It is an amazingly beautiful country, I had no idea until I recently started watching the videos about Portugal. I really enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing.
Smiled all the way through this vid❤. All the little tascas to visit, the Celtic like music, chocalhos (bells) and the friendliness of the locals. These festas during summer still capture the authentic rural life of Portugal and you get to march through the village on calçada romana.
The music is not Celtic. It is the use of an instrument from the same family as the bagpipes used in Great Britain that gives that impression. The origin of this instrument comes from the Mediterranean or Near East. The Roman Empire spread the instrument throughout Europe, according to records from Greek and Roman historians and philosophers. Currently, we can find several variations of this instrument throughout Europe, from the north of the United Kingdom to Turkey.
I loved this video. It shows you can really have a nice time at these festivals. It also showed both of your personalities and great sense of humour. Brilliant ❤️
I enjoyed today’s video. What a lovely village. The atmosphere was great, everyone enjoying themselves with no one pushing or getting angry. Thanks for sharing.
AMAZING NIGHT I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT thank you both for a great night out what a great festival "the shepherds watched there flocks by night all seated on the ground an Angel of the lord came down and glory shone around." Good night you two THANKS.
Hey guys! You were absolutely correct. Chocalhos are rattles. Or bells too, but bells are called "sinos" in portuguese. Chocalho = Rattle / Sino = Bell. It looks like a very nice party. Loved that house!!! Those ganite stairs and the arch. Beautiful. The Palácio do Picadeiro (I guess there is no word in English for picadeiro, it means a horse ridding ring, an arena), was built by a rich magistrate on the XVIII century, but was never finished (he ran out of money), despite that it had several owners since, but never finished somehow.
What an awesome video. I am also portuguese and it takes me back to the feast that we always used to go to in Benoni at the Catholic church. Great stuff
Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun at the festival. The Festivals are what we look forward when we visit Portugal. Making news friends , eating good food. Particularly, in the summer. What a joy. All the best mates. 👍👍 Have a another round for us. Jim and Harriet (On our way to a Argentine Restaurant in DC )

Hey guys!! Hope this comment goes through, I have been having difficulties posting but been watching as usual. I ABSOLUTELY ADORED this episode, it was so much fun, such good energy, and you guys look so in love! Gina is looking absolutely beautiful and they way Ken looked at her was adorable. You guys are the best. I laughed a lot!! :)
I absolutely loved this vlog 😍 Great to see you & Gina out together having fun, and loved the village fiesta vibe - the real Portugal. Hope the hangovers weren’t too harsh Ken 😂 Love all your videos and your property ones are excellent, but it’s nice to see fun times too 😎 🍻
This video made us laugh. The testicles 😂and you appear to become quite a chatterbox when you've had a couple beers Ken! Bet Gina couldn't wait to get on the bus and de-people. 😊
There are festas throughout Portugal all through the summer. If you want you can go party every week, from thursday until sunday. We just had our annual party at the end of last month and on Friday and Saturday, the festa ended at 03:00 or 04:00. Beer's dirt cheap here and sangria too. You'll have lots of fun.
I'm with Gina - too many people :) We tried Oktoberfest yesterday and didn't last very long. Love all the festival vibe, love the foods and beers, wishing we could keep the Covid distance standards :)
It was a great video! At the end when you panned yourself back at the farm, I thought I detected some extra sparkle in your eyes and thought you were hangng onto a fence for dear life 😂
