I need to dig my old Razor out of the garage. Lots of good memories riding the thing, but it's really hilly in my area so it's a pain to use to commute anywhere. Mostly ended up just going around the neighborhood as a kid.

Scooter is a lot better if you want safety and range. Skateboard is more better for store shopping or work.
The problem with scooters is you can't just bring it inside stores. They want you to lock it up outside like a bike.

This feels like a paid review: only mentioned pros, no cons. When you did mention the price (which is a con for me since im broke) at the END of your video, you only said it was reasonable and didn't point out price for performance which is bad in my opinion. The description you gave could describe any e scooter. Example: You said it was smooth. How smooth? Do you feel cracks on the sidewalk? Are your legs tired after a long distance trip? I'm a small, middle age woman is just beginning to ride it comfortably around town and can just about carry the Mini-X for a few short minutes, but at least I can bring it in a restaurant or supermarket, convenience store, subway train or LIRR and have it sit with me and another person. I love my boosted board, but I feel like boosted needs to step it up with their scooter line.
It's a bit too pricey for what it actually delivers, especially when you compare it to something like Turbowheel lightning, which has 40 mph top speed, 40 miles of range, and is in a similar price range. I am not sponsored by them at all, but I'd recommend watching a review of it down below to get an idea of what else is out there. Boosted shouldn't be able to over charge customers just because they feel like they can.

Don't get that unless you want to ride slow and short distance. The Dualtron Ultra can hit a speed of 80kph and a max range of 120km. It rocks twin disc brakes and is much easier to control. Just make sure you get road tyres than your scooter can hit close too 100 as mine does.

I've reserved a Rev already but keep looking for honest reviews. This review is certainly one of the better ones. Objective and critical but much more useful of a review than simply glowing reviews or simply negative reviews for entertainment. I realize it's a much more expensive scooter and certainly pretty heavy but I figure the build quality, as highlighted in the video, make up for it. I decided against the cheaper scooter options in the $500 to $1000 range because their build quality is lacking. I've seen the Rev in person but haven't ridden one yet. I'm comfortable it will be satisfactory as a commuting vehicle. Thanx!
Edit: really appreciate the demonstration of lugging this massive thing around the subway, stairs, the display demo, the charging explanation, etc.

The lack of Suspension and along with being over 40 lbs. Makes me want to wait for something more comfortable. There are better specs out there for scooters but none with the "Boosted" brand. I'll wait for the next Gen

    • @cggg490
      @cggg490 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@Marty "suspension" is not necessary for most city riding and that's all I intend to do. I don't have to struggle with stairs so the weight is not an issue for me either. It was built with "vehicle grade" in mind, meaning it should be sturdy and tough enough to withstand street use. I think there is no "best" product in general but what fits one's own needs best. what other scooters do you believe have equally good specs?

    Here's a few problems.
    ** It's $1599.
    ** It's only go 25 mph.
    ** It's slow battery consumption.
** 3 hrs to fully charged then can't last at least 50 to 100 miles distance.
    ** It sucks.
There's a lot better scooter out there

Man, if Boosted made one of those with a more "off the road" mindset. I'd be down for one. Where I live in Colorado there's a lot of trails and places to ride but most are also unpaved and certain spots get to a point where a bit larger tire and maybe some suspension would go a long way to justify buying one.

In all honesty, I think the Evolve GTR, or Evolve as a whole, is leading the charge in electric ridables. It really does not get the attention it deserves in the States as, in all categories", the best electric ridable available. They don't make a scooter, but as a board it is unmatchable. Range, remote, all terrain, aesthetics. Sam you should check out the recent 30 minute documentary that Evolve Skateboards put out about there GTR, I think you would be sufficiently impressed. Boosted gets a lot of love in this community and they are a great company, but it is just undeniable how far superior Evolve is, both in specs, and as a total experience. I would love to see your review of the newly released GTR.
