    I went to Playa del Carmen in 2015 it was amazing, my favourite holiday I’ve had. Cozumel is definitely worth as a visit as is Chichen Itza further out although try and go early morning as it gets quite hot and busy later in the day. One day I’ll go back to this beautiful place.

    Playa del Carmen, is the heart of the Riviera Maya, was once a fishing village known as Xaman Há; Nowadays it is a cosmopolitan beach town with a wide gastronomic offer and variety in lodging and entertainment options.

    Hola a todos. Es una hermosa ciudad en México. Después de las ciudades de Cancún y Chetumal , es la tercera ciudad más grande del estado. La ciudad está situada en la costa del Mar Caribe y es un popular centro turistico Se encuentra frente a San Migel de Cozumel , la ciudad más grande de isla de Cozumel , con la que tiene conexión de ferry....Saludos...desde Fort Worth, Texas

    Thank you so much for this video! Going to Mexico in a few months and you’ve given me great ideas and places to visit 😚💖 I was wondering if you could advise how much colectivos usually cost (for instance, if I wanted to go from PDC to Tulum) and also, where did you guys leave your backpacks (phones, wallet, water bottle etc) when you went to the cenotes? Is it safe to leave them in a spot on the rocks whilst you’re swimming? Thank you!!

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The collectives are the cheapest way to get around. It’s about 2.5€ for a single ride, but depending on where you go. The driver will tell you and they have a fair pricing! we left our belongings in the cenote itself on the side. Just keep an eye on your stuff and you’ll be fine. Didn’t seem like an issue to us!

    • @worldwildhearts

      You can definitely do the cenotes as a solo traveler! You pay to enter them and could likely leave your valuables at the ticket entrance with the staff. Or you could hide it in your backpack and keep an eye on it while you swim. We never had problems ourselves with belongings being stolen ourselves while visiting the cenotes. The best rates we found were on booking.com and then we set up a meeting in person with the owner to check out the place before staying there. The best location in our opinion was between 5th and 15th ave lengthwise and then between 70th street and 48th street widthwise. That way you've got access to downtown pretty quick but also are a bit away from the noise

    Is it safe to visit Tulum and the towns between Tulum an Cancun? Where are the best snorkeling spots that you can reach right from the beach? Thank you

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure about snorkeling in Playa itself since we didn’t do that, but you can snorkel in the cenotes and see fish there. Or you can take a boat trip over to Cozumel for some amazing snorkeling as a day trip. In terms of safety, we found that area to be very safe ourselves. But always best to use common sense and avoid late night club scenes if you want to be extra cautious

    Hello guys
    We're going there in a couple of days but I'm a bit worried because of the seaweed everywhere...
    Was it possible to surf? (Wave Surfing) 🌊 Did it have big waves somewhere?
    Thanks 🙏

    • @stevej5276
      @stevej5276 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't count on surfing there. If the seaweed is bad and and you want a good beach area, walk the beach north of the ferry pier past all the resorts then go around a rocky area. It is a long walk and you have to bring your own refreshments but it is worth it, usually no seaweed and maybe a couple other people.

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We haven’t seen anyone wave surfing in Playa del Carmen. We saw a few in Akumal but it seemed pretty rare. There was seaweed but not too bad when we were there. We heard it was worse in tulum

    • @michaelnelson9140
      @michaelnelson9140 ปีที่แล้ว

      I saw some surfers attempting to, but imo, the waves weren’t enough. As for the sea weed, it’s there, but people are consistently cleaning it up. I never saw it so bad, that it would keep you from the beach.

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should take a local collectivo! It’s about 2.5$ one way. You can hop on the collectivo in Playa (Avenida Benito Juarez under the bridge of the 307 highway). Taxi would be a lot more expensive but also possible.

      We found that it’s a great place to base yourself from if you want to visit the nearby attractions. However, the city itself wasn’t so interesting for us because it’s very touristic and doesn’t have a lot to offer in terms of adventure. But there’s tons to do around Playa Del Carmen as a day trip!

However, we also heard there has been more security put in place around the playa del Carmen area. Our suggestion is to stay around the touristic areas and stay away from the drug scene.

For Cozumel, we suggest booking the snorkeling while you are in Playa Del Carmen if you can since Cozumel can be a bit busy with the ferry unloading so many people at the same time. This video is not objective. Yes, some of bits are amazing but you didn't mention how unsafe it is, how many police is walking around because of big narco cartel, how dirty everything is, how locals are rude if you don't live tips, how everything is much expensive for tourists, car garages converted in (expensive) restaurants, internet no where, wild animals everywhere etc. Never again. Coming from Europe it seems like Mexico is third world country with so many poor ppl struggling to survive. I am used to on Coast of Spain or Croatia and you can't compare that with nothing in Mexico. I just couldn't relax overthere. Very disappointed.
