30$ an hour is crap for a mechanic with a A&P Give me a break Nobody wants to live in Snow freezing 8 months out of the year Tools to work on aircraft are 20,000$ dollars I’ve been in the aviation industry for 25 years. The only way to make it is contracting because they always lay off people ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!
$30 was starting salary when this video was released. It’s around $45 now but after some experience you can top out at $70 with major airlines. Good luck.
Yes it is a sick joke, the majority make under $65,000 and it requires two years of full time school and tens of thousands to get your foot in the door.
Stand by or space available travel , especially with more than one person can be extremely stressful . You are never sure until you are on board and the doors are closed. Imagine being at the gate and now tell your wife and kids there are no available seats on the flight. Mechanic job is good especially with the major airlines. Good luck.
for some one with that responsibility and doing that lenght of training the pay is really low.
