      It’s a super easy fix if that’s the problem. If you can afford a new set of tubes that’s the way to go. I’m just always broke so I went with quick set JB Weld. It worked but now the car does need a solenoid replaced. Figures lol. The transmission fluid is not cheap for those cars. Glad it helped you out.

      @@JoeRobertsPersonalpage yeah.. trans was garbage. swapped out trans with a good used one. all good now. waste of time doing this .. wish it'd been that easy though. hardest part was getting pan to seal, even with a new gasket. theres a couple places where theres no bolts, had to drill out the hole there and put a bolt with a nut on it so that it would tighten up on those two spots... it worked. no leaks.

    • @JoeRobertsPersonalpage
      @JoeRobertsPersonalpage ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robertnz71 Bro! I just went through the same thing with the pan and the two extra holes. Started leaking worse then before! Did exactly what you did with two bolts but I couldn't get nuts on the other side with no room. I just hammered a couple of bolts in there and stopped the leaks. lol. However, Transmission is still slipping but not as bad. Did you install a new tranny on your own?

    Hello Codemans Auto, I have an 09 HHR. I have all 4 fwd gears but it will not go into OD. No codes in ECM and all new solenoids 2yrs ago. Do you have any suggestions on what to check? You seem pretty familiar with this transmission. Filter changed at the same time as solenoids. THANKS.

    • @codemansauto208
      @codemansauto208  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      when you go back to check the solenoids there is the manual valve behind shift solenoid 1-2 in the right hand corner
      im thinking that maybe you hit this valve and unhooked your linkage?? check this first if it is unhooked the manual valve could be feeding the forward clutch but the shifter will still feel as if it working properly

    • @codemansauto208
      @codemansauto208  ปีที่แล้ว

      Losing all gears is a sign that maybe he has torque converter or pump issues but make sure you check both axles because I have seen these axles break clean and you will lose all gears

    Hello, I just bought a 2010 Cobalt yesterday that doesn't want to shift into first gear. I need to be rolling enough just to catch second gear then it slips for a second then goes to 3rd gear. It drives ok once I get to 4th . If I'm on a hill I'm pretty much Fd if people are behind me. The only code that came up is Power Train System "U0073 -00 control module communicator bus" but there is no engine light on the dash. Do you think this could be the problem hopefully? The guy I bought it from said it just started happening suddenly. Please lmk? Great video and Subbed!

      it wouldnt be the same part
      if you are taking off in a higher gear then low in any range then you need to start looking into a possible electrical issues such as fuses or solenoid

    I have a question i recently replaced my shift solenoid my Chevy hhr but after doing so I can’t reverse or drive forward it goes in park and neutral but once I try to drive or reverse it won’t move what can that be?

    • @codemansauto208
      @codemansauto208  ปีที่แล้ว

      when you removed the solenoid
      on the right hand side of the transmission
      you could have accidently knocked the manual valve connecting rod loose
      it sets behind the solenoid and is very sensitive and would advise to check that first
