Thank you for this excellent video. In 2024, Nezumi started putting the 9075 movement in this watch, so a true/travellers GMT is now available in this beautiful design.
Yes, now they have the travelers GMT feature that is very useful to frequent flyers. I find the office GMT a better fit for my needs and wasn't able to justify buying the travelers version being so similar in design. If they had done a white dial version with red GMT hand... :D
@@flyingphysics9664 and that one was a very cheap poorly made one from a company I will never buy again, but a cheap cheap company. Now I hare replaced it with a properly made one from Watchgecko: www.watchgecko.com/products/zuludiver-british-military-watch-strap-hydrarib-icarus?variant=42676584087715 (no affiliated link)
@@TheWatchFrame Ha! After extensive searching for something like the one in the video, I came across that exact Zuludiver strap from WatchGecko myself yesterday. Agreed, it's very important to find a quality strap.
I'm afraid, this is the first version with the NH34 with the jump hour GMT hand. The current version has the Miyota 9075 that has the jump hour local hand and that's a flyer, travellers GMT.
Thanks, I appreciate your insights. I was also looking at the Christopher Ward, but the price has kept me on the sidelines, even though I also believe it is a superior product (it's out of my price range). I would prefer that the Aviera had a date function, but at the price point I am leaning to acquiring it.
Yes, the CW is superior and if you like that one, it will not disappoint, but yes, it's more expensive. I think the black version would be the one to go too. I also think the CW is more versatile and wearable given the slimness of the watch. On the other hand I don't really miss the date on the Aviera, but that might just be me :)
Thank you for the excellent review as always. What do you think about the Terrain version they recently released? I like the looks of it, but don't know anything about the brand.
I think it's a very good-looking watch and if anything close to the design of the Aviera, it's pretty much the same without the GMT and the bezel. I'd like a 36mm version but given how it is, I think it should be a go given the price. Furthermore, I've exchanged some emails with David, the CEO, and he's a pretty cool guy, very much a star in the design field. I think it's a good brand overall.
Thank you for the review. I really like the combination with the yellow Nato strap, but I can’t find this particular strap on Nezumi’s website. Where did you buy it ? Thanks.
Thanks! Well, that nylon strap is not from Nezumistudios but a cheap one I gave away long time ago because it was of poor quality and the shop that sold it was too shady. I got one back again, but of very good quality, from a reputable seller, Watchgecko, but they don't sell it anymore unless with the Octopod system. But I found the exact model, which is from Zuludiver: www.zuludiver.com/collections/1973-british-military-watch-strap-hydrarib.
Just picked up the newer version with the 9075 Miyota movement. Its a handsome watch. My only concern is the missing date function. However, in this age of smart phones, just about all watch funtions become somewhat anachronistic.
I really haven't missed it but I get that it can be an issue for some people or needs. I don't like to trust anything to a mobile phone but given that my main use of the watch here is as an office GMT, there's no real concern with the date but still hope in the future to get a flyers GMT and most probably will have to be with a date.
To have the option would have been sweet. Still I think, for me at least, it's fine the way it is. I haven't missed the date in this whole time. Then again, I'm mind of a "no date" and 3, 6, 9 nerd, so...
Hey, one point my son just made. He has a Zelos GMT, basically the same watch, and the GMT hand is lumed. He finds telling the time at night very hard as all four hands are lit. Perhaps that’s why these guys left the lume off?
Hi @@mattharris3578 not sure about it. The GMT hand of the Zelos is of a very different shape so it should not be an issue, nor should it be in any GMT unless too similar to other hands. But again, this is, at the end of the day, a minor thing because while during the night the lume of the GMT is non existent, in the dim light it's way easier to spot that, let's say, at my Trident GMT (with all hands lumed).
Guess you mean the Colareb one. The one that is distressed? That's a Firenze 20mm in brown. It is great and I recommend it. High quality, good leather, great hardware : colareb.it/collections/all-products/products/firenze?variant=39316374225076. The other leather one in dark brown showing is a Fluco one, but I don't recommend it: flimsy buckle, bad finishing...
I had the same opinion at the beginning, but after owning it, being an office callers GMT, I don't miss the date, basically ever. I'm even guessing I wouldn't mind it in a flyers GMT either, but that's just my personal take. To each their own. About the crown guards, I'd say the crown is slightly sunk in the case and doesn't bother me it not to have them, but if that's a must, I'd advise you to check the Christopher Ward Sealander. That one is thinner, with crown guards and date.
Thanks a lot. Yes, it's on the thick side, but not too much to be honest. I was trying the BB Pro yesterday and that one feels thicker although in price there's no comparison. But the yellow hand is really very original.
WRT the date, it’s odd they didn’t include it because the date function is part of the Miyota 9075 GMT movement. Either way I think it’s a nice piece for the money. I just ordered one on the bracelet but now regretting that - EVERY review I’ve watched (no pun) says the bracelet is sub par. I’ll likely put it on a NATO if I keep it. I still may go for the Tudor Pro, instead. Time will tell I(no pun, again). Great Video, THANKS!
Yes, the bracelet is not great but on the other hand this watch allows to use many different straps with great results, specially mustard and brown natos. Also it's not that high therefore better to use with natos than taller watches. The Tudor Pro is great but, IMHO, a bit too tall for my taste.
It's a mustard ridge. You can find one at Watchgecko. Here's a version: www.watchgecko.com/products/watchgecko-ridge-military-nylon-watch-watch-strap-yellow
I've observed wild forest rats and mouses and they are pretty awesome creatures. Of course there's a lot of bad press for these animals specially when in the cities, but that also speaks a lot about how we human animals affect their environment and how, at the same time, the resourceful animals take advantage of that.
