They did - I was there, the BBC cut out like 3 songs for this programme, they definitely played The Heinrich Maneuver too. I can't remember the other missing one.
Really? He's cool but kinda freaky looking, big googly eyes....I gaurentee if he wasn't famous and in a band you would not look at him on the street, you're under the effect of his fame and money :P
@IPA SOLÉ ya hablen en español hahaha, Interpol tiene más fans en México 🖤. Una pena para las personas que estuvieron ahí y no sonrieron esa emoción )':
I've been to this festival in Glasgow and the crowd is actually the nicest and they respect personal space - it is a cultural difference I guess, not a flaw.
Man, I saw Interpol live here in Brazil and the sound was kinda weak, but in this video it sounds perfect! They really should hire this sound engineer for the band and never let him go hahahahaha
This band is the perfect combination of indie rock and some dark but elegant and perfectly executed (not emo) post punk. Paul's voice is wonderful, the whole band puts on a great performance. We are facing a mature band with great musicians who provide a great musical experience with beautiful lyrics and the voice that follows the melodies with emotion to capture the essence of the moment. All the songs are recorded in my heart.
Welcome to Post-Punk. lol I'm just joking. Really It just has that nice mix of indie alt sound and post punk vibes. Post punk is not emo, but pop-culture has brainwashed to stereotype it as such.
why is no one talking about Matt Helders Jamie Cook and Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys at 52:26, my two favorite bands enjoying each other's music
I love the idea that kids see Interpol for the first time never heard some of these songs, and get to experience that for the first time. Their music is timeless, and very profound, and it f*cking rocks.
I remember discovering them in high school, and I think that’s when my love of music truly formed. I’m 33 now and they still hit me in the feels every damn time.
For me, Interpol transcends music. They touch my feelings, my soul. They talk to me in many ways. Making me feel nostalgia, sadness, angst and excitement. I guess i'll never be into a band so much like i'm into these dudes. Thank you for turning on the bright lights for many words that i never had the ways to say or transcribe. Specialist and Song Seven are lacking on this setlist but i guess i have never seen interpol playing with so much soul like this. Thank you for doing what you do. Regards from Brazil.
Playing to such a mainstream audience must have been difficult, fantastic set and great energy, buzzing for marauder, Roland was one of the best live songs I’ve ever heard!
mollieangel if it’s any consolation most of the crowd were there for Arctic monkeys, I had only heard of Interpol but not of there music but after hearing them live (particularly the rover) I’ve started to listen to them a lot now
Yes, Paul's voice is unusually ON-key and smooth here. His voice was not the best these last few years. Even some of the 2019 performances sound off. Maybe he kicked up a notch for this important festival. ???
Los años pasan uno ya no vuelve a tener la voz cuando era joven y es parte de la vida y uno tiene que acostumbrarse . Para mi sigue teniendo buena voz.
When I first heard this band, I was 12 years old. I remember dreaming about how I wished to play on a stage with Interpol one day! They were one of the bands that inspired me to pick up music which ultimately became my life, also shaping my life in profound ways. I'm 27 now, and still love this band with all my heart, letting their sound take me on a journey back to before I was "Daddy" to 2 little girls (which Daddy, along with Mom, got to go to their 1st concert finally [at age 6 & 7] at Austin City Limits Festival last year, and my God I'm so proud of how much they loved every second of it! And how they much they love bands who use "real drums and guitars". Anyways, they LOVE Interpol along with Awolnation..I feel like I'm doing okay haha). Anyways, this band has been a staple in my life both in my musical influences, as well as areas that go much deeper in my head & heart. Thank you Interpol! And thank you everyone here watching with me for being Interpol fans! They need our love and support to keep that magic they possess, & I know that we'll always be there to give it. 😎😛🎟️🎫🎸🎤🎛️🎼
Im 37 now and still love them with all my heart. Listening actually breaks my heart.. brings back too many memories of when music and life was good! Fantastic to the next gen still appreciate them.. I introduced a bunch of 18 year old to them and they had never heard of them, they thought it sounded too depressing.. so I had lost all hope for the next gen. You sound like a great dad!
What a beautiful comment to come across! It makes the risk of scrolling down to the comment section worth it. Thanks for your story & for passing good music on to your kids. It's important for them to know of such awe & for all of you to have the experience of bonding over it. With the way people are today we need good music like this even more to save us. I can't wait to see them this fall opening for Morrissey!
I have a complete set of the Shephard Fairey Interpol prints from Antics. Signed and numbered and framed. Need to sell if interested (hard times). Reply here with email address if interested.
This set list is so good actually. The tracks from El Pintor really open up their set lists to build a narrative. All The Rage Back Home and Anywhere are so uncompromisingly good arena tracks. And it's really nice to hear C'mere so crisp and mature on the guitars and drums. I wish they'd re-record some tracks that have evolved a LOT past their studio recordings in live play. I think Interpol fans deserve it at least for PDA. A lot of drum tracks are insane live but that one is killer.
0:03 Not Even Jail
6:14 All The Rage Back Home

Rockjael Z. They didn't play it in this festival.
Te faltó el 25:52: su risa toda hermosa 😍😂🖤
They did - I was there, the BBC cut out like 3 songs for this programme, they definitely played The Heinrich Maneuver too. I can't remember the other missing one.
was anything besides the rover a new song?
Not even jail is a masterpiece
Paul Banks...The Most Handsome man all over the world.
no, but yes

@@andyd6338 Hahaha funny guy
He looks so good in black clothes And Shades 😍
@@nadiaaraoz894 Totally agree! 😍
The audience don't deserve INTERPOL!!!
true, i guess they were waiting for arctic monkeys or something.
@IPA SOLÉ ya hablen en español hahaha, Interpol tiene más fans en México 🖤.

@@petter_jv Tienes razón en México amamos a Interpol de hecho somos los mayores fans que tienen :)
Sit down,
shut up.
Calm down
and get along with them.
I've been to this festival in Glasgow and the crowd is actually the nicest and they respect personal space - it is a cultural difference I guess, not a flaw.
Daniel Kessler up there looking like a BOSS
This band makes me want to buy a delay pedal
You buy it?
Go on then *Alan Partridge shrug*
Haha and me either an epiphone casino or a gretsch (elecromatic or Streamliner) the one Daniel uses is like Pauls Les Paul custom out of my budget. 😉
=)
Whoever did the sound for this show is a genius. This is how Interpol should sound live EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!
The sound for these broadcasts comes right off the board. There is a very good chance it sounded like crap in the open air.
Sure, but what a performance. He hits nearly every note. You're hard-pressed to find that at many live shows, regardless of act.
I was there can confirm it sounded just as good haha
Man, I saw Interpol live here in Brazil and the sound was kinda weak, but in this video it sounds perfect! They really should hire this sound engineer for the band and never let him go hahahahaha
Look up their KCRW studio performance from the first album. Your welcome...
that beginning of not even jail gets me every freaking time
Kyler Schmor saaaaaaaaame
Best opener ever
Omg yes!
Sam Fogarino is underrated as fuck, he such a good player .

sounds like "The Cure" for a new generation, such full sound
Chill, emo is cool
I agree :)
Fantastic weird sounds, impro or pedal glitch at 25:33 ,at 26:50 , at the beginning of Roland
52:25 Good to see the lads from Arctic Monkeys enjoying some Interpol.
Yeah heard them say they enjoy Interpol's music
lmfao
Daniel never ages.
why is no one talking about Matt Helders Jamie Cook and Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys at 52:26, my two favorite bands enjoying each other's music
Love it, thank you for pointing out.
I just wwanted to be one of those Interpoleros
they were waiting for headlining. thats why they were there. thats not vip area.
love them both, lucky the ppl who saw them both
This is the best I've ever heard Interpol sound live. Props to the sound guys.
Yeah they sound fuckin dynamite, good job
I love the idea that kids see Interpol for the first time never heard some of these songs, and get to experience that for the first time. Their music is timeless, and very profound, and it f*cking rocks.
I play them in the car when i take my kids to school and they love Say Hello to the Angels😁
No comments about the HUGE performance of Interpol? Holy shit, this reminds me of their early days.
vasco!
Saw them in Nashville in 2018 and they sounded this good.
Saudações vascainas
VASCO PORRA
They'd be even better with Carlos
52:25 aw, look at wee Jaimeh
Omg arctic xDdd
Its fucking john Lennon 😂
I remember discovering them in high school, and I think that’s when my love of music truly formed. I’m 33 now and they still hit me in the feels every damn time.
Same! I'm 32, also first heard them in high school and still can't get enough. Finally going to be able to see them live next month in DC
I'm 31, and I discovered them few years ago!!!!. I saw them live in Toronto in Aug
The band haven't sounded this good in a while. Paul especially seems to be fresh :)
I was there. The crowd were a joke. They didn’t deserve to have Interpol.
For me, Interpol transcends music. They touch my feelings, my soul. They talk to me in many ways. Making me feel nostalgia, sadness, angst and excitement. Everything you said, is how i feel about them. I'm a fan since i was a kid and to me they're like a everlasting love; a truly, solid and mature one.
Yeah, there is just something about Interpol that can't be put into words.
Another beautiful comment making the risk of scrolling through the comment section worth it.
They never lost their spirit and they never will.
Playing to such a mainstream audience must have been difficult, fantastic set and great energy, buzzing for marauder, Roland was one of the best live songs I’ve ever heard!
Yeah, that Roland performance was on point.
Well, I prefer "Leif Erikson". Unfortunately not on their setlist this year.
Mainstream people are into interpol tbf
@@andyd6338 yeah, specially in the U.K I think. They are super loved in Mexico too.
How can you tell if an audience is mainstream, and what makes it difficult to play in front of one?
best start ever
Barely seeing anyone singing makes me feel so anxious, interpol are so important to me and it hurts my heart i couldn't be here
I was in the crowd singing my heart out mate

Interpol fans are so beautiful
Shout out to the person in the front row eating a packet of crisps during 'All The Rage Back Home'.
52:26 Jamie y Matt
16 years later that performance of 'Roland' is still exceptional.
One of my favorite bands in the world. I am privileged to have watched 5 shows of them while living in Atlanta Georgia.
WANELSON MACHADO MAGALHÃES They’re coming to Shaky Knees!
Wow you can hear the keyboard so clearly in this. This is how they should sound everytime
Many sound engineers should change job!!
Sounds really good. This is how interpol should sound. Clear. Crisp. Loud.
Length of Love isn't played enough. Such a brilliant song
Just think how many times they must have played Slow Hands live...
Massive sounding band, right at the top of their game.Incredible.
Paul's vocals are so much better

@Nicholas Baker thats his style. He is in top form here.
Who's the singer here?
Los años pasan uno ya no vuelve a tener la voz cuando era joven y es parte de la vida y uno tiene que acostumbrarse . Para mi sigue teniendo buena voz.
amo tanto a daniel
I really like the bassist style
he cut his hair, lost the leather rocker jacket and put on ray bans. big improvement...
Interpols bassist is as relevant as pauls shoes
Carlos Dengler, the old bassist, was a charismatic dude but he is gone.
I like the long hair. Everyone should not look the same.
He's really trying to copy Carlos' style, the positioning, movements and even stance all look like his.
bless you for this
Length of love and Roland were awesome. I just wish I was there
Looking at these guys get old reminds I'm getting old to. 👍
Charlie Gutierrez same. Im getting old
In this case you must be very young in your soul/heart (like this fountain of music ;-) )

This was such a lovely recording to listen to. I am so looking forward to seeing Interpol live again.
Amazing band. I've seen them 4 times in concert in Montreal - Canada. Can't get enough! Looking forward for their next record!

Saw them live last week. Amazing as always. Success is such an underrated song.
At 31,42 one of the most beautiful versions of length of love!!
Gracias por subir esta joya.
LOVE!!!
they really arent a daytime band
^^ THIS might be the best comment of all. Gloom doom requires listening at night.
i always think the same thing when i see their live concerts. the daytime doesn't have the same effect.
It's a shame that they aren't as highly appreciated in the UK as the other big bands from the indie boom coz they've got so many great songs
It is a damn shame considering Paul and Daniel were both born in England!
Saw them at riot fest between switching from day to night, and your right there effect at night was something to experience.
This is GLORIOUS!
fabulous
Estaba esperando que lo subieras Tanks.
