I bought Last Voyage of the Demeter when it first came out on blu ray, from Walmart. It came with a nice embossed slip cover. It also has an english Atmos track. I remember being disappointed that it wasn’t immediately available in 4k, however, I’m watching it right now as I’m typing this and the transfer quality if the blu ray is very good; nice colors, clarity, and contrast, no color banding or compression artifacts, and good shadow detail. Great depth of audio with nice bass to the voices on the atmos track. Watching this, I’m very pleased with the quality of the Universal blu ray. I won’t be upgrading this one to 4k anytime soon.
Demeter was a big shock! I've been patiently waiting for Universal to announce the 4K. But now it's coming from Shout. Bonus points. Vampires I figured was coming soon. My favorite vampire movie and just watched my crappy DVD last month.
Do you think we'll get sleepaway camp on 4k next year? A box set with all of them would be so awesome, kinda like how they released Halloween 1995-2002 box set
I'm from the UK 🇬🇧 been holding out for the last voyage of the demeter to come to 4k bluray and finally it gets a release date, so I will be import ing it that's for sure, glad I held off importing the regular bluray.
So I'm seeing last voyage of the Demeter came out October 17th 2023. Seems like universal was holding one year to the physical media release and then released it to scream factory. I'm pretty sure we're going to see the exact same thing with Abigail in July of next year
I'm so jazzed about Vampires on 4k. It's not a good movie by any stretch of the imagination, yet I love it! Amazon has gotten me every Shout/Scream title on release date so far (hopefully I didn't just jinx myself).
I will get both and do like the slip covers, but I have too many posters to even want one. So, I will save in going with the basic copy. I do get packages that offer pins lobby cards and cool stuff, but I try to avoid the posters.
My friend bought Demeter on bluray and we watched it all together and were pretty underwhelmed. I feel like Scream Factory is running low on ammo with their movie selection. I adore Vampires and have had the bluray forever and got it as soon as it was announced a few years back. This 4k is tempting and I may just go for it. Scream/Shout definitely does excellent transfers.
Hi ken i am a subscriber to arrow player streaming service since early october and they put the shaw brothers collections with special features on their service to stream and they have so many cult movies its awsome.
I'll get Sanctum and Demeter on 4k and maybe eventually Vampires. Now Sanctum is nothing like The Abyss as it revolves around a couple if people who get stuck in a cave after heavy rain falls in and they have to try and find another way out. Its a decent movie but nothing great. I am sure that Renfield will come to 4k from Scream/Shout eventually as well.
I refused to buy the Happy Death Day 4ks, no idea about the features either, but they were 4k upscaled. The book of Vampires is better, so I don't own any version of that. Didn't care for Demeter, so meh.
I have never seen the last Voyage of the Demeter so I probably won't pick that up. John Carpenter's vampires I'll buy at some point. I didn't buy the Scream Factory Blu-ray because of the time it was announced and released I had just gotten the Twilight time Blu-ray and that doesn't have much for features on it. I love that movie anyway so I'm excited to check it out on 4K
I bought the Demeter Blu-Ray. I will not be buying the 4K also. I wanted a 4K to start with, but that was not to be. I will not be double dipping. I can’t justify another $40. It is frustrating that a 4K was not initially available, and now a year later I am expected to shell out another $40 bucks to get the 4K. Honestly, it feels like consumers and collectors are being taken advantage of. Many of us will say, enough is enough, and not buy the 4K. That’s sad, because I do want to see the 4K format promoted. But doing it like this doesn’t help the format.
Anyone else wish Scream would just stop with the posters? I'd take the savings on the disc, even if only a $1. I have a half dozen poster tubes collecting dust in a closet.
Shout factory upcoming new releases for January are nothing to write home about. Bc there is new first time releases on bluray or 4k just another batch of recycling catalog titles getting a 4k release at a higher price tag. Shout factory should change their name to recycle factory bc that is what shout factory does 85% percent of the time now & that is sad. Bc there is so many unreleased catalog titles that still are not available on bluray & 4k still to this day & that is sad that shout factory is going the easy & cheap route by just recycling catalog titles instead of going after new & first time catalog titles to be released either on bluray & 4k
@Publiksquare if I had my own lable then I would try to get more first time catalog titles. Then doing what shout factory has been doing for the last couple of years. And this is why shout factory went from being one of the top tear lables to one of the bottom lables. Bc shout factory use to be one of the best in releasing first time catalog titles on bluray and 4k But now there one of the worst in releasing new first time catalog titles & also in price tags for there releases
Demeter was much better than I was expecting. I had very low expectations and it was pretty good
I was held of by the critics. Thanks.
I’m glad I held off on the Demeter Blu Ray. Heck yeah! 4k and from scream factory! Patient bonus points
But you're also paying 3 times as much lol

YES!!!! 2 of my favorite vampire flicks and i will be grabbing them BOTH🙌🏻
I'll stick with the blue ray Demeter
Can not wait for john carpenter vampires 4k, sanctum 4k voyage of the demeter 4k
I knew “Last Voyage” was coming to 4K. Glad I waited.

Gosh dude it has to be coming! They know there is a huge demand for that!
I like Demeter - and yes I bought the Blu. I also bought the Blu of Vampires!
I already knew Demeter was gonna come out in 4k.. So, no hurt feeling on that..
Both look great
I'm from the UK 🇬🇧 been holding out for the last voyage of the demeter to come to 4k bluray and finally it gets a release date, so I will be import ing it that's for sure, glad I held off importing the regular bluray.
The John Carpenter commentary was on the 2015 Twilight Time Blu-ray before Shouts 2019 release
Hello ken it's shopping time
it's ALWAYS shopping time; fuck the bills.
Really enjoyed Demeter, a friend worked on the vfx for it. JC Vampires was always a fave!
I held off because I figured Demeter would get an eventual 4K release.
I just want a night of the living dead 1990 remake 4K steelbook
All this Screaming and Shouting I just wanted a Quiet Place to watch movies and maybe a youtube video about them. ;)
I bought The Last Voyage of The Demeter on Blu-Ray but I love the artwork on the new edition so I'll probably double dip. I actually loved the film.
Damn it, I just bought the Blu Ray of Vampires on sale last week 🤦🏻♂️😂
lol sucks to be u
@NewfieNick 😂 I can always sell it, And just get the 4K later. all good 👍
Hate when that happens. I held off. I think it’s inevitable that majority of Carpenter’s films will get a 4K. Still waiting on Mouth of Madness
Vampires blu ray came out from Scream Factory in 2019
@@TotalMeltdown2 Ohhh damn. I was way off. For some reason I was thinking that was a way earlier Blu-ray.
I have the indicator release
Vampires on 4k yessssssss 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Sanctum is awesome

It’s a great movie. One of the best vampire movies.
Blu-ray is good enough looks great
I wish SF would do better with packaging. Even when you buy from Orbit, they often indicate the slipcovers are damaged.
I will get both and do like the slip covers, but I have too many posters to even want one. So, I will save in going with the basic copy. I do get packages that offer pins lobby cards and cool stuff, but I try to avoid the posters.

I too feel like they are running low on big things to release. Gosh I hope they deliver better month announcements though!
Demeter is awesome as hell
I’m hoping they release a steelbook of Vampires
Hi ken i am a subscriber to arrow player streaming service since early october and they put the shaw brothers collections with special features on their service to stream and they have so many cult movies its awsome.
I do want vampires 4k and preorderd cause I want that cool alternative slipcover but I don't want those damn posters
Ken I would buy the cheaper BD of Demeter before you get the 4K. Movie had mixed reviews.

It is becoming a vicious circle/cycle, or whatever the saying is. You pretty much summed it up for us all...
My hero I can’t blame
Universal with late 4K they dropped 7 Billion on a theme park. I’ll give them a pass lol
I saw Vampire's and Demeter cheaper on Gruv. I love Demeter, but am pissed that it is now on 4k after I just got the blue ray.
Anyone else wish Scream would just stop with the posters? I'd take the savings on the disc, even if only a $1. I have a half dozen poster tubes collecting dust in a closet.
Where's BTILC? Where's 13? I would have taken Ghost of Mars before Vampires. Its gone all quite again about Dusk until Dawn and Sin City again.
Van helsing is the best vampire film.
While im happy for vampires and Demeter. I am disappointed. Still no night of the creeps 4k
Sanctum is not a creature feature

Weak month. Shame.
Strong month for January
@@jeffcunningham0389 Yeah.
Weak wallet too
Last Voyage was as forgetable as what i ate a month ago. No point in it. Nothing stands out in it. Just a big mediocre hour and half
