Pairing up of 395s was common during the London Olympics and Paralympics in 2012 - being there and getting a free HS1 valid Travelcard was a bonus and a good way of scoring some for haulage!
Excellent video as usual. Two comments: Eurostar trains are incredibly long and very dirty. Looks like the rest of the train companies can teach them something. There seems to be never a dull moment at Ashford International. But Manchester Piccadilly is still my favourite location.
They have to be very long: all trains that pass through the Channel Tunnel must be at least 375 metres long. That's because there are cross-passages which link the rail tunnels to the service tunnel at 375-metre spacing. One of the safety requirements is that in the event of a fire or train failure or power surge, all passengers must be able to be evacuated through one of the cross-passages. If the train is at least 375 metres long, it will always be located directly next to one of the cross-passages, no matter where it stops, which is why all trains operating in the tunnel are that long.
the sheer speed of them is mesmerising, I had a couple of weeks off from filming after I filmed at Ashford. I had been meaning to upload this sooner but I forgot lol
JD the Trainspotter well I'm back to uploading films each and every week. I have a new film from Birmingham uploaded and I have 2 more following up from Rugeley Trent Valley and Lichfield Trent Valley
Brilliant Commentary! :-) The Eurostars are my favourite. The sounds of the 373s and e320s are electrifying. The 373s are being refurbished and repainted in the Euro Colour Scheme. The Eurostars travel as far as Marseille from St Pancras. They should also go to Barcelona, Milan and Rome.
thanks very much for saying so :) I've only seen one of the 373 sets in the dark blue which I must say looks very sleek. I can't wait until some of the international services from Germany and Spain
Yeah Scousetrainspotter1999 told me that several other trainspotters were going to Ashford International on that day and fortunately I had booked that day off so seeing as I had it free I went down for a couple of hours to meet everyone and do some filming of my own
Tornado922 that would be so funny and here you see the train spotters i. there natral habitat you know its them by there distingtive call ITS A EUROSTAR. id pay to watch that but good video btw.
Hi I love the video could yoù do a new series of most used station its basically when you choose a county and then find the most used station (by passenage number) and show the station hope it helps
The class 170 is a nice engine I use one three days a week from Brandon to Cambridge it's going to be a shame when greater anglia stop using them late next year. And when you get a chance man unless you been there already but you should check out Cambridge north do a film there I think you'll like it lots of types of company's go though there.
Tornado922 u should go to tempilmills eurostar train depto ask them on fb at eurostar or twitter @Eurostar plese u will see lots of sexy 373s n not so good e320s
This is what I don't get: 11:45-13::45 or whatever, the train had 4 coaches. I am a student for a school in Chilham, I always see the train with 6 coaches not 12, but between 09:02-10:02 because they run every 1 hour at Chilham, they have 12 coaches. And the class 375 from Victoria to Canterbury West 09:15-15:15 they run with 4 cars.
I got the train back to London and then another train to Northampton which is where I live. So afterwards I would catch a train from Northampton to Birmingham
The speed limit on the HS1 between Ebbsfleet Int'l and the tunnel is indeed 300 km/h (186 mph), but because that section is so short, trains hardly ever make it up to that speed. Usually, in the UK, the trains won't go faster than 270 km/h (168 mph)
Why not? I understand it may be damaging in some places, but the overall improvement to journey times and capacity across the West Coast will be much improved, I travel on the WCML quite frequently and it does often get reduced to standing capacity so it is needed, and there isn't really much else that can improve the WCML to counter it
Awesome I saw the old euro star trains a while back :)
I will admit the Eurostar do look gorgeous
if you go to the pedestrian bridge at Rainham, the views you get of the HS1 are unreal, literally
I'm hoping to get there one day
Beautiful the class 373👌💯
One classic 373 Eurostar that needs a good clean up
Brilliant video. Loved the Eurostar.
thank you, seeing the various Eurostar services was brilliant

Looks like there was some kind of Meet and Greet that was happening there.
Yeah Scousetrainspotter1999 told me that several other trainspotters were going to Ashford International on that day and fortunately I had booked that day off so seeing as I had it free I went down for a couple of hours to meet everyone and do some filming of my own

I Can Hear Scoane Trainspotter 1999
Hi I love the video could yoù do a new series of most used station its basically when you choose a county and then find the most used station (by passenage number) and show the station hope it helps
Well that certainly sounds different but I'd be more than happy to give that a go, maybe not for a while but I'll definitely look into doing it :)
Hey tornado this summer i will be going to Hastings.

Thx mate i will tell you all about it when i get there
good video

Your wellcome
they should at least give the class 373 a good wash once in a while
a lot of the white 373 sets are very dirty. I very much doubt they get cleaned that often
You should go to London Liverpool Street
I'll think about it
The class 170 is a nice engine I use one three days a week from Brandon to Cambridge it's going to be a shame when greater anglia stop using them late next year.

Oddly enough I'm going to Cambridge North on Saturday

Yes the flyover is for non stopping Eurostar services

I'm not to keen on this reigon but this is a spectacular film nevertheless
I very rarely come down to this end of the country. But this is a station that I always love filming at
there were a lot of delayed trains that day
Yeah the local services were getting disrupted due to faulty signalling
okey doke
In the description you put AD Trains and BD Trains
they are the train spotters with him
The Eurostar otherwise known as “The Mechanical Maggot”.
That's a new one on me
Tornado922 It’s what we used to call it when it was on test runs through the station, It was a staff thing really.
How often does that Thameslink run?
This is what I don't get: 11:45-13::45 or whatever, the train had 4 coaches. I am a student for a school in Chilham, I always see the train with 6 coaches not 12, but between 09:02-10:02 because they run every 1 hour at Chilham, they have 12 coaches. +Stagecoach LondonRBLX looks like you did your research for me
How you going to reach Birmingham from ashford international?
train back to St pancras. walk to kgx. from there either walk/tube to Euston then jump on a virgin or London midland to Birmingham.
I got the train back to London and then another train to Northampton which is where I live. So afterwards I would catch a train from Northampton to Birmingham
Carry on at london saint Pancras Itl
Is that the Scouse Trainspotter 1999 I keep hearing in the background?
It probably is
What speeds do Eurostars reach in England?
186mph top speed
Do they? I thought they only go that fast in France. Good to know
The speed limit on the HS1 between Ebbsfleet Int'l and the tunnel is indeed 300 km/h (186 mph), but because that section is so short, trains hardly ever make it up to that speed. Usually, in the UK, the trains won't go faster than 270 km/h (168 mph)

oh hello
HS1 where is HS2
HS2 hasn't been built yet.
Oh so it has starting to be built
Well, I'm not entirely sure, but if you check the Wikipedia page it says that it is still in planning. So, no, it is not being built.
+JPBX 909 alright
im from the future, its still not here lol
@21:29 whos the person dressed as a clown?
A very dirty Euro Star train
