There's no doubt. Magomed is getting the Belal treatment. And I say this as a Pereira fan myself. I want to see Pereira tested against an elite grappler because I think he can win! The UFC needs to make this fight next.

The thing is though strikers notoriously underperform or won’t fight how they normally fight with the threat of the takedown always there against them. That’s another reason for Alex to avoid this fight he won’t be able to be himself

Strickland nonsensically trying to demand a rematch with DDP in America while DDP brought the belt to South Africa was also massively criticized.
Honestly, I'm just excited for a standing brawl in this card with a solid finish and then Ankalaev coming in next for the title. At least in Alex's case, he can definitely round things out well by defeating Rountree and taking Ankalaev for his final fight, considering, despite his activity, he's actually slightly older than Jones.

He has more wins against current top 15 LHWs than anyone else in the division including Pereira (4). Plus inside the top 10, only 4 guys are actually coming off a win - ankalaev, two guys he's already beat (volkan and krylov) and rountree. Then you take into account that rountree's last 3 losses are to prachnio, cutelaba and walker, three guys that got dominated by ankalaev. Plus he has the 2nd longest unbeaten streak and win streak in UFC LHW history only behind Jones, that's pretty deserving tbh
