What do you think the future of tourism is?

Cultural Tourism is definitely on the incline, with the desire for people to have an immersive experience not a 'westernised' product.

@@joannebrown8639 yes, I can see that just by the increased views on an article that I wrote about cultural tourism! I should make a video on it too.

The video underreport the most important reason for tourism in all times: RELIGION. The CRUSADERS SUCCEEDED to retake holy lands for the most part (that’s why England ended up with great chunks of it). The desire to learn and explore came from the primary desire to evangelize and save those who were ignorant of G’d’s plan of redemption of mankind via CHRIST, the Jewish Messiah and of the world. That’s why the first empire, Portugal launched itself to open the discovery ages. To save those who were not considered humans by seculars. The Church defended that all those wide tribes and savages were G’ds children and made by His image. Then the economical reasons came in second. To this day, religion tourism is number one in the majority of the countries. From Antiquity to Today, RELIGION has been the motor of tourism. Not the “happy idea” of exploring, “exploring” bla bla. All the cultural curiosity and exploration came as a sub product of Religion. Please BE FAIR. 💕

Very nice and informative video, which I use in instructing my English stundent when working with the topic tourism, BUT I disagree with your statement that technological development and development in infrastructure is or was the number one reason for development of tourism. Even though quite important, I think the foundation of tourism is that people have the means to travel - and that is true for all ages or periods in human history. People have to have the means to travel in order for tourism to develop, and the means are 1) Money and2) time. There have always been people who had plenty of both, but they only represent a very small percentage of the total population. Sure the European nobility took on their so called "Grand Tour", but ordinary people had neither the money nor the time to travel. We can first talk about tourism in our modern sense of the world from a time when people got regulated workhours and vacations. Here Britain with their industrialisation was the forerunner, but it soon spread to the other industrialised countries. but in reality we can first seriously talk about tourism in the modern sence from after WWII, the 1950s and 60s with ever increasing economies and labour welfare. Package tourism for "everyone" became normal. A new boost in that direction was the arrival of low cost airlines like Ryanair - which led to masses taking off and really boosting masstourism to a point where cities like Barcelona and Venice start disliking tourist and demanding "tourists go home"....

Great video, but I think you are mixing up travel and tourism.. they are not the exact thing.. every tourism includes travel, but not every travel is for tourism.. when sb goes to spread their religion, for example, they are going on a mession.. traveling for trade is not the same as tourism..
