I load a lot of .45 CAS cases and use a similar die set up. For loading data you can use .45ACP target loads or as I do use 20 grains of FFFg Gunpowder and a 210 grain lead Big Lube bullet.

    Questions:
    1. How many time you can reload starline case?
    2. Are you "annealing" case? (This fancy heating option like for rifle cases , example .3006)?
    3. Ssme powder load for colt and winchester rifle?
    4. Which lee mold for bullets?
    5. Bullets where lubbed or you are lubbing them before loading?
I still wonder go on stuff 38spec/357mag or go to .45LC all same on pistol and rifle for CAS...

      1) I have a video on the question, but the answer is cases can be reloaded as many times that the case can be reloaded. Meaning there is no set number. Look at the case for cracks or splits or headcase separation.
      2) no I don't anneal. I shoot them until they wear out and get new cases. The amount spent on annealing machines will pay for Lots of cases.
      3) yes
      4) depends on the application.
      5) the powder coat is the lube.
      6) for CAS go with 38 special. Lighter firearm means faster. Unless you like the old school 45.

From what I gather, the .45 "Cowboy" Special is a hybrid of of a .45 Colt / .45 Long Colt rim used on a .45ACP case. The .45 Special (smaller Colt rim) is NOT a .45 Auto Rim (thicker rim=M1917 revolver) along with .45ACP "weak" load data works for the .45 Special. Nice concept for the .45 Special as its brass is spendy, but quality Starline stuff!

Does the new brass need to be resized the first time you load it?

Thanks for the fast reply. I’m new to reloading. Just using a Lee hand press. I did resize the new brass but wondered if it was really necessary.👍🏻
