A question.
I have 3 PTZ cable camera (1 hikvision and 2 other brand), and these work fine with the iVMS-4200 software.
I also have a wifi ip camera (this camera have onvif active and go true my house modem , but the Hikvision don`t find this camera automatic, any tips what to do?
I have tried a manuell setup, with no sucess.
Other ip camera software as "Ip camera viewer" find all 4 camera automatic, but i prefer Hikvision.
As you understand, i am on a low amature levell.

Hi and thanks for the feedback , this is Quite a hard one to answer without seeing this myself to be honest, I would download ODM ( onvif device manager ) and search for this camera, make sure when you login to the software with the camera user name and password , you look for a ONVIF discoverable option on the camera setting and make sure its on, then save and try again
@@DVSLTD Thanks., The ODM find the Wifi Camera automatic, but why not the Hikvision software?

Hi, For agres now, as well as the query about the virtual draw for line crossing, everytime I open the Basic settings as you do in the video, I get a box indicating a script error and nothing happens. If I open the Advanced option, the page opens briefly with all the options but then vanishes leaving just a few of the items to select.. I can send a pic of the former error if you let me know how ... Any ideas?

When a Hikvision NVR is activated does it need to be connected to the Internet? Can these Hikvision NVR be run on a fully private network that had no access to the Internet?
Hi , they don’t have to be connected to any network to be activated and of course can run on private network with no internet access you just can’t then view it remotely if needed
Very informative video but the reason I am browsing is that when I connect off-network devices through hi-connect I can see all my cameras but the moment I restart my PC the devices become offline and new devices appear. The problem is that this is messing with my views since I have to re-add all the cameras every time I restart. Is this normal?
regards the re-start of the PC , its not as clean cut when using HIK-Connect , I will take a look here

do you have any information on camera management...System-->Camera Management. Top header is Channel Camera Name IP Address Channel No. Management Port Security Status Protocol Connect Operation. Under Connect it's blank and I use to have the http:/IP Address in blue. Now Nothing since Firmware upgrade. How do I get that back?

can I eliminate the automatic scan feature, I dont like that feature , one of my cameras it doesn't work n that ptz?
When adding the device and I need to enter the USER NAME and PASSWORD, is that the username that I am using for the iVMS or for the camera itself ?

How do I add multiple DVR on different network to Ivms 4200 on one desktop
I am trying to operate the Hikvision IVMS V 3. How do I actually synchronize the time, step by step? I have tried everything and we are unable to sync the time. I so unqualified for this job that I am even unable to find the serial number of the system I am using. I have used the training videos many times and they have helped me a lot but these two issues really messing with the job!
Hi charlene, that’s ok , the best way is to go to 4200 > System Configuration > then Time sync , Enable it and set time to say 1pm , each device connected will get the time update from the 4200 PC at 1PM , hope this helps 😊
@@DVSLTD thank you. I have done this multiple times but the system goes out of time. It will not keep our current time no matter what I do. Even after synching it, it reverts in reverse approximately 90 minutes. But I will try again as you suggest. I am happy for your support!!
What is the method to set up virtual line crossing by drawing on the image on the line crossing event page in iVMS 4200 version 3.5, I can not find this function anywhere!. I still have the older version, 2.8 but the latest releases does not appear to have this feature..

I need help. I have hikvision and able to receive images at home on my android phone . How ever I am unable to have remote access from outside.
I followed the Procedure keying in IP address on IE and I was directed to hikvision screen . I don't remember user name and password. With the e mail I selected forgot password but it says I did not register security questions . So I am stuck to set remote access. Pl guide tks.
Hi Dave. I have iVMS-4200 for Mac, USA version. Your tutorials have been very beneficial. For some reason, when I go under Even Management and the Camera Event, my camera folder is listed, but none of my individual cameras are listed there under. The same applies for Hik-Connect. As a result, I can't change my line crossings, motion detection, etc. Please help!
I can see all of my cameras just fine in live view, remote playback, etc. This is really my only issue with iVMS, but it is a big one.
Hi kevin, I don’t have a mac but I will try to look into this for you , it may be a limitation of HIK-Connect and the MAC
@@DVSLTD Thank you so much. I've really banged my head on the desk with this one. My local rep/install tech is also at a loss. He suggested I shut-off the image and video encryption, whereas I had been using the serial key, per your video instruction. Unfortunately, shutting off the encryption didn't solve the problem.
I cant get access to a MAC, are you using HIK-Connect to add the sites in by any chance?,
@@DVSLTD Dave, sadly, I've found no "plug-in" that allows for Hik-connect when using a Mac. Oddly, my installer CAN access my event management when he logs into my NVR via ivms-4200. He uses a Mac as well. So it is something particular about the set-up of ivms-4200 on my computer that is different from his that is causing this problem.

it could be the spec of the PC , that is the most likely cause
VCA Rule must be ON in System Configuration /Image otherwise if you have already set Line Crossing Detection for cameras you will not see on the screen the blue crossing line that you have previousely set in each camera. In the rest I did not find any visible or important changes compared to the previous version 3.1.1.13 build20191101.
Hi , the VCA rule can be turned on / off on most versions of 4200 to be honest, there are some updates around certain functions and some improvements also 😊
How many channels can be simultaneously viewed & recorded on IVMS-4200 free version ?
Is there a better software program for ivms 4200? also I would like to eliminate the midlle automatic scan how do I do that

Great video. I have been using the AI Dashboard for a multiple temp screening cameras. I can't figure out how to save a view for AI dashboard. I set up a view of camera layouts on main view but they do not push over to AI dashboard when you open the app meaning you need to arrange live view for cameras each and every day as they are streaming to a laptop dedicated for thermal which gets closed down everyday. Do you know a fix around this ? Many thanks
Hi I have just installed a new Colorvu system with 3 cameras, on two of them when I go into the ptz settings I am unable to select 5MP the only options are PAL or NTSC on the other camera I can select 5MP no problem, the other settings for all three cameras are the same.
can you rename camera when its added by hikconnect and not a local device as per video As when i try i can rename but when i right click the software says updating camera failed although when i check the app it shows name has changed on bottom right of image
Hi , on the latest firmware for the modern devices it will bring the name of the camera in with it , have you updated your devices to the latest firmware?

i can rename them on the app and then it brings it onto the ivms4200 but when i try to remote into the device p2pgroup image video display and rename the camera that only changes the camera image name in botton right corner IF i goto system camera i can see the list of cameras but edit is greyed out
What is the minimum spesification for pc running live stream 16 camera?
Min would be i3 4GB with graphics , but you may want to up that again 😊
Great Video! thanks. I can't get my 4 door access controller online though, I am connected to the same LAN, but no internet at this location. the device automatically pulls up when I click the search online device button, I can select and activate it, I can add it, but after it is added it comes up as offline. any tips would be greatly appreciated. I think it might be something with the IP address but I'm not sure.
Hi john, if the software sees it and activates it then it’s there and working , it does appear to be the IP address, the IP address of the PC / Network and the Access control unit need to be the same range, you can set the IP address of the PC under control panel and network settings and make sure the access control unit is also in the same range, if you set the IP of the PC to say 192.168.0.200 then make the IP of the controller 192.168.0.201 for instance as long as they don’t conflict with other items on the network

Hi john , please go to 4200 system configuration and then live view and turn off the “vca rule “ and apply 😊

i have a question i want it to record motion detect videos to my local hard drive iv installed a 3t third drive but want 2 save motion detects to it how do i do this with this software
You will need to install 4200 and during install select client and storage server, you then set the storage server element up as the HDD you added, then under 4200 client you can select that location as the local PC storage, I haven’t done a video on this as its free software and not promoted due to stability
