This is so true, I’m 39 years old and I had my daughter at 35. Before I had my daughter I used to drink everything including red wine. No headaches or anything. I had a high tolerance. After my daughter, I noticed I broke out with hives out of nowhere. I went to see an allergist and they told me I’m allergic to pollen and dust. Watching this makes so much sense now. I have 2 sips of wine now and I get an instant headache. But I can drink mixed cocktails and beer. Thank you for this video.
RWH but I’m now in my 40s and hoping I outgrew this allergy? Sipping my first class of red in years with crossed fingers and lots of water on deck! No problems with chocolate, soy, white wine or sugar. Maybe this is a yeast thing…I always thought it was the tannins. This is a great video!
I get headaches from red wine. I am a wimp and only have one glass, so my headaches aren't caused by overconsumption. Based on your video, I am susceptible to histamines, tannins, tyramine, at minimum. I hope you will recommend some specific red wines, including grape variety and region and brand, that we can try if we are susceptible to headaches.
Hi! "Headache sometimes " I have found Malbec & Tempranillo, Sangiovesse do not induce a headache as much as Cabs, Merlot, Cheap wines always will induce insomnia, Headache and some flushing. love these videos! Thanks! Lol animal, body part on label =sugar
A few days ago I had two glasses of red wine and what resulted was an absolutely brutal headache lasting 30 hours. I was pretty much incapacitated for the entire next day and the following night where I had trouble sleeping because of the headache. I’m guessing it has something to do with the tannins, histamines and congeners in the wine that I reacted badly to and I may be intolerant of alcohol at this point in my life. I used to tolerate it better but now i’m not going to touch alcohol again for a very long time because that was brutal and I was sick for two days. Another thing I should mention was I also had pretty bad body aches the following day, that’s not uncommon following a hangover from alcohol but I only had around 2 glasses worth of wine, i’m not sure exactly what caused this reaction
I get the exact same thing from red wine. 3 days incapacitated is a lot of time lost and it just increases my headache so much more to know i lose so much time. What I found helps, is sniffing peppermint drops on a cotton pad. Its really good stuff. Try it on your next headache, take deep breaths and just sniff the peppermint while you lay down. For some reason peppermint really helps falling asleep and counters the migraine significantly. Also, what helped me a LOT is not water , but drinks with electrolytes. I get a german brand called Elotrans, its powder electrolytes thought for vomit situations. But it REALLY helps me to have such a drink right at the onset of the migraine, it reduces it a lot.
I read that many people have reactions to sulfates in wine that activate the histamines we all have, thus they get headaches. The article mentioned if these people take a low-dose anti-histamine tablet, that will help.
This is all very interesting!!! In recent years, I've been getting headaches once a month, and red wine definitely worsens them or triggers them if they haven't started yet. My solution has been to not drink red wine during that time of the month, and I seem to be fine other times. You've given me more things to think about...
I just get healed from headache from drink red wine. I took it at Friday night and got the headache at Sunday evening. Can't stand with the headache though I only take 3 glasses 😭
I was always told it was from the sugar in the wine. I love to hear all the culprits. This was so informative. I love OOlong tea so I will try this method. Also, I find if I have a bottle of water after a glass of wine I am better. "Headache" I am so glad you added that Tylenol and alcohol are detrimental to the liver! What are your favorite wines?
Hi Elizabeth I have a number of favorites, both reds and whites. 2 reds that stand out are Chateauneuf du Pape, a blend of several grapes, from France and Blaufrankisch from Austria. What about you? Do you enjoy wine? Do you have a favorite ? Pierre

No headache, but yes to fatigue, tiredness, nausea, and shortness of breath. White wine gives no problems.
