Carmina where I took your beautiful photo four years ago. Besitos, Horace

This is the SMA which inspires visitors to become residents. Great montage.
