I have experience AI in China last year. Lived local and not as a tourist. AI scares the hell out of me. Felt that the Chinese citizens have lost their individuality and are driven by consumerism. Their whole world is surrounded by their cell phone. Example they pay, switch on utilities in their apartments, open doors. Do not socialize just live in a vacuum of AI. They are watch and listen to in their homes and cars all the time. It feels like Alice falling down the hole into a never never land. Scary
The rewards cards of the big food retailers are gold for suppliers too - suppliers use the data to influence shopper behaviour by dealing deeper strategically & by tailoring their point of sale accordingly.
Why are supermarkets greedy. Why not supply goods at the cheapest rate, irrespective of the weather forecast. It all comes down to greed. Trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of the consumer.
@derekstuart because they need to make a profit, a. To enable them to invest, to grow, and b. To compensate their shareholders (who invested the money to set up & run the business). These are businesses, not altruistic institutions.
@@wernerstapela4616 greedy capitalism is what will bring an end to this country and world wide. I'm in favor of healthy and fair capitalism, not what you propose to be their reasons
I was worried when I heard Sean talk AI. Essentially what he's referring to hear is machine learning, very useful, but be warned AI in its current state is a massive bubble. Interesting interview on the topic: th-cam.com/video/Nd7wrC62LEk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=G8WuYLw-70AuzmOh
Ai will only benefit the minority and the wealthy, no matter how you spin it. Mass unemployment is on the horizon, it's already begun. Eventually as Ai develops, there will be no job that Ai can't do better and cheaper than a human. Even Ai learning will become obsolete, as will coders, artists, doctors, etc
It's alright let it run its course. If no 1 has a job, then no 1 can go buy at the retailer and then AI can manufacture parts for itself because humans dont have money to buy the goods they started manufacturing. Those minorities can watch their profits dwindle and end up with stranded assets.

@cosmicfxx so am I, what else did I describe above?
@@cosmicfxxhave you seen supermarkets in socialist and communist countries?
@@wernerstapela4616 Is it necessary to mark up goods by over 200% in order to, as you put it, make a profit ?
