    I liked Connor after I finished the game as I realized what his character really was , not boring , he is the strong silent type like master chief , he talks with action more than words , he is very wise beyond his years at least later in the game .

      darkslifer #27 - Nope, he is right. Connor is more quiet and everything he does is not for him but for his people and freedom. At the end he is completely different person as everybody he knew died or left. He has a sad story and I like his good personality.

    • @joshgrabinski
      @joshgrabinski 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      M3RS see that sounds like an excuse and a terrible one at that because its true for nearly every protagonist in the games. Yet connor is still awful

      @M3RS. 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      darkslifer #27 - Yea OK say what you want. The ,,everybody died..." and stuff I know about that. But I am not going to argue because it's pointless. Just because Ezio got most games everyone likes him (At least most people)

    • @joshgrabinski
      @joshgrabinski 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      M3RS i prefer bayek and edward to ezio. Bayek lost his son and i can tell you just by looking at my parents that that changes a person, edward lost nearly everything by the last mission but even then still had personality and a sense of humor. Which is exactly why i say master cheif is nothing like connor because cheif has a pretty good sense of humor. Bayek is the 1700s equivalent to an emo kid who tells his mom its not just a phase.

    What about Connor and Charles in the pub at the end of the game ? This was one of the best scenes : they don't say anything, they just sit here as two men broken by war knowing that this battle between them will end. That bottle-sharing and the head-to-head moment were awesome.

      ***** he did smile. Many times in fact. But of course he's gonna act cranky and serious. Let's go over the details. He watched his mom burn alive, he found out his own father ordered the burning of his village, he wanted his best to try and help end the Templars and British control in America but his mentor held him back for being too naive (which he was a little), he was assigned with the task of murdering his own father, he found out that the man he had been helping win the Revolutionary War (George Washington) was the one who burned down his village, many members of his village turned against him, making him kill his childhood friend, and he actually kills his dad. If any of this happened to you, I'm sure you wouldn't be all happy go-lucky either

    So, if you're wondering about future inaccuracies in games "prided" on historical accuracy, remember that Assassin's Creed came to fruition because one of the devs behind Prince of Persia didn't think princes could ever be warriors. Just let that sink in for a moment. A game prided on historical accuracy came about because of the devs historically inaccurate knowledge.

    • @ArmLegLegArmHead47

      Malik 28 No...Patrice Désilets didn't like how the games were taking the Prince and said the following and has been quoted saying "The problem is that a prince isn’t an action figure, A prince is someone who’s waiting to become king.” as a reasoning to his frustration with the character development.
      So he suggested Prince of Persia: Assassin. A game in which you play an assassin to save the prince. Ubisoft said they didn't want a Prince of Persia game where he wasn't the main focus, and he decided to turn it into Assassin's Creed. If you're going to correct someone, know the facts.

      Dianna Bishop funny, you mean stupidity and naivety connor was the most hated character of all assassin's creed, he had no charisma, nothing interesting, just going with the steam and killing everyone like a cruel animal, haytham was a leader, a master templar, a badass, strong personality, whatever, you're probably trolling, bcz i never met anyone who prefers connor on haytham

    • @diannabishop4053
      @diannabishop4053 9 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      Abidal Sh What sort of growth does Haytham experience during the span of the game? How do his life experiences shape him as a character? What is the driving force in his life that motivates him on a personal level to succeed? When does Haytham ever question his own motives and decisions? When Haytham makes mistakes, what does he learn from them? What does he choose to do differently once confronted with a similar problem? Who does Haytham ever form a meaningful and long-lasting relationship with that changes his character? What type of person does Haytham Kenway perceive himself as?
      With a complex and well rounded-character, all these questions should be easy to answer. Unfortunately, for Haytham, the vast majority of these questions can't be answered at all. Your description of his redeeming qualities are nothing but shallow traits. Haytham is a hollow character that young male gamers loved because they could easily fantasize about being in his place. Like Ezio (Prior to Revelations), Haytham is a self-insert character. Men want to be him, ladies want to be with him. Wise cracking, clever, simple, and very easy to like. And to me, very forgettable.
      Connor is the opposite. Connor is a young man who's character develops and changes with every event that he experiences. He is cold. He is not friendly, he is not funny, he is not here to have fun, and he is not here to have people fall in love him. He's here to get his job done, and that's all that matters. There is always a reason for every action that he takes. Just because YOU don't agree with those actions, doesn't mean there was no reason behind them.
      Stupid and Naive? No friggin' duh. Connor is a child. Were you the pinnacle of knowledge and wisdom when you were a kid/teenager? If you still are one (I'm assuming you are in your teens), trust me, you'll look back on these years with much more knowledge than you have now.
      You know why Connor is a complex character? Because he isn't perfect. He makes poor choices as a kid due to his lack of experience, just like every human being does at that age. He sees the world in better light than he should, just like all children do, prior to the loss of their innocence. From the age of only 4, Connor is already thrown into an adults' world, into a conflict that takes an entire lifetime for both Assassins and Templars to fully understand. Connor remains naive and foolhardy throughout his young life because he's clinging on to whatever semblance of innocence he has left. He desperately looks for hope in a world that tore all hope away from him before his life ever truly began.
      And yet, Connor fights on. He overcomes all obstacles and challenges thrown his way. He makes it through rites of passage that no other child would be able to bear, and at the end of his coming-of-age story, he becomes a true assassin. He recognizes the evils of the world, and though he knows success is unlikely, he dedicates himself to fighting them for the rest of his life. Alone. No family, no mentor, no Brotherhood by his side.
      And for his badassery? A twenty year old single handedly destroys the Templar Order, drives the most impactful revolution in history to victory, revives the completely destroyed Assassin's Brotherhood in America, and does it in less than ten years. Seems just a little bad ass to me.

    In the Forsaken novel, which came out at a sort-of prequel to this game that’s canon by Ubisoft, Haytham actually did know it wasn’t Charles who burned Connor’s village. And like Connor said, he sat on that information until the opportune moment. Connor may be naive but he’s not stupid. If Haytham told him and provided proof, Connor would believe him or at the very least ask George Washington.

    People say Connor was annoying and ungrateful and try to justify that ezio is better.
    no. Ezio is just an asshole. He cheated on his girlfriend twice, ezio had no business joining the assassins, he showed that he could've given a shit less that his father and brother died. He was one of the most selfish characters in the game.
    Connor on the other hand fought for the people he regarded as his family, even though he lost them in the end. Even though he got so little in return, he did not deter from what was right.
    Not to mention Connor showed far more character development than ezio, even though ezio had three games he didn't deserve.
    What did ezio do in his area that was so significant, other than keep the Templars out? Did ezio help birth a nation? No. Did ezio lose everything he held near and dear? No. On a side note, Should he have lost everything because he was a selfish asshole? Yes. But that's beside the point.

      The mighty Chessers Thank god, I thought I was the only person who thought he didn't deserve 3 games.

      The mighty Chessers Not only did Ezio lose just about everything he loved, but he lost it twice.
      First was at the start of AC 2, where all his brothers and his father get lynched right in front of him.
      Second was his Villa getting attacked in ACB and his uncle getting murdered.
      Connor may have done some interesting stuff but the character himself was very poorly made and just an extremely boring person in general.

      stars111535 people say he lost everything twice. So I'm supposed to be sad about that? He lost everything because he knew better but got careless. Ezio didn't seem to be bothered the way Connor was bothered when he "lost everything." Connor wasn't boring, you people are just too picky about the character.

    The "Just-in-case-you-didn't-know-what-game-you-were-playing-here's-our-logo" cliché is just too annoying! It appears in every single damn AC game sin I've watched till now! You CAN please stop that now. It used to be funny but it's gotten too old.

    Connor turns into Stallone: You're welcome.

    The thing that always gets me is when Connor says to someone, "violence isn't the answer." uh you're an assassin, it's the only answer you have. Haytham was the only reason I carried on playing, he was the game's saving grace.

    10:25 Haytham didn't know Connor was coming; he was trying to find Church, and Connor just happened to show up while he was there. It's likely that Haytham heard Connor approaching (though he still didn't know who he was) and hid atop the roof beams just before Connor entered.

      11:47 ... You're totally right. However, Connor's also right. Whether he immediately disclosed what he knew or waited for evidence, Haytham was going to look bad; he couldn't even show Connor the problem firsthand, as Connor wouldn't trust Haytham to take him somewhere for unknown reasons, so Haytham was stuck.
