Thanks for watching!
" I used to be annoyed by people like me" made me burst out laughing!
So kudos to me for bumping into this wonderful young woman. best wishes nd safe travels to you Hana ❤
Hannah is truly "living in her Element"
She's absolutely gorgeous, I'm grinning like a looney because her energy and attitude is contagiously positive. She's a gem 😁
She sure is! 😎👍
Lololol good one!
😂 Funny
Hannah's video was refreshingly cheerful. Thank you for having her on your channel. She gave me some ideas for my own van.
I love her! What a positive and completely authentic person! You put together a great build and I wish you a lot of joy and happiness on your new adventure!! ❤😊
What a nice lady. It sounds like she's really enjoying her Nomad life. Thanks for introducing us to her Bob. Safe travels to both of you
Ralph told me over the many years to always have a home base . He's not with us anymore . He's at the home base in the sky . Miss you POP'S .
Hannah is a shinning Ray of sunshine and no clouds!
Not boring and not mad at the world. Full of guesto and really ready for searching out the interesting places anywhere around her. Her car will be all she needs until it isn't. Great gal. I'd love to meet her and other part time or full time nomads. Thanks Bob for a great video. From Central Oklahoma, see you next time.
You guys rock! Hana here, beyond grateful for your well wishes, feedback, and positivity! Truly, this is the most joyful time in a very full life. C’mon out on the road and follow your big beautiful hearts!❤️ See you at the RTR in January.
Gracie! Love the name! Love the 'love of life!' Hannah's story is wonderful to hear & see.
One good thing about living in an suv or van is that if you get real sick or have a medical emergency is….it turns into an ambulance and you can drive yourself to the hospital and save a bunch of money!
Hannah has the best energy! I put my fridge on the front seat to save room in the back, the Element gets crowded quickly! She is an inspiration.
This was enjoyable to see!
What a warm spirit she is!
I wonder if Hannah knows that elements have a built in table!! It covers the spare tire and then there are legs I believe or you can order them and turns the cover into a decent little table👍🏻👍🏻
Utah Jeff ….here…I owned a 2006 Element and it had no table setup. I know some of the early RAV4’s had a nice table. The reason why it is called a RAV 4 .,. Recreation Activity Vehicle- 4 cylinder
My Element got totaled and I really miss it . Looking to buy another one soon
The older CRVs had the table not sure about the new ones / Element does not
I love you, and your minimalist energy .. keep it for all the good stuff you encounter on your travels. Brilliant attitude. It's infectious!
Love her exuberance!
Dis woman has a personality & a 1/2 😄 she's lovely ,god bless 🙌, o hail up all the way frm Guyana 🇬🇾 south America Bob 🤙👋
Hannah - Well Done! Excellent rig! I am a minimalist too - in Africa.
Her spirit is so refreshing! Good for her!!!
Hannah,, Idea,,Find a Universal swivel seat seat base, then adapt your Element seat to bolt to the swivel base.
Nice comfortable Setup!!👀😃 Love how the K9 walked over and chilled out once the cameras started rolling! 😆
well she is Loud and Funny I wish i was as happy as HER !!!
It was great to such an upbeat person like Hannah. I just finished my first month on the road as a Nomad and I am happy, probably not as happy as she is but, I am getting there. I wish her safe travels.
what a woman...enjoyed her so much, bubbly positive woman
Hannah is exactly my age! Cool setup, the Element is a great design, too. Very versatile. I used to own one and wish I still had it. Honda should start making them again!
Amen David!
Wouldn't an Odyssey be better?
A close family member lived in her Element six to nine months every year for over fifteen years for her traveling job, from Alaska to Mexico. She is now brick and mortar for health reasons, but she still has and uses it. The square shape I think is an asset for living in it.
You know a lot of people don’t understand this type of living but If you think about it these small SUV’s like this element and say a ford flex (what I have) and vans are like mini Winnebago’s😁👍🏻
I like her she's extremely positive and confident with her existence.
What a wonderful setup. A great reminder of what’s possible!
She's a live wire🎉 Wow, the Element gets 25 mph.
MPG, lol
Hi Bob, I always look forward to your videos. they are always very informative and contain more than showing the viewer how to eat breakfast in a van he he. I love this van. It is very cute. She sounds like she has found her perfect life. I am 68 and like her, do not have the money to do both. I travel in my van and also do house and pet sitting as well which I love. I get to have pets without the expense.
Love your Honda Element, great cars.
Love your attitude and lifestyle. 👍👍
Great video! Delightful woman! If you have wheels and any sort of income (for food and gas), you can do this! You just need to be careful so that you can accrue an emergency fund for repairs, etc. That’s what I’m doing on my minimal soc sec. Not easy, but the alternative (mouldering in a subsidized sr apartment in a cheap part of the country with no connections or community) sounds much, much worse!
I want to come hang out with Hannah!
Full of life.
Great interview.
Thanks, Bob.
Hannah, you look plenty happy and quite healthy. Gracie appears to be an efficiently equipped rolling home. You've inspired me to get my Jeep more geared up -- with an awning and easy solar. Plus, I may add a tiny cargo carrier (hitch type platform, & strap a tool box onto it). The Honda looks taller/wider than my Cherokee. And, it has that cool versatile tailgate to use as a table or lounger.
Wishing you safe and fun travels.
Love her attitude!! I’m 62 and have one foot out the door and living in my car BY CHOICE! Can you believe it? By choice. It’s calling me:) I don’t know why and I’m going to stop questioning it and just fkn go! Women like this give us older women such hope and inspiration. God bless her and others like her❤
Love it! Just out there livin' life on her terms, not afraid to get out of her comfort zone and see the country and try something new. That is what life is about folks. And that personality!!!
SUGGESTION: Tell her to Get a roof rack to store things that are seasonal or things that she doesn't need to access all the time...or get a small enclosed car trailer that she can keep attached and locked. She can carry extra water and other supplies in it...or all the things she wants to free herself of right now but might need it later. Also, if she's going to sit out on her porch against the elements and woods...depending on where she is...she needs to purchase a screened tent that she can flush right up against the vehicle so that an animal or person can come up to her so quickly. If she does, she needs to close up the part directly under the tailgate to keep anything from coming underneath. Tents are sold at Walmart, amazon or any sporting goods store...this is the screened ones that she can hang out in during the day after putting a tarp on the ground.
I LOVE that she's barefoot! That's true freedom right there.
Bob, thanks for all you do. I'm a fan and follower ❤️
This is great!! I'm just four weeks away from my trial road trip in my Element. It's so encouraging to see other women doing it successfully. Thank you for this video!! ❤
Love her good energy!
Love the confidence!
No grey clouds here, but the energy and Life that this woman exudes is GREAT!
This might be a good solution for me. I am looking more and more at Nomadic living in an SUV. I like what Honda has to offer in both fuel efficiency and longevity. If I were to find myself single, which will eventually be the case as my husband is older and has Parkinson’s, I will only be able to continue facing life one adventurous day at a time. I watch and learn meanwhile.
I bought a van for the Van Life but I have not had enough time to do anything with it yet so then I bought a pop up ⬆️ and I can tow it
I'm sorry your husband is dealing with Parkinson's. I worry about that, and have found many videos on it, especially using Infrared Treatments, that have helped. Many videos on doing exercise, and even boxing on a large punching bag.
I own the same car ..but when I purchased mine in 2005, brand new (200,000) miles later, it was called Galapagos Greek. Not Kiwi. I have spent very little money on repairs, and she still purrs like a kitten .. I hope Honda starts to make the Element again ..It is the best car I have ever owned !!! and I am 77 years of age
Love your ENERGY Hannah! ✨💖✨
Yeah Hana! So glad we met! Nice to see your interview :-) !!
love her energy and her build.
Awesome inspirational video. As im building out my van for this years trip to Quartzsite. Cant afford to bring my micro mini as gas is crazy. Cant wait for the fun in quartzsite @
I really enjoyed Hannah! She could brighten the darkest day with her personally.
I love her energy and positive attitude! But you never asked her how she goes to the bathroom or cleans herself. You ALWAYS ask that! 😆
Hello all!
Just a tip:
My husband and I have been living full time in a 1987 Class A Bounder for circa seven years, and we love it. HOWEVER, its expensive to heat in Canadian winters and getting more so all the time, and it’s expensive to drive far, so we decided to do a little experiment.
We owned a Kia Spectra as well, and we decided to drive across Canada and sleep in the fully reclining front seats. No build needed.
We did that for three months in 2018, and the seats were wonderfully comfortable to sleep in. We had a GREAT time, and we averaged 28 mpg. Can’t beat that!
Anyway, sadly my husband crashed the Kia after we came home to our RV, so we bought a little beater to run into town when we need to. It’s old though and won’t do for full-time living.
So… we’re currently saving up for a brand new Kia Carnival, and we plan to continue our full-time nomadic lifestyle in that.
We need room for our musical equipment (we give concerts), so I doubt that we’ll bother to build a bed in the back. We carry a cheap tent with us in case we want to sit in the shade in chez lounges, and they’re also handy for washing/showering. (We carry a paddling pool too.)
We do keep a storage locker at ‘home’ in the mountains, as we like to change our clothing and shoes etc seasonally, and this enables us to travel very lightly.
As seniors, we have no interest in making work for ourselves, so we don’t choose to carry much ‘stuff.’
Our new car WILL come outfitted with solar panels though, along with a Bluetti Solar Charger, as we like to watch/stream Netflix in the evenings. (I’m in a wheelchair so we can’t walk as much as we used to.) It’s easy to install a ‘flip up’ doohickey to get the TV out of the way while we’re driving.
I don’t know why more people don’t choose to sleep in their (reclined) front seats. We think it’s a GREAT way to go!
Love and All Good Things,
Jesse.🌹
These Honda Elements are excellent with the reliable 2.4L and hopefully 5 speed stick. Can be made into a camper with the rear sunroof. -The prices are continually going up. Excellent seating for 4, with a high roof and rear seats fold to the wall. 20-25+mpg.
Now that Ford discontinued the successful Transit Connect, the Element may be my next car. It's a great option.
But hopefully I can keep the TC going "to infinity, and beyond." 😉
What I’d like to know is why the car companies stop making the most popular and functional vehicles - Honda and the Element, Ford and the Transit Connect. It makes me wish I could have afforded to buy a second Element and put it in storage for when my current Element, aka “Pumpkin” (color is Orange and I bought her on Halloween 2007), finally croaks … Pumpkin currently has 110,000-ish miles and is still going strong! Honda, please bring back the Element‼️
@@michaelinejunefrost9437 they were scheduled to bring it back then Covid hit and they didnt. But the redesign was said to be smaller, so I'm not sure we're missing anything. I have a 2008 with 128k miles and adore it. Have traveled and lived out of it for a month at a time and loved it.
Get the swivel! you're worth it : )
Thank you! Just days after this video was shot, two friends at the rtr swiveled it for me!!! ❤️
Love her good cheery attitude and many happy days to her🎉
Hello from Puerto Rico
Inspiring person. She's living a great life.
1 of my Sons has an element & loves it. All my Son's are Honda guys with 2 ,being Honda mechanics( these 2 live off grid & camp several days out of the week) Hondas are strong runners ( My Son's has almost 300k on it) He made a rack for the top. He has a hammick & pulls up by a tree & hands out in nature. Elements live a long, long time. Enjoy it! ✌️💞👍
I love her ❤ she’s so happy and we have the same thinking.. I don’t have a home base I stay in my Toyota Corolla and I love it 🥰
Hannah, I love that Kiwi color. That color came out after I needed to buy a vehicle.
I love my Honda Element too & that swivel seat would be a game changer. Two years now I've lived in my HE. The swivel seat is too high of a price & I passed up on buying that swivel seat too.
Would love to meet up with U Hannah & create a community & share our land & life with other like minded people! 😉 CUDTR 🚙 Happy travels & stay safe. 😊
Excellent. Good for you!
Your definitely in your element! Great job with minimalistic choices. Bravo.
Hannah has the spirit and drive that will make her successful. I wish her the best and hope that she does change her passenger seat to a captain’s chair. I personally am just working to start out my journey in June from Ohio to cross our great country. Ever the pandemic, I got the urge to get outside more. I will eventually will stop in Quartzite and seeking out others. But, I need to prepare.
God bless Hana! I hope she finds that little piece of land she talked about.
Truly a life of simplicity!
Your experience is unique to you and the good news is that it is a beautiful one with a splendid energy
Hannah is an amazing human being. ❤
Hannah is a beautiful person, both physically and internally. May God be your copilot Hannah as you blaze new trails.
Lovely woman.
Hannah's enthusiasm if infectious. i hope our paths cross someday.
I can remember when the Element came out and a Honda rep at the Portland Auto Show remarked that its target audience was young active adults, and I thought... 'they haven't a clue who the real buyers will be'. And I was right. Many 40 to 60+ year olds snapped them up and many still have them. That said, I don't think it was the success it should have been cuzz now days the demand for them is very high and there are so few available.
Keep it on the high road to adventure, Hannah.
PS! Need better MPG... Slow down. Most of us are in a big hurry to go nowhere fast. If you are retired, what's your hurry? Anything over 55-mph and fuel mileage drops off significantly due to the coefficient of drag 'squaring' over 55-mph. Doing 65-mph into a headwind and watch that fuel meter drop no matter what you are driving.
😁 love her personality!
Great spirited lady!
I would love to do something like this but I can't for health reasons 😣. I live the lifestyle vicariously through your videos. Thx
I'm very happy for you, Hana.
Peace, Love, Blessings and continued beauty and adventures.
I wish her the best of luck. She seems pretty happy already.
Her energy is amazing
Nice build, very organized 😊❤
I spent sixteen summers hiking all the high trails in America with my Element, trailhead to trailhead. Try putting your fridge in the front seat. You will have more room in the back. I put full synthetic oil on the engine and always drove 55 on the freeways and I still get 28 miles a gallon 225 thousand miles later. When I got to be 75, I started wishing for a doggy and a garden and found a place to buy that had a good well. Living in the desert near US 395 is all I need.
Blessings Hanna
Thank you for interviewing Hannah, I love her attitude. I have been perfectly happy with our 2009 jeep Patriot for solo part time travel, but like the Elements, they are small and the gass mileage is not all that great because they are shaped like bricks... Our 2017 Toyota Sienna gets better gas mileage and is a mansion inside. Not as much ground clearance is not a problem, because as my son said, you will just park at the end of the good road and pull out your backpack and walk the rest of the way. Thank you again for taking the time to do these interviews and rig tours. Safe travels and I hope our paths cross at some point out on the road.
She is inspiring and so so cute! Love her.
Nice simple build ready to enjoy for such a nice lady

Roof storage would be great!
