Thanks, Donna! There's something special about being out and about while most people are still sleeping. I may be jetlagged, but it's fine if I get moments like these 😊
Hello friend; sorry your jet lagged, I always hate being just like. But thank you from the bottom of my heart to the top of my head for the early morning walk through ballard. It was one of those walks where you put your hands in your pockets and stroll along contemplating the universe and how lucky we are to live in such an awesome City in such a beautiful part of the world. Not to mention, because of the lack of ambient noise I found the sound of your footsteps rather relaxing :-) I'm not sure why :-). Anyway thanks again for letting me walk with you it was an enjoyable walk with my afternoon cup of tea.
Hi friend! This jetlag wasn't as bad as other trips I've had, so I can't complain too much! It's kind of nice being up at 4AM before anyone else, I got so much done before my workday even started! But I'm mostly back to normal now, which is also nice 😉 This walk is up there in terms of favorites, if only because it was such a fun time of day to be awake and alert for. And Ballard is just so charming in and of itself. We walked passed the pub you commented on a few videos back! I still haven't been haha. One of these days. Always appreciate you stopping by!
Hello again friend; Ballard is one of my favorite places of all time. And you're right being up early like really early before the rest of society gets up is always interesting, I have to do it once in awhile, when my brother helps look after me when, my caregivers are on vacation etc. And it's always interesting to watch the world wake up you almost feel like a veil is being lifted or something when the Sun rises. I really enjoyed the walk it looked very peaceful and relaxing and it was fun to see some of my favorite shops like consignment without anyone in them :-) I started to imagine that some of the mannequins might come alive if you turn the camera the other direction :-). You should definitely check out the clouds Sunday :-), I didn't realize that the splintered wand had a 2-month waiting list! :-) I'll have to see what I can do about getting on that. Anyway thanks again for a wonderfully relaxing walk. I hope you had a wonderful day even though you had to go to work. :-) PS, I've had friends from New York tell me that Ballard reminds them of a combination of the West village and Williamsburg; you think that's true? I don't have an opinion I haven't spent enough time in New York City to judge, when I've been to New York it's mostly upstate.
You know, I was telling a friend back in NYC recently the same thing -- I think West Village + Williamsburg is a pretty decent comparison of Ballard. And if you can get a res at Splintered Wand, go! They release a new date every day for 2 months in advance, and you might have to pick a weird time, but I've seen a few reservation slots open every now and again. My friend and I went at 8PM on a Thursday, which is a little late for dinner, but we didn't care 😂 It's not crowded or noisy, so you can actually enjoy the entire experience! Highly recommend.
@@WhereTheLocalsRoam Hello friend; I will definitely have to see about getting a reservation at the splintered wand, I think it would be a wonderful thing to do with my grandparents, you know bring a little magic to their lives as it were :-). And it's good to know then New York transplant friends can get some NYC vibes in Seattle if they know where to look. :-) thanks again for all the videos, I hope you had an absolutely phenomenally wonderful day. PS I might be watching the Roosevelt Island vids later to go with my tea :-)
ah yes jet lag is horrible! its fun a street with nobody ! the windows and the street are very nicely colored ! sunlight slowly rising up is beautiful ☀
I'm slooowly getting over it, made it until almost 6 this morning! 😂 But Ballard Ave this early in the morning is such a cool place. It looks magical. So glad you liked it, Laura!
