Angklung from the Sundanese people of West Java. Angklung is a multitonal (double-pitched) musical instrument made of bamboo. The way to play it is quite easy just by shaking it. This video was made at Udjo Studio, Bandung city, West Java. The musical group ANGKLUNG UDJO, the singer Eya Gremonia (carrying a violin), Widi Dodot as a traditional singer and Eka Gustiwana (Conductor) as a composer.
The singer is Enya Grimonia.. All you see on the way of his singer is traditional music: Suling/Local Flute, Angklong (the one that do instrument with Violin), and Kendang (traditional Drum) and Wiwit Dodot is local Sundanese singer singing sundanese song (West java - Indonesia) She is muslim wearing hijab but modified as per local wisdom)
I enjoyed that performance. Also, the instruments were interesting. I'm familiar with the song as I first heard it sung in a mash-up by Hanin Dhiya. Thanks for taking this on, Eddie. It's great that you are still exploring these talents that we might not otherwise see.
Well,wondering a muslim women in indonedia? Here (single/married) still can choose to use/not use a hijab. Maybe i can only explain, most of us are "spiritual but not religious" and our people&culture is much different than arabs. here the women's rights are far more equal like a man. They can decide many thing for their life. even if a woman is traveling alone, it is much safer here
