A place I have never been yet.........I love hanging out a Locks........so cool how it all works................These are primative but work very well looks like........thanks for sharing Jason......
Locks are cool and have been used for thousands of years beginning in China. Without locks, ships (and small boats) would be prevented from accessing certain waterways and routes. World trade is dependent on two major lock systems: the Panama canal and the Suez. Ship traffic into the Great lakes would also be impossible without them. Interesting how simple yet effective they are!
Hey buzz, The Rideau Canal in Ottawa has 8 locks in the downtown section, known as the Ottawa Locks. These locks connect the canal to the Ottawa River, with a total lift of about 24 meters (79 feet). In total, the Rideau Canal system, spanning from Ottawa to Kingston, has 47 locks at 24 lock stations.
It is good to see canal locks in action and this set of locks looks very interesting. Thanks for showing this
Very cool canal action there Jason I enjoyed it 👍
That is much steeper than our canal. We one level. That is amazing with all the levels. I couldn't help but notice the size of the planks.

Yeah simple but effective is right, interesting to see
Rideau is a long waterway / river. What numbers are these locks? How many are there, 8, 10, 12?
