    If you can't win with numbers, win with tech. Nice.

      @vincent Ng armoured vehicles are useless in the jungles. Considering that the likely opponents that Singapore would be facing, both Malaysia and Indonesia, has >50% of their land being jungles, Singapore's superior numbers in both armoured vehicles and jets would literally not matter(just look at US and Vietnam). Sure Singapore would be incredibly formidable in urban environments like Johor but other than that, it's likely that Singapore would not survive a war against Malaysia and Indonesia. You just can't compare mere conscripts with 2 years of training and terrible morale to a professional and voluntary soldier.

      @@ookelim8932 Remember what the British thought about tanks being usless in Malayan Jungles? And how the Japanese made use of tanks in Malaya? Does the 2 and 2 connect with each other?
      And Singapore's pre emptive strike doctrine is to annihilate the enemy's heavy weaponary before sweeping in with their mechanized and motorized units, which means that the enemy would only be left with unsupported infantry on the battlefield. Which is also why the SAF have been training in combined arms warfare for decades. While Malaysia is still trying to figure out the word "Combined".

    Much of what Singapore has today was helped along by Timoney Technology of Ireland designed vehicles.

    I like tanks and Im proud Singapore has an advanced armoured vehicle. Its surprising it has anti-tank ammunition for a 30mm cannon. Well done SAF 👍

    • @Benjamin-wy4dj
      @Benjamin-wy4dj 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Consideration is based on the region's military development. 30mm should be good enough.

    • @jeddjoseph237
      @jeddjoseph237 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Its designed to be a AFV (armoured fighting Vehicle) its not meant to be a "tank" or a MBT (Main Battle Tank). Thats what we have the leopard tank for. this is meant for facing other AFVs or infantry units, it can take down mechanised infantry without a problem. 30mm AP rounds can pierce most armour and HE rounds can definitely take down infantry.

    • @03Phenex
      @03Phenex 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 30mm is still good enough it used the same ammunition as the GAU 8 avenger in the A10 it also has APFSDS

    • @aegisghost
      @aegisghost 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      30mm is used for general infantry support. The Hunter has 2x Spike ATGM in a hidden roof launcher for antitank work.

    I may be wrong. I get the impression we are geared towards a strike capability. This is good.
    Looking at Ukraine from Russian point, there lacked a ground sweep and a Co ordinated ground hold movement net capability.
    In battle, there is a need to hold ground in a mobile context, securing, denying enemies that space, as well as to eliminate all residue threats in a moving net grid order.
