This video may not be the algorithm banger that others have been, but man, it's so nice to have lore content still be as passionately made as it was in the past. Keep making videos like this! More Old Republic! More Lore! More!
Reva was much more powerful in both the Dark Side and the Light. She isn't given the title chosen one because of the Jedi being unwilling to see her as the Chosen One due to bigotry.
I have been watching your channel for the last 6+ years now and your lore videos will, and have always been my favorite. Thank you theory. Also, congrats on the link up with Stupendous Wave. May the force be with the both of you.
So, I've known about Arca Jeth for a while, as well as Jarael. I made an Arkanian Offshoot Jedi character who's inspired by Jarael. I've been toying with the idea that she is a descendant of one or the other, though the family line has kind of gotten lost through the annals of time. - She sought the Jedi at the behest of her grandfather, as he hoped they might instill discipline and such in her. (Not realizing she had discipline aplenty. She was just fiercely independent.) She was also sent in the hopes that she might learn more about her heritage as she studied the force. A decade later and now a powerful Jedi Knight in her own right, she seeks to return home, and perhaps reclaim Arca Jeth's temple and teachings. After watching this, and having written her for over a decade... If it is true, the apple does not fall far from the tree. Holy crap. She has talent, but due to how things were playing out in the RP setting she was in, she trained as hard or harder than Obi-wan, so she has talent and incredible training. May she return home, and perhaps become a Watchman there, seeking a better future for offshoots like her... a subset of the population who are second-class citizens and little more than slaves.
Please, more lore and character videos from the Old Republic. I feel like we get hung up too much in the prequel era, and it's nice to go back in history. I would love a video on Satele Shan's master (sorry, can't remember his name) who was killed by Malgus.
I love getting to know more about the expanded universe of Star Wars that aren’t just only the tales of the times of the skywalkers ( even though they are masterpieces). You and stupendous wave have shown me so much more information about this galaxy far far away; so glad that you guys have your long chats with one another now! Keep on keepin on and may the force be with you
Since I didn't see this video of yours promoted, I came from your latest video here to see it. I'm glad I did, since I get to know about this master. For me the shining beacon and in a way most powerful Jedi Master was "Fay" the 'near-human (Elf). I was so sad about her death. On that note I as well love how she was connected with the Force in a very strong way and being able to see the future. Maybe due that the Sith's Veil became so strong? Another one I'm looking up for is the Neti Jedi master "Ood Bnar". Thanks for bringing the lore to us and having fun with us together!
Great explainer of a character I had little idea about. Arca puts me in mind of Marcus Aurelius. His philosophy - and the Jedi philosophy more broadly - has a Stoic sensibility that I've always liked.
I Love watching your lore vids. They are like therapy and philosophy mixed into a world that lives on the cusp of reality. That is what Star Wars is to me. Sci Fi, sure. but the lessons, the community they foster, all of it becomes real when we think about how amazing these characters are. How full, complex, and wise they are.
I love your lore videos. Growing up in the countryside near a small town in Iowa I had no access to Star Wars comics and much of the EU, save for the rare novel the local library. I learn so much from your videos; I had a vague sense that the Tales of the Jedi and Dark Empire existed, but I never had a chance to dive deeply into them. Thank you for helping catch me up. Have you ever done a video on Nomi Sunrider? I've always been fascinated with her but only knew about her from the original Essential Guide to Characters.
Absolutely not, they have not been bashed enough, you know why we are getting a Rey trilogy and all the shows are ASS? Why they assassinated all legacy characters like Luke/Han/Leia/Boba Fett/Obi Wan and gave us pop belly idiot Thawn etc etc amount a thousand other bad things for YEARS? Coz people don’t want to be point blank honest and admit it’s over, they are mutilating the corpse of SW coz people ALLOW them to.
The series of comics with Ulic & Cay Quel Droma, Tott, Nomi Sunrider and Exar Kun are my absolute favourite Star Wars Legends of all time, especially when they cover the Great Hyperspace War etc., the conflict between the Republic and the Mandalorians and of course the Freedom Nadd arc 😁
This is part of what makes you great. I was so excited when I saw this drop. Don’t care anymore about any the new Star Wars. Just keep doing this. Love ya man and Merry Christmas. May the Force be with you.
Response in love for Star Wars lore: Never heard of him! The first thing that came to mind seeing the thumbnail is the resemblance to Qui-Gon Jin, that green lightsaber! The long hair. That connection to Ulic Qel Droma! I love going back to KOTOR and KOTOR2, where I first got to hear some of these names you mentioned today.
I don’t think I’ve seen a video about master arca before. I’ve read the tales of the Jedi books when they came out and I was fascinated by them. There’s so many great characters there and history to explore.
I very much enjoyed this! I like to consider myself pretty knowledgeable about Star Wars lore, but this is the first I’ve heard of him. I think a whole series of old republic figures is in order. Starting with the Jedi, Sith then even Mandalorians. Perhaps a focus on different force wielding factions later? Teach the masses the ways of the force. Show them how amazing Stars Wars was, and what is can be AGAIN. Much love to you, my friend
Love the lore vids, battle meditation is one of the coolest powers. Yoda was profound at it and I always interpreted clone wars Season 1 episode 1 as Yoda tapping into that and rallying like 3 clones to take down an entire droid army
Another great video bro. My wife got me the black and gold double crystal saber for Christmas and it’s phenomenal bro. Best gift I have ever received and I’m 45 with 2 children lol
I’m 3/4 on the way through Tales of the Jedi omnibus and he’s a really interesting character. What a great era, I really wish Disney would bring some of this to life. So many great stories and battles. But I guess it doesn’t count as source material lol. Great video and keep the lore coming!
I know this stuff doesn’t get the same amount of views as controversy and (fully deserved) Disney bashing, but please don’t stop making this. They’re the heart of this channel. And once we leave these dark times, after the fall of “The Empire”, people will need help remembering what Star Wars can be.
Love hearing about the Comic Lore definitely would like for you to make more old Republic videos. Also, more comic lore! Never knew about this character and it was very interesting to hear about, reminds me I should really get into the comics.
Awesome job Theory loved the video and would love if you did more lore videos on legends characters I think those characters are interesting and I think they would make incredible videos
I miss these type of videos from you Master. Just talking about the lore and teaching us about the Jedi, the Sith, the Grey Jedi, the Dark Jedi, the Force, the Galaxy, and your own opinion and theories on our lessons.
Do it! More Legends content! 😊 I like Arca Jeth for two reasons, above any others. First, he is from the time frame when Exar Kun, and Ulic Qel-Droma, rose to prominence, and a lot of important events happened around then. The second, and probably bigger, reason is probably going to seem odd, but I like that he goes against trends. In various ways, he breaks with tradition; both as a Jedi, and as a person. Arkanians are an interesting people, but can also be somewhat one-dimensional. Most of them are incredibly smart, and scientifically talented, but might be seen as lacking a conscience. They aren't all evil, mad scientists, but a lot of them might see a community that they could help, by "upgrading" its members, and then not see why they might object, and so just proceed to modify them, for their own good. I don't doubt that Master Arca is smart, and capable, but hes compassionate, and able to comprehend, and appreciate, thebopinions of others; he doesn't just see himself as the best, or smartest, and thus expect everyone else to just come to the same conclusions as him, and go along eith his plans. There's a lot of Jedi in him, but he's also a good Jedi, and not as lost in dogma as other Arkaniand might get lost in science. He trains a cadre of students, and let's them be the people they are.
He was in the old “Tales of the Jedi” comics by Dark Horse, from the early days of Legends EU when they were still struggling to get the word out about the continuity in the early mid-90’s. It wouldn’t be until after the ‘Shadows of the Empire’ multi-media project in 95 or 96? that people learned that Star Wars was back. So it was likely easy to miss. But the good thing is that Marvel (they had nothing to do with it) released these comics in omnibus format, and I guess you could say that these stories a canon legends rather than non-canon Legends since the legends of Ulic Qel-Droma and Exar Kun’s are held by some in the new canon to be true, though the Jedi of later generations deny it.
Tales of the Jedi was some of Dark Horse' finest work in the Star Wars universe. I still think their losing the license to produce comics was a tragedy.
It was a completely different era. The Jedi Order was more loosely organized and while it was allied with the Republic, it didn't *serve* the Republic like the Jedi Order of the prequels did. The Jedi Masters of circa 4,000 BBY chose their apprentices, who were often adults, and could teach them as they saw fit. This produced a lot of very powerful Jedi who didn't care all that much about politics. Arca knew more about the Force than many Council members in the prequels did, and he wasn't the only Master in the Order of his time who was like that.
TotJ is better than the prequels. There, I said it. Glad to hear you talking about the good old stuff from the 90s. Minor correction: Arca dies not at the hands of King Ommin, but as a result of the treacherous machinations of Satal and Aleena and the Krath.
Amazing vid...I love it ❤❤ I was about to say I'd love to see some Kotor characters, but than again...far better is if you just keep surprising us. Keep up with great work

Interesting lore from the comics. Lots of deep cut stuff. Really enjoy hearing about it all.

Great story, thanks! Love the call to action at the end: "wisdom must always guide power". It's not only true for Star Wars, also a good life lesson.
