It really is a great way to add more to your collection. I never really had a lot of money either, I paid off my car 5 years ago and not having a car payment really helped with a my movie budget. Glad I’m not the only one collecting used physical media, lately all I ever run into is eBay resellers.
@@kleetusvandam Good will once in a blue moon has some, but where I live there are 2 chain stores one called DAV Thrift store, and CHKD Thrift store. When I lived in Rhode Island 5 years ago I was getting Blu-rays between $2-5 dollars that was called SAVERS.
A really great way to build and collection and save some money, there is something great about finding something used that you wanted. Recently I found Batman on batamax that was a huge score for me. What was something you found that was an absolute treasure?
Most of the time I stay within my budget, but not something I think about. I buy what I like sometimes I have to wait for it. The Amazon wishlist does come in handy.
That does suck, I feel your pain. Only recently did my local shops stop throwing away VHS tapes. Never a huge selection living in a military town either so if I don’t check a couple of times a week I’d really miss out. I have a friend in Texas who has multiple giant stores that sell used movies, he sent a video spinning around in one, very jealous but if I ever go on vacation I try and check out local thrift stores just in case. If you don’t already check out Hamilton book. Their online site has a great selection of movies and great prices I order from there often. 6 dollar Blu-ray’s and no matter how much you order always 4 dollar shipping on the whole purchase.
Hi, youtube recomended me your video, my father have a lot of movies on the cd's in basement that he collected years before, great collection. Can you recomend me some good price/quality ratio blue ray player please? It would be cool to watch some of the movies in good quality and feel the vibe of the 80/90s. Cool video, i like the trend of turning into phisycal media. Sorry for my english. Greetings from Poland. :)
That is great to be able to jump right in to physical media like that and want to enjoy your father’s collection. I’m not super familiar with the price difference in Poland, but two players I would recommend if you are just starting out that I know you can get on Amazon in your country. The Sony-S7600 or the Panasonic DP-UB450EG-K. Both decent budget friendly players. You can spend more but I wouldn’t starting out. You can always upgrade later if you love the hobby.
I feel your pain, we live in a military town and the selection isn’t as good as many other places. We have a 2nd Charles too, it’s the worst for your wallet. The only reason I go there is when I have some harder to find movies I’m looking for or sheer boredom. Even when you get a good deal there it’s still expensive. The place I save the most is the local thrift store, goodwill is horrible now they send the good stuff to their eBay site, maybe find something a couple times a year.
Do you budget conscious or are you a buy what comes out no matter what?
Neither. If you like it and think it’s worth it you buy it!
@@gallynuts Can't argue with that!
Sounds exactly how I do it and have been doing it for years. Don’t make a lot of money, but I have a massive collection because of these tricks. 15:08

Great video mate 👍🏻
Thanks 👍I figure more people should look into used media some of it is trash but every disc I bring home is scratch free pristine.
Great video! I gotta ask, what type of thrift stores have blurays and 4ks for $2?

I build a collection of around 250 movies 2/3 blu ray ,in 2 years, almost all used. 1 to 5€ per blu ray,1€ for a dvd.

Unfortunately, the thrift stores near me don’t hold movies.

I live in a large city but no good used stores for physical media. We have a 2nd and Charles but they are so over priced
