I have sand drag for years. I feel you have plenty of tire. You are in some real soft sand there. You have a 2 spd shift at a 100 ft. The higher gear will load the motor and allow the tire to hook up. Your to use to hearing you belt drive no shift SXS running up the rpm. The car you have now has big horse power shift early to load the motor and hang on don't drive it like your SXS. Your doing a great job a little more seat time and you'll be the guy's to beat. That thing is awesome I've been following the build.

Taking some of that camber out in the rear might help with getting more surface of the tire for more traction. when it squats is cambers out even more

Lightening up the front will help it transfer weight to the rear too.
It’s a 2jz and needs that weight up front with sand tires up front you’d be wheelieing and not hooking

Definitely hitting 2nd early would bring the wheel speed up, propelling you faster
This. In sand you have wheel spin all the way through the gears, so an early shift will likely equate to faster wheel speed, spinning, to get more acceleration. I feel like the tires are 'catching up' to the gear as it's hitting the top of the gear. Unlike asphalt where you are locked in and need to rev out the rpm, here and early shift and get the wheel speed up higher. Sand and mud is all about wheel speed. Not traction so much as you would think.

I think with fluid surfaces, acceleration is transferred to the vehicle as long there is enough surface contact. The tires are gonna have a peak "pumping" rpm per foot and if you surpass that by X amount then you slow down. I don't know anything about it really but I assume it's similar to boat propellers. The amount of water they move should allow the engine to reach the power band and limit rpm to near peak HP.
I find with big enuff paddles sand hooks just fine

Bigger diggers are a taller paddle, and your rear suspension seems to “bounce” off the hit
I thought it crouched down super well like a drag car then realised in the slow-mo it was just digging out the sand lol
This was the first thing I saw, it unloads the suspension bad no tires will fix that.

is it running the stock oil injection OMP or is it premixed, this is a pioppet valved loop chared 2 stroke so i heard they like Motule 800 2t, not sure but its dry sump and oil injected and can run in any position fro what i heard. this is what the toyota s-2 stroke loop charged 2 stroke was based off of. This mor can ru tiled at 90 degree like any outboard could with oil injection! What would happen if i do this on motule 800 2t? how dies it compare to a marine 2 stroke diesel or rotary outboard.?

I got 5 quarts of Motule 800 2T for my rotary. Pricey stuff but runs good. Unfortunately my 8v92 Detroit 2 stroke and small block v8 2 stroke are to heave for a project like this. I picked up a 2jz motor and got it on amsoil dominator 2 stroke and working on a homemade oil injection system for it.

Go 6" taller with rear tire size to get more paddles on the ground. Keep moving to a higher final gear ratio and keep increasing wheel speed until your RPM's drop enough that turbo boost starts to fall off. Find the optimum RPM range that gives you the best combination of max torque and max boost. When you get all of that dialed in you will probably find that your wheel base is too short and it will try to flip over on its lid. Increase wheel base as needed and reduce weight everywhere possible.

Idea;
Turn the start rpm up to get more wheel speed/spin in the start and perhaps even short shift into second to load the turbo for even more spin down the track. -I think you might go faster as it looks to me like those paddle tires more or less propulses you forward by the same function as a water jet does on a boat. -Displacing material/weight. If it doesn't work, you will at least take the record for highest rooster in sand :)

I would mix no leaner than 50;1 with this motor. Im not familiar with stock oil injection system on the 2JZ, have you tried castor maxima 927 premixed! i use xd-100 in my rotary and detroit 8v92 2 stroke. The 2JZ can be run in multiple positions just like a sled motor! Its basically a chainsaw on steroids but i would go with motule 800 2t if i had one.

From a mud racing point of view the more wheel speed the better (spin to win), in terms of tire bigger diggers are the most aggressive paddle (probably best for soft sand) but maybe think about large diameter boggers cut and scooped that's how a lot of fast rails hook up when they over power small dia tires like paddles. You guys are killing it as is, keep it up, love watching!!
Rear suspension needs to have less rebound. More sag. From the outside I can't feel it first hand.

Good Fn God! I can imagine how it feels to have the ground thumping under your feet when those buckets carve sand out and hurle it 3 states back. I think the earth rotation has changed again. Sun of a gun that thing Rips, Snorts, Sh*ts, Gits, and a bunch of other stuff I can't even think of. I think it wants to accelerate so fast your soul gets left at the line.

I've been reading a lot of the comments most think you need bigger tires. You guy's are some of the fastest guy's out there when it comes to SXS. If I was to buy one I would want your in put. What you have there is a total different beast. I know you have a huge following and wanted to have the revel at a major event and it was a big hit. You were smart to take it away from everything going on to try it. Now your team needs to bring that thing out during the week after a wind storm when no ones around and the sand is smooth. You need seat time in that beast so your not afraid of it. You have a good team of fast guy's you need to go out with no distractions. You have your blog to share it with us. When I first got enough hp in my car to run in the mid 3s I was still getting beat by less powerful cars. It wasn't the horse power it was a driver who knew how to harness what they had and their "willingness" to win. With all the horse power your making you have to learn how to short shift it out of the gate. A bigger tire is just going to take away from your top end and put unneeded wear on your drive train. Most fast guy's with a 800 plus hp have hundreds of hours of seat time. When your the fast guy at the hill everyone that's fast wants a piece of you. Be ready for a guy who pulls up next to you at the hill with a 600 hp car with less tire and plows your doors off with 10,000 people watching. That will make you a believer in seat time is just as important as hp. Love what you guy's are doing. I'm so impressed with all you've done. Be safe.

Also, I understand slowing the ramp down to make it hook better but sometimes you can hit it harder to get rid of some wheel spin. I know it sounds crazy but it can work 💪
"We actually need more tire"... Idk if they still do this but WAY back in the day they would double up the rear (duallys) paddles. That's your fix. Mr. Quick was the first sand rail to do this in the 70s. (edit) maybe some added weight to the front so it can get on plane faster.
