This new format really works for me actually. It always felt like you were telling us a story, because that's exactly what you were doing, but having someone interject when everything gets mythy and say "hang on, whoa, what?" is absolutely perfect.
Must admit I prefer the older format, rather than Dael telling me a tale I felt like I was listening into a conversation and I liked story time with Dael ;)
This seemed more like a BTS episode but I like the fact that someone was interjecting with questions and it made this story seems more like a conversation than a storytelling. I could definitely see where "Storytelling Dael" and "Normal/ Everyday Dael" appeared in this story
Must remember to thank TH-cam for auto play, as your video came on next after another mythology binge I was enjoying; and I have now spent the weekend watching and loving your content. So much fun, i've been ending them to my nerdy friends all weekend!
MonarchsFactory well I thank you for putting out such fun and wonderful content, and I look forward to your next video, like a wide eyed child waiting for his next bedtime story 😊
Loved the new format! Was definitely refreshing, and appreciated the random sneaky cameo from behind (maybe check if he had one sandal just to be safe . . .)
loved this one! also fun fact!! Nephele (said as Neff-ell in this case) is the name of my best friend's d&d character in the group I run! she's an air genasi. :)
I like both formats. To be honest I mostly listen to these while doing stuff, like when I was just drying herbs right now. But they're both super charming in different ways, so I like mixing it up and hope you keep doing both when you want to do one or the other and feel it's appropriate Cheers
I love the interaction between you two. You should give you listener a mic so they can be heard better. Or have the camera mic closer (however you do things). Also, more drawings!! They are the best part!
I like this style. If it is easier on you then it is only going to let you produce more things. Also you seem happier and have a little bit of back and forth which I enjoy.
Your mythological super power is that you turn me into a little kid who can't wait to sit at your feet and listen to you tell stories. Sort of like: "Please, Dael, tell us another story. Pretty please!!!" I revel in the way your enjoyment of mythology comes through contagiously no matter how you choose to tell the story. Feel free to change your style as you please, and don't be afraid to go back and forth between whatever fits the mood you're in at the moment. I just want to sit and listen to you tell the stories. Thank you so much for sharing with us! :)
Are you an Aries? If you are, I completely understand now and I appreciate your videos so much more. If not, then, I still love this new format! Yasssssss!!!!
I liked this new format and the drawings were really nice, especially the centaur rain. Also, it's very exciting that you will tell the story about Jason and the Argonauts.
i like the new format. feels a bit like how these would have been passed on in the past, (also, new fun thing.. i left CC on and ooh boy, youtube does not understand accents. king Optimus for example)
Hey would you be amenable to doing a reading of Mesperyian, daughter of Hades and Persephone? It's an interesting story and I don't think enough people know about her.
I liked it, thou you should look at the camera a little more so that is like a narration between you, the other girl and us... Also, keep the drawings!!! You're so sassy and funny when representing stuff I ADORE them, it gives a touch of amazingness to the stories.
change can often be good (when it happens to someone else). i like how you've done this video. the only thing i would change is to give your audience a mic too so the audio levels are more balanced. other than that keep being awesome. mix it up any way you want, more random non myth stories, more cooking, more games, anything is good :)
I’d kinda like a combination of this and the old format, I like having a more vloggy feel but I also like the old format, I don’t know, I might just be taking a while completely warming up to this On an unrelated note, I can watch your DnD vids now, the campaign died because we kept on letting people join and it got to hectic.
I think it might help if you position the camera next to the person you're talking to, so that you're facing the screen more and the viewer will feel more like they're being addressed, rather than sitting next to two people talking. You'd also be able to hear the person you're talking to better, so that we don't get just one side of a dialogue. (A second mic would, of course, be the best, but I don't know if you have one or how much extra work that would mean for you.)
Just up the audio volume output as it is even fainter than your normal videos. Other than that, the new format is fine. Is your sister that camera shy? You didn't show her on camera.
I love that you're back to using your illustrations in the myth stories! The style of the art is just so nice and appropriate. However, for some reason, it felt a bit disconcerting to see and hear you talking to someone offscreen for the whole video. I'm ok with the informal format, I just would like to see the conversation in full instead of hear it in full but see half.
I am not as much of a fan of the new format. I feel like you are hanging out with your friends and I'm a third wheel. Maybe a combination of the two? Like both of you sitting down and talking, but in a way where it seems like we are part of the conversation rather than awkwardly standing off to the side? Still enjoyed the story! Just wanted to provide some constructive feedback :)
Three changes I'd like to see in the new format: 1) Give the "audience" a microphone as others have suggested 2) Introduce us to the "audience" 3) Do it in 3/4 view instead of in profile. I'd like to feel like I'm part of the video, and I'd like to see your whole face.
Anyone interested in the story of Jason should definitely see the 1963 movie _Jason and the Argonauts,_ special effects by Ray Harryhausen, music by Bernard Hermann, and an appearance by Dr. Who #2 as a man being tormented by harpies. This is actually a pretty good movie for its type, and Hermann's very modern score is worth the price of admission on its own. I also see that YT has a reading of the _Argonautica_ by Apollonius of Rhodes: th-cam.com/video/qqPY7TxvpS4/w-d-xo.html
Yay! More mythology! ^_^ And the story of Iason and the Argonauts, too! ^_^ I'm looking forward to the next few videos for sure. Just thought I'd mention this, the Gallipoli peninsula is still very much there (I know why you used the past tense, Dael, just being pedantic... ô.Ô).
just to throw my opinion in, i liked the old format better. in the old format, it felt like you were telling the story to me directly. in the new format, it feels like im awkwardly standing off to the side listening in on someone elses conversation. perhaps if you had the guest in the shot with you, with the camera a bit farther back, and you split your attention between the guest and the camera, then it might feel less awkward.
I actually liked this new less formal format. Specially, the part of you telling someone the story. It's more vloggy-ie but it's fun! And if it allows you to add more to the videos and post more then go for it, gurl! ^^
I have to wonder how god gifts work in a story like this. I mean, the ram was sired by Poseidon, given to Nephele by Hermes, sacrificed to Zeus, and the fleece given as a present to a king who dedicated it to Ares. Either way, someone is not going to be happy their gift was sacrificed/dedicated to another god. Then again, in other stories the ram was sacrificed to Poseidon, so it makes a bit more sense.
I feel like I'm eaves dropping and only getting half the conversation. IMHO, having the other person off camera weakens the format because we miss out on the non-verbal aspects of her responses to you. That being said, YAY for a Jason series and YAY for more drawings!
I like this. Oral tradition in plainspeak, not narrated like a children's story. Stories involving political intrigue and infanticide shouldn't begin "once upon a time," they should begin with "y'all this is how it went down!"
I kind of dig this new format. Very cool! Don't you mean that doing the same thing over an over starts to get... >.> sDael... No. No you don't. I'll go away now. Thanks! o/
I'm not a fan of the new format. The interjections didn't seem to contribute, seemed to break up your flow, and it made the whole presentation feel less professional. It's obvious that you put a lot of work into your research and familiarizing yourself with these stories, and the 'audience' made it feel far more casual than the old format.
I really like the new format, feels like a hangout with the Kingsmill bunch. Plus Raewyn asking all the important questions!
New format is fun, "myths as a conversation" is likely how they stuck around for as long as they have. Great video as always!
This is the loveliest thing to hear! Thank you so much!!
MonarchsFactory well I thank you for putting out such fun and wonderful content, and I look forward to your next video, like a wide eyed child waiting for his next bedtime story 😊
I love that you have a copy of talisman on your shelf.
Loved the new format! Was definitely refreshing, and appreciated the random sneaky cameo from behind (maybe check if he had one sandal just to be safe . . .)
Loved the new format. The natural lighting is way better and doesn’t create an orange tone like in front of the gamecase.
What a fantastic idea. I love this format of you telling your friends the myth. Reminds me of similar re-tellings amongst friends.
loved this one! also fun fact!! Nephele (said as Neff-ell in this case) is the name of my best friend's d&d character in the group I run! she's an air genasi. :)
I like both formats. To be honest I mostly listen to these while doing stuff, like when I was just drying herbs right now. But they're both super charming in different ways, so I like mixing it up and hope you keep doing both when you want to do one or the other and feel it's appropriate
Cheers
I love the interaction between you two. You should give you listener a mic so they can be heard better. Or have the camera mic closer (however you do things). Also, more drawings!! They are the best part!
Yay, more pictures! I love your doodles, they are so charming.
I like this style. If it is easier on you then it is only going to let you produce more things. Also you seem happier and have a little bit of back and forth which I enjoy.
I really like the new Myth format. As always, great work.
I'm an Aries!
Not sure about this format, but I'm listening like a podcast at work anyway, so I'm still in for the mythos.
Jason and The Argonauts is the "Avengers" of the Greek mythology. Loved the new format btw. :)
that was great, the new format is fine. looking forward to Jason and the Argonauts.
Love it! And, happy belated birthday! Aries represent!
She thought the old format was getting a little... sDAEL... :P
Quite enjoyed the new format, and it looks like Dael had a lot of fun with it too :D
This is a pretty cool dynamic, i dig it!
I really liked this new format!!
Very much enjoyed the new format.
I like more the other format, but if it gives us more of mythology content, i like this new format waay more.
I'm a fan of the format.
Cool format!
Your mythological super power is that you turn me into a little kid who can't wait to sit at your feet and listen to you tell stories. Sort of like: "Please, Dael, tell us another story. Pretty please!!!"

change is good. I like what you've done.
I wonder who you will 'shanghai' into your next vid ;)
I liked this new format and the drawings were really nice, especially the centaur rain.
Also, it's very exciting that you will tell the story about Jason and the Argonauts.
i like the new format. feels a bit like how these would have been passed on in the past,
(also, new fun thing.. i left CC on and ooh boy, youtube does not understand accents. king Optimus for example)
can you do a Valkyrie video
liking the new format. Hearing reactions from other people that don't know the stories is great!
This was awesome
It took me forever to make the jump from Jason to why the golden fleece was in Asia
Hey would you be amenable to doing a reading of Mesperyian, daughter of Hades and Persephone? It's an interesting story and I don't think enough people know about her.
What an awesome video to watch on my birthday! I never knew the story of my star sign! ♈💕
I liked it, thou you should look at the camera a little more so that is like a narration between you, the other girl and us... Also, keep the drawings!!! You're so sassy and funny when representing stuff I ADORE them, it gives a touch of amazingness to the stories.
I love this format and didn't know most of that story ❤️
change can often be good (when it happens to someone else). i like how you've done this video. the only thing i would change is to give your audience a mic too so the audio levels are more balanced. other than that keep being awesome. mix it up any way you want, more random non myth stories, more cooking, more games, anything is good :)
I actually translated This text in my latin class ( a watered down version) I love This video!
I fucking love your stories!!
I’d kinda like a combination of this and the old format, I like having a more vloggy feel but I also like the old format, I don’t know, I might just be taking a while completely warming up to this
On an unrelated note, I can watch your DnD vids now, the campaign died because we kept on letting people join and it got to hectic.
This story was Helle good!
I'll see myself out…
Dave Douds Helle good indeed!! Not baaad at all! Are ewe excited 🐏 for the next installment of the Argonauts?

I'm actually on the quest for The Golden Fleece right now... Aries
Love this. Though I do feel like you need a white board to help them keep track of ppl & their names, locations etc.
A wild Dael appears! Never being able to sleep at normal hours has finally paid off...
baaaadaaaass! 🐏 Are ewe excited about the next installment?
Just up the audio volume output as it is even fainter than your normal videos. Other than that, the new format is fine. Is your sister that camera shy? You didn't show her on camera.
Been away, am back, like format.
Looking back, perhaps the king should've just bought Jason another sandal...
Love it!
Quite excellent, as I've actually been to do a 5thEd DnD campaign with Greek-Roman-Egyptian myth elements.
The ultimate cross-over event, I love the Argonauts, all heroes gathered together!
Terence Aries Do they have to learn how to work as a team?
Maybe a blue laser shoots into the sky too :P
Wait I have No fleez ? I am of zodiac a Aries
I love that you're back to using your illustrations in the myth stories! The style of the art is just so nice and appropriate.

Yay! Raewynn!
I really liked the format of this, I absolutely loved the little random authentic funnies
It works well as a podcast too - you telling stories to Raewynn
Three changes I'd like to see in the new format:

I was just as confused as Raewyn when you said "Aries with an 'I'" and started thinking "Iris? Eris? Ariis?"
Gimme moar Dael!
The whole Ares/Aries pronunciations is confusing in English.
At least in Spanish there's a slight difference.
Ares (Ah-res) and
Aries (Ah-ree-ez)
the drawings
I actually liked this new less formal format. Specially, the part of you telling someone the story. It's more vloggy-ie but it's fun! And if it allows you to add more to the videos and post more then go for it, gurl! ^^
yeah my school has chosen this for the school play and I end up being the king that has the fleece
For when Aquarius ♒ Ganymede?
Yay!!!!!!!! Myth video!!!!!!! 😊
The format is fun but you got to put the other person in the shot
I liked it. It feels more friendly.
I like the new format, but please give the other person a microphone if you do that again.

damn ram

How could it have been Hela anyway? That’s a whole different pantheon!
As an Aries myself I find it very disturbing... Also, I really enjoyed the new format.
I like this. Oral tradition in plainspeak, not narrated like a children's story. Stories involving political intrigue and infanticide shouldn't begin "once upon a time," they should begin with "y'all this is how it went down!"
In the spirit of trying new things, why not do a myth video over a game of Catan?
I kind of dig this new format. Very cool! Don't you mean that doing the same thing over an over starts to get... >.> sDael... No. No you don't. I'll go away now. Thanks! o/
I think the new format works well. But then, any format with you telling mythical stories would work well.
Aires? It's Aries! DAEL HOW COULD YOU?!
Hahaha, whoops. Revealed my inability to spell to save my life.
Haha, great video though! Love it as usual :) Greek mythology is my favorite so I'm always hyped when you upload those!
be my friend plz
Don't even try to pull the "i was just foxy" card... Pretty much all I'm saying. Anything about you that was ever real? That's what I thought
I'm not a fan of the new format. The interjections didn't seem to contribute, seemed to break up your flow, and it made the whole presentation feel less professional. It's obvious that you put a lot of work into your research and familiarizing yourself with these stories, and the 'audience' made it feel far more casual than the old format.
not really a fan of this new format but looking at the comments i'm clearly in the minority there so ...
i prefer the old format
I loved the story but I am not a big fan of change.
This guy has some very weird ideas about gratitude.
