Hi Anna!🤚 You went to Okinawa and didn't have spam!😄 Beautiful place, was it warm enough to swim in the ocean? You might have found Nemo out in the wild🤗
@@travelloveranna the clown fish you were looking at in the tank😄 You probably could have found them in the tropical waters in Okinawa! I hear the water there is really clear👍
What a beautiful area.. When I was a kid, back in the 50s, we lived on Guam.. and my dad had a tank with beautiful tropical fish... Brought back a memory.. Wonderful Hotel.. thank you for the video. It snowed here today.. and this took me away from that.
@@travelloveranna It was interesting.. beautiful beaches.. except for the sea slugs.. I hated stepping on them. I remember swimming almost to the reef with a snorkal and facemask moving along as my hands walked on the sandy bottom of the shallow part of the ocean and seeing such beautiful tropical fish.. swimming.. I remember it was really hot and muggy... Our first home was a wood frame house on stilts.. in the middle of the jungle. Our first night there we were hit with a Typhoon.. we had to go up to the Naval base and stay with friends in their cinder block home.. I remember the sound of the wind that night.. I could go on forever.. lol It was an amazing experience.. it was only about 10 years after WW2.. so there were a lot of remnants of the war still there.. a couple of young kids, down the dirt road from us, found what they thought was a ball.. and it turned out to be a grenade.. They both died... Like I said.. there were remnants of the war still there. Now I'm a sculptor.. living in the north west of the US... I make videos to. I learned to climb Coconut trees there.. haha
Harbor view hotel is one of my favorites in okinawa. Good sized room, good price, close to kokusaidori, really wonderful staff. When I stayed I maybe similar room, I had that view but my room bathroom did not have a window. Many years ago it used to be the military officers lounge, so the hotel has a rich history, very iconic in okinawa.
@@travelloveranna yes for u.s. army. Many okinawan remember it because of unique pink color for building. Color has always stayed the same. If you like a light lunch and zenzai, try Fukiya in naha city. It is my favorite. Also taco rice is unique to okinawa food.
I could see from your video that Okinawa is a very special place in Japan. It is somehow like the Singapore but more free. I have dreamed of traveling Japan again for a long time, but I am restricted by the covid restrictions. Anyway your composition is really fantastic, hope you could continue to create.
I totally agree! Okinawa has the tropical climate and it may be similar to the South East Asia :) I really hope that everyone can visit Japan sometime soon!
You picked another good hotel in Okinawa. Quite a spacious room compared to many Japanese hotels with a good sized bed, suitable amenities and lovely decor. A very good view outside as well. I loved the Okinawan restaurant you visited. The food looked so good, it made me really hungry!! Not sure about eating sea snake though! I wonder what it tastes like? Chicken? Thanks for the video. Looking forward to your next one.
Ahaha I was not enough brave to try sea snake miso soup...eww lol But one of my friends who is from Okinawa doesn't like so much.haha but some people do. You should try it :p
hi, I am from Hong Kong. In Hong Kong culture, we often have marinated pig's ear and pig's knuckle! there are numerous ways to prepare pig's ears and pig's knucle!
Thank you for the video! I watch a lot of Solo Traveler Japan and TH-cam kinda recommended these videos, and so far I am enjoying them. Seeing a pretty woman on the thumbnail doesn't hurt either. ;) I will never be able to go to Japan, so for me, videos like this are how I get to explore and see the country. Since you seem to place a great amount of importance on safety, I do wonder about how dangerous it is for a woman that you need women only floors and the like. In the US, I have never even see something like that, so it is kind of surprising that something like that is even needed. How serious is the danger for a lone woman?
Well, I don't think it's dangerous like the U.S. However, I would say...if we have a separate room from men, especially in Capsule hotels, we feel comfortable. Because in capsule hotels, we usually can't lock the door which means everyone could enter your room. And if men and women stay in the same floor, we may not be comfortable. Does it make sense?
@@travelloveranna Thank you for the response! I wouldn't say the US is that dangerous, or at least not as bad as the news makes it to be... depends where you are really. In a large city? Yeah, I would keep everything locked. But I live in a rural area (7k people in my town) and I don't lock anything and never had an issue. I will say that the US doesn't have anything like capsule rooms either. Every hotel I know of has a door that can be locked. I have never even seen a communal room for people to sleep in like I have on some train and Ferry videos. So do the Ferries and trains that do capsule rooms also split it by gender? What about the communal rooms? I couldn't imagine someone like you staying in a room like that and being comfortable with it.
It’s not dangerous at all in Japan. They have men and women only floors because that is their custom. You could leave a very expensive item outside and they wouldn’t touch it. Their customs are just very different than the US. Japan is also a very “old” country, meaning it’s mainly elderly people and they make the rules. It’s takes a veryyyy long time for things to change!
I wish I had a pen pal Japanese friend like you. I love people there and I am so curious to know one privately. I would have thousand of question for her :)
Very nice video, thanks a lot. You are a charming young woman, I'm sorry you don't see it in the video anymore. It would be somehow more emotional and intimate ... but as much as possible, such are the rules. Thank you!
